Abstract: A resilient metal contact brush for use in controlling an electric motor, comprises a strip-like metal member having at one end thereof a contact head protruding at an angle to the plane of the strip-like member and at the other end thereof a fixing means. The contact head is an integral portion of the strip-like member and is formed by the juxtaposition of two flat ear-like protrusions formed on the strip-like member adjacent the one end thereof. Each ear-like protrusion is initially located at a respective edge of, and in the plane of, the strip-like member adjacent the one end thereof. The contact head is formed by first bending each ear-like protrusion through an angle of 180.degree.

Abstract: A preloaded spring contact electrical terminal with a support portion mounted in a fixed position in a housing, an abutment portion and a spring flex portion deformed to preload the abutment portion against a housing cavity wall. A contact portion is axially aligned with and axially spaced from the abutment portion to provide a narrow configuration in which preload force, contact force and insertion force can be optimized while contact wear is reduced.

Abstract: A modular jack for a telephone set comprises a hollow housing having an elastomeric contact member extending across at the junction of the end wall and the bottom wall. The contact member has a plurality of parallel conductive contact members on its surface positioned to make contact with terminals of a modular plug. The contact members also extend out of the housing to make contact with a circuit pattern on a circuit board on which the jack is mounted.

More particularly, the invention includes a plurality of resilient connectors embedded in an elastomeric material with opposing ends thereof being exposed on opposite surfaces of the elastomeric body to provide contact points.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to electrical connectors for accommodating insulated conductors and more particularly to improvements in clip type connectors adapted to penetrate or strip the conductor insulation and thereafter establish contact with the conductor wire as for example to provide positive grounding of a wire to an appliance panel at any position along the length of the wire. The connector disclosed herein includes a pair of adjacently positioned arms or blades bent upwardly from the margin of a sheet metal base. The outer extremities of the spaced edges of the blades are flared to facilitate initial reception of an insulated conductor and present oppositely disposed insulation penetrating means or cutters. The outer extremities of the blades are relatively offset laterally and means is provided for mounting the connector or clip upon the edge of a panel.

Abstract: An electrical connector, having a multiplicity of electrical conductors, in which pressure, to establish electrical contact between conductors, is generated by means of a single external force. Maintenance of adequate contact pressure, for all contacts, is determined by incorporating a single pressure sensing device which monitors the pressure applied to the contacts.
