  • Patent number: 4595210
Abstract: The invention is a trailer suitable for hauling fruit bins or the like, pivotally connected to a hitch and supported by an axle assembly which includes an offset cross shaft. An hydraulically actuated cam assembly rotates the cross shaft so that the rear end of the trailer can be lowered to the ground for easy loading and unloading without raising the forward end. The trailer also has a stop mechanism on its rear end which is actuated by the same cam assembly which rotates the axle, so as to automatically place it in operative position when the trailer is raised.

  • Patent number: 4592569
Abstract: A release ski binding has a sole plate which is pivotal in its central region about an approximately vertical axis and is tiltable up about a transverse axis which is arranged in front of the vertical axis, which sole plate is held in the skiing position by a resilient holding mechanism which, during a release, effects an opening of the jaws which hold the ski show on the ski.In order to bring about a simple structural design of the binding, the holding mechanism has associated with it a spring housing which is movably supported on the sole plate, the spring of which spring housing urges a locking member for the jaws into the clamping position. The locking member is arranged on the sole plate.

  • Patent number: 4515394
Abstract: A wheel lock and stand assembly for a trailer in which a swivel wheel lock locks the wheel against swiveling when the stand supports the trailer and unlocks the wheel when the stand is raised. A locking arm which is engageable with the swivel mechanism is mounted on a rotatable shaft, and a crank arm on the shaft is connected to the stand by a link. As the stand is lowered and raised, the link and the crank rotate the shaft to bring the locking arm into and out of engagement with the swivel mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4458912
Abstract: A multi-portion ski fitted together with numerous shaped two-part metal coupling devices one part, usually forward, has two or more threaded metal ferrels protruding upward into which metal screws are fastened. The bottom plate on the connection portion slips over the ferrels forming a tight fit. The top plate, of about one half the size, adjustably locks the bottom plate into place by interacting with slots in the sides of the ferrels. An adjustable screw controls the tension of the locking portion of the coupling device which should always tightly lock the portions together without deformation of parts.

  • Patent number: 4457392
Abstract: Linkage is disclosed for adjusting the position of a diesel engine injection pump control rack in dependence on the position of the driver's accelerator pedal and also on a system for automatically maintaining the vehicle speed at a desired value. The injection pump rack is positioned by means of a pneumatic piston-cylinder assembly and connecting linkage. The pressure in the piston-cylinder assembly is adjusted by means of a driver-controlled valve in a supply line from a pressure source, and this valve is adjusted by the driver's accelerator pedal. A normally open valve is also connected in the pressure circuit and a normally closed exhaust valve is provided. When the automatic speed control system is in operation, the driver fully opens the driver-controlled valve (by fully depressing his foot pedal) and the automatic system adjusts the other valves to hold the speed at the desired value.

  • Patent number: 4453731
Abstract: A ski brake has a base plate and has a stepping plate which is hinged to the base plate by means of a transverse axle and is biased by an erecting spring, in which stepping plate or on which stepping plate are pivotally supported two braking mandrels by their support sections. Pivotal movement of each braking mandrel occurs either by means of a coarse thread provided on its support section which operatively engages an internal thread of a structural part fixed on the stepping plate or movable relative to the stepping plate, or by means of a helical slot which guides the transversely extending section of the braking mandrel.

  • Patent number: 4445699
Abstract: The coaster includes a wheeled foot platform, the steerable wheel of which is rotatable on a swiveled axle for effecting a steering action. The swiveled axle extends through aligned horizontal slots in vertical axle guides where are spherically curved. Each axle guide has at least one axially extending flange on which rides a bearing element or roller assembled on the axle. The roller and another bearing element assembled on the axle have complementary curved surfaces in sliding bearing engagement with opposite curved sides of each guide for axially constrained swiveled or turning movement of the axle. Steering of the coaster is obtained by a foot steerable plate mounted for pivotal movement on the foot platform. A mechanical linkage is connected at one end by a sliding pivot to the plate and at its other end to one or both ends of the swiveled axle.

  • Patent number: 4444411
Abstract: A safety ski binding includes a first jaw which is fixedly mounted on a ski and a second jaw which is supported movably on the ski and includes an electrically activated release mechanism. A piezoelectric sensor is provided on each jaw, the sensor in the first jaw being wired to a signal-processing circuit provided in the ski and powered by a battery provided in the ski. An electromagnetic coupling is provided to couple the circuitry in the ski with and to provide power to the release mechanism and sensor in the second jaw. Signals from the sensor in the second jaw are transmitted to the signal-processing circuit through the electromagnetic coupling. The signal-processing circuit evaluates the signals received from both sensors and, when a release is required, sends a signal through the electromagnetic coupling to activate the release mechanism.
