  • Patent number: 11656839
Abstract: A distribution system comprises an audio server (101) for receiving incoming audio from remote clients (103) and for transmitting audio derived from the incoming audio to the remote clients (103). An audio apparatus comprises an audio a receiver (401) which receives data comprising: audio data for a plurality of audio components representing audio from a remote client of the plurality of remote clients; and proximity data for at least one of the audio components. The proximity data is indicative of proximity between remote clients. A generator (403) of the apparatus generates an audio mix from the audio components in response to the proximity data. For example, an audio component indicated to be proximal to a remote client may be excluded from an audio mix for that remote client.

  • Patent number: 11573761
Abstract: The disclosed systems and method provide for an audio playback device to form a Bluetooth connection with an audio source device based on audio generated by an acoustic transducer. The audio is encoded with Bluetooth connectivity data corresponding to the audio source device. The acoustic transducer can be arranged on the audio source device, or it can be arranged on an audio playback device connected to the audio source device via a Bluetooth connection. The audio is received by a microphone of an audio playback device. The audio playback device then extracts the Bluetooth connectivity information from the audio, and forms a Bluetooth connection with the audio source device. If the Bluetooth connection is a Broadcast Audio stream, as defined by the LE Audio standard, multiple audio playback devices can be able to connect audio source device, allowing for a communal listening experience.

  • Patent number: 11567728
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a process that can predict and prevent an audio artifact from occurring. The process can monitor the systems, processes, and execution threads on a larger system/device, such as a mobile or in-vehicle device. Using a learning algorithm, such as deep neural network (DNN), the information collected can generate a prediction of whether an audio artifact is likely to occur. The process can use a second learning algorithm, which also can be a DNN, to generate recommended system adjustments that can attempt to prevent the audio glitch from occurring. The recommendations can be for various systems and components on the device, such as changing the processing system frequency, the memory frequency, and the audio buffer size. After the audio artifact has been prevented, the system adjustments can be reversed fully or in steps to return the system to its state prior to the system adjustments.

  • Patent number: 11558022
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described herein for improved processing audio in a video stream. A system may split audio in a frame of video content into multiple bands based on their audio levels. The system may then dynamically compress and dynamically normalize the audio level in each band. When dynamically compressing the bands, the system may determine, based on stored information, what audio level range is acceptable for an end user and may smooth and maintain the ranges of the audio to be within the acceptable range. The system may include the dynamically normalized and dynamically compressed frames as a second audio track in the video content. A computing device receiving the video content may select the second audio track during playback. If an end user selects the second audio track, the video is delivered with the modified sound of the second audio track.

  • Patent number: 11537359
Abstract: A response activity pattern may be ascertained from a set of computing devices obtained during a monitoring mode of operation. The monitoring mode of operation can be initiated when a user command is determined to be a new or unknown command. The response activity pattern may be used to generate a response profile indicating an activity to carry out using one or more user devices to perform a task associated with the user command. When an indication of a previously unknown user command to perform a task is received, the generated response profile can be used to perform the designed task by carrying out the activity using the one or more user device. In this way, the activity that should be carried out to perform the task can be learned based on the monitored user activity related to the one or more user devices.

  • Patent number: 11538498
Abstract: Example techniques may involve managing playback of media content by a playback device. In an example implementation, a playback device receives, via the network interface from a control device of the media playback system, an instruction to queue a container of audio tracks into a queue for playback by the playback device, wherein the container of audio tracks and consists of: (a) an album, (b) a playlist, or (c) an internet radio station. While the playback device is playing back the queue and before each audio track of the playlist is played back, the playback device determines whether the respective audio track is associated with a negative preference. If the respective audio track is associated with the negative preference, the playback device advances playback over the respective audio track to the next audio track within the queue.
