  • Patent number: 11219463
Abstract: A handle assembly of a surgical instrument includes a housing, a trigger pivotably coupled to the housing, a drive bar disposed within the housing and operably coupled to the trigger such that pivoting of the trigger translates the drive bar, and a bilateral spring disposed within the housing and operably coupled to at least one of the trigger or the drive bar. The trigger is movable relative to the housing between first, second, and third positions wherein the first position is disposed between the second and third positions. The bilateral spring includes a compression spring configured to compress upon movement of the trigger in a first direction from the first position towards the second position to establish a first bias, and to compress upon movement of the trigger in a second, opposite direction from the first position towards the third position to establish a second bias.

  • Patent number: 11197665
Abstract: A needle reload device includes a loading assembly including a needle holder pulley and a needle release arm. The needle holder pulley includes a base including first and second portions configured to receive a needle. The needle release arm is transitionable between an engaged state, in which the needle release arm engages the needle holder pulley to inhibit rotation of the needle holder pulley, and a disengaged state, in which the needle release arm is disengaged from the needle holder pulley such that the needle holder pulley is rotatable. When the needle release arm is in the engaged state, the first portion of the needle holder pulley is positioned between jaws of a stitching device, and when the needle release arm is in the disengage state, the second portion of the base of the needle holder pulley is positioned between the jaws.

  • Patent number: 11116500
Abstract: A surgical device is provided and includes a handle housing, an endoscopic assembly, and a follower assembly. The endoscopic assembly extends distally from the handle housing and includes an inner tube defining a longitudinal axis. The inner tube includes a distal portion defining a pair of opposed tines. The endoscopic assembly is configured to support a plurality of anchors at least partially therein. The follower assembly is disposed at least partially within the inner tube at a location proximal of the plurality of anchors, and includes a head and a shaft. A portion of the head is disposed between the pair of opposed tines. Actuation of the endoscopic surgical device causes rotation of the inner tube about the longitudinal axis relative to the handle housing, and causes distal advancement of the follower assembly relative to the inner tube.

  • Patent number: 11071553
Abstract: An endoscopic surgical clip applier (10) includes a handle assembly (100) configured to releasably engage at least two in different endoscopic assemblies (200, 300). The handle assembly (100) is configured to transition from a non-ratcheting use condition to a ratcheting use condition when an endoscopic assembly (200) configured for ratcheting use is engaged with the handle assembly (100). The handle assembly (100) is maintained in the non-ratcheting use condition when an endoscopic assembly (300) configured for non-ratcheting use is engaged with the handle assembly (100). Endoscopic assemblies (200, 300) for use with the handle assembly (100) are also provided.

  • Patent number: 11020193
Abstract: A medical device system can include a surgical tool, and a one-way input, and a drive system operatively coupled to the surgical tool and the oneway input device. The drive system can be rotatable in a first direction to effectuate a first operation of the surgical tool, and rotatable in a second direction to effectuate a second the operation of the surgical tool. The one-way input device can be operable to rotate the rotatable drive system in the second direction but not the first direction.

  • Patent number: 10980557
Abstract: A forceps includes first and second shafts, each having a jaw member disposed at a distal end thereof. At least one jaw member is moveable from an open to a closed position for grasping tissue therebetween. At least one jaw member is configured for reciprocation of a blade therethrough. A trigger assembly includes a trigger and at least one linkage coupled to the trigger and to the blade such that rotation of the trigger translates the blade between the retracted and the extended position. An interference member moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position is also provided. The interference member is configured to engage the linkage(s) when in the locked position to inhibit translation of the blade from the retracted to the extended position.
