  • Patent number: 11597517
Abstract: A projectile component that can be removably attached to a flying vehicle is disclosed. The projectile component includes a net configured in the projectile component, a receiving cavity configured in the projectile component, and a weight attached to the net via a string. The weight can be configured in the receiving cavity in preparation for firing the net from the projectile component. In order to entangle a target flying vehicle in the net, a cocklebur associated with the weight is included. Upon firing the net from the projectile component, and upon the net engaging with a target device, the cocklebur becomes entangled with the net to secure the target flying vehicle. A drawstring structure associated with the net can also be used to ensure that the net envelops and captures the target flying vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11578949
Abstract: A quick-release ballistic plate assembly for a protective vest includes an outer chassis configured to attach to a chest and/or back panel of the vest. The outer chassis has an open lower end leading to an inner cavity, wherein a ballistic plate and sleeve subassembly inserts upward into the cavity. An emergency release handle depending downward from the subassembly may be pulled to overcome a retention mechanism and jettison the subassembly in case the wearer ends up in a body of water or alternative situation requiring such function. This avoids the need to shed the entire protective vest which typically has numerous pockets for a variety of tools, survival gear and ammunition. The assembly may be built into the protective vest at the OEM level, or may be retrofit to existing vests.

  • Patent number: 11573068
Abstract: A projectile with a payload protection mechanism protects, prior to and during firing, a fragile payload, where the payload must be positioned forward in the nose of the projectile, within a frangible ogive which provides little protection to rough handling, at time of downrange function. The payload protection mechanism allows the payload to move axially within the projectile, and initially slid rearward in the more robust metal body of the projectile. The payload is retained within the body by a locking and release mechanism, until the launching of the projectile triggers (by environmental forces such as setback or spin) the release of a locking and release mechanism. Unlocking the mechanism allows the payload to slide forward within the projectile into the ogive so the payload can function as required.

  • Patent number: 11566861
Abstract: The projectile-launcher operation monitoring device includes at least one displacement-sensor and a processor coupled with the displacement-sensor. The displacement-sensor acquires measurements relating to the displacement of the projectile-launcher and to produce a sampled time signal of values relating to the displacement. The processor receives from the displacement-sensor the sampled time signal to determine projectile-launcher operation parameters therefrom, by employing a deep-learning system. The deep-learning system includes an encoder receiving sample-frames from the sampled time signal producing codes relating to the sample-frames. Each of the codes is a vector of values relating to the probabilities of features in the received sample-frames.
