The method includes assigning a phone number to the user for private fax and voice communications from service providers, associating access information with the user for the user to use to access a web site, receiving a private fax communication comprising a record associated with the user for which the user has requested and given permission to the service provider to send to the phone number, converting the private fax communications into an image file format, storing the record encoded in the image file format, and providing the user with access to the web site using the access information and providing on the web site an interface to the records of the user for the user to access the record.

The medical practices database may include a plurality of protocols. Each of the plurality of protocols may include a different plurality of narrowing questions to be presented to the user. The questions may relate to at least one of the plurality of protocols and may be presented to the user based on the answers to the questions provided by the user.

Abstract: A system and method for acquiring, compiling and displaying data indicative of healthcare data workflow within an integrated healthcare enterprise simplifies the monitoring and identification of inefficiencies such as bottlenecks in the enterprise. Information gathered from enterprise system components and data files are used to measure individual component performance. System alerts and messaging capabilities allow an enterprise administrator to remedy potential bottlenecks before problems arise. Remedial measures may be programmed into the system to automatically remedy inefficiencies as they are identified.

Abstract: A system and related techniques provide an integrated platform for privacy management of electronic medical records, encompassing the entire life cycle of privacy management including the capture of patient consents and other privacy status information, request management to receive and filter requests by health insurance companies and others, publishing management and release management of the contents of the electronic medical record. According to embodiments of the invention in one regard, various modules and logic may directly access the patient EMR and extract appropriate segments of information called for by validated requests, to publish that information as well as record or log that access history. The invention may thus provide an integrated tool to document compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.

Abstract: Certain embodiments provide systems and methods for self-updating procedure duration estimation for patient scheduling. A scheduling system for scheduling procedures in a clinical environment includes historical procedure data including stored duration values for a procedure. The scheduling system also includes a user interface providing scheduling and procedure duration information to a user for scheduling the procedure for a patient. The scheduling system further includes a scheduling engine estimating one or more duration values for the procedure for scheduling the procedure for a patient. The scheduling engine establishes a default duration value for a procedure and updating the default duration value based on the historical procedure duration data. The scheduling engine provides a plurality of procedure durations including the updated default duration value to the user for selection via the user interface. The scheduling engine schedules a procedure using a user selected value for procedure duration.

In one example, a method may include the operations of averaging data from various geographies of the amount billed to form a national average amount billed for the medical procedure; associating the average amount billed with one or more claim data items from a health plan; grouping the claim data items from the health plan using episode classes; calculating an average amount billed for each episode class; and adjusting the average amount billed for each episode class by a geographic adjustment factor to form an estimated cost of the medical procedure.

Abstract: The present invention is a system and method of pre-delivery drug identification. The system and method is implemented where drugs are being administered, such as in a hospital or clinic, and identifies the drug being administered to the patient before the drug reaches the patient. The system and method may utilize a sensor used for other physiologic monitoring to identify the drug. After identification, the system and method is configured to cross-reference the identified drug with the patient's prescription and allergy information, and to prevent delivery to the patient, if necessary. The system and method also utilizes data collected from the patient with a physiological monitor or a ventilator sensor to further determine whether the drug is appropriate for the patient. The method and system may also include an override system for medical personnel. The method described may be carried out by a software application.

Abstract: Beneficiary successor planning is performed by the examination of beneficiary data from a new benefits request and determining available succession benefit plans. The successor planning includes re-using existing beneficiary data associated with the request as well as determining the current requested benefits plan. From this information, the successor planning includes generating successor benefit plans which can re-use the beneficiary information that is available and may also indicate triggering events that, when these events occur, would render the successor plan in effect. Through this planning, manual data entry is reduced and the successor benefit plans are automatically generated.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for tracking and monitoring a patient's compliance with a medical device usage prescription for a medical device is disclosed. This method and system includes the steps of: (a) providing a minimum medical device usage compliance value for the medical device for a predetermined compliance period; (b) providing the quantity of compliance periods in a measurement cycle; and (c) determining a compliance period value as the number of compliance periods in the measurement cycle in which an actual medical device usage value is at least equal to the minimum medical device usage compliance value. In another embodiment, the method also includes: providing a weighting factor, and applying the weighting factor to at least one actual medical device session usage value.
