  • Patent number: 11546220
Abstract: Examples described herein include systems and methods for optimizing the number of servers in a cluster. In one example, a number of application servers, a number of backend servers, and a first disk throughput of a backend server to be included in the cluster are determined. The first disk throughput is determined based on the storage capacity of the backend server and a first round trip time. Example systems and method can also include validating the number of application servers based on a cluster throughput and one of a network interface card bandwidth of an application server to be included in the cluster and a load bearing capacity of the application server. The systems and methods can further include determining a second disk throughput of the backend server and increasing the number of backend servers if the second disk throughput is less than the second disk throughput.

  • Patent number: 11538287
Abstract: An apparatus for managing vehicle data collection including a remote access execution circuit, a property translation circuit, a parameter acquisition circuit, a remote operation circuit, and a parameter conditioning circuit. The remote access execution circuit interprets a remote access request value including a requested vehicle property and/or a vehicle function value. The property translation circuit determines: a property request value responsive to the requested vehicle property; and/or an actuator command value responsive to the vehicle function value. The parameter acquisition circuit interprets vehicle parameter values responsive to the property request value. The remote operation circuit provides the actuator command value to a vehicle network zone endpoint. The parameter conditioning circuit generates, responsive to the property request value, vehicle property data from the vehicle parameter values. The vehicle property data corresponds to the requested vehicle property.

  • Patent number: 11522682
Abstract: Technologies for providing streamlined provisioning of accelerated functions in a disaggregated architecture include a compute sled. The compute sled includes a network interface controller and circuitry to determine whether to accelerate a function of a workload executed by the compute sled, and send, to a memory sled and in response to a determination to accelerate the function, a data set on which the function is to operate. The circuitry is also to receive, from the memory sled, a service identifier indicative of a memory location independent handle for data associated with the function, send, to a compute device, a request to schedule acceleration of the function on the data set, receive a notification of completion of the acceleration of the function, and obtain, in response to receipt of the notification and using the service identifier, a resultant data set from the memory sled. The resultant data set was produced by an accelerator device during acceleration of the function on the data set.

  • Patent number: 11487262
Abstract: A method for protecting a pump unit comprising a variable-speed fluid-conveying device, particularly a centrifugal pump, a drive and a control system, is provided, with protection in the event of cyber attacks. Signals relating to the speed and/or speed regulation of the fluid-conveying device are detected and then evaluated to detect a maliciously effected, anomalous operation of the pump unit characteristic of a cyber attack. At least one nominal variable and at least one actual variable derived from the analyzed signal are compared. Subsequently, a unit transmits signals to components of the pump unit in order to control the operation of the fluid-conveying device in a state in which the fluid-conveying device is protected from current and/or other cyber attacks.

  • Patent number: 11469987
Abstract: Example methods and systems for routing domain computation are described. In one example, a computer system may assign multiple logical entities with respective routing domain identifiers (IDs) by processing network topology information using multiple compute nodes. In response to detecting a network topology change associated with a particular logical entity, the computer system may determine first state change information identifying a first update to first state information maintained by a first compute node; and second state change information identifying a second update to second state information maintained by a second compute node. Further, the particular logical entity with an updated routing domain ID based on the first state change information and the second state change information. The updated routing domain ID may be used in a communication between a management entity and host(s) supporting the particular logical entity.

  • Patent number: 11468476
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for presentation of advertising content during presentation of media content and based on data collected from vehicle sensors and a mobile device. Media content, such as stored songs, podcasts, or videos, may be presented to a user. Sensor data corresponding to operation of a vehicle may be collected, and a risk score based on operation of the vehicle may be determined. Based on the risk score, an advertising tier may be determined. The scope of media content available to a user and the frequency of presentation of advertising content during presentation of such media content may be based on the risk score. For example, safe driving behaviors may result in rewards which permit access to more media content, and/or safe driving behaviors may result in fewer advertisements being presented to a user on an in-vehicle display.

  • Patent number: 11463410
Abstract: Presented herein are techniques for establishing VPN services. According to example embodiments, an initial VPN message configured to establish a VPN session between the initiating device and a responding device is received at a VPN node. The initial VPN message is received from an initiating device. Data indicative of the initiating device and data indicative of the responding device is extracted from the initial VPN message. • Patent number: 11443230
Abstract: A trained model may be deployed to an Internet-of-Things (IOT) operational environment in order to ingest features and detect events extracted from network traffic. The model may be received and converted into a meta-language representation which is interpretable by a data plane engine. The converted model can then be deployed to the data plane and may extract features from network communications over the data plane. The extracted features may be fed to the deployed model in order to generate event classifications or device state classifications.

  • Patent number: 11388235
Abstract: Systems, methods, and machine-readable media are disclosed for collecting, maintaining, and retrieving use and limit data for connected resources, as well as determining an optimal location for creating a new volume (or volumes) on a storage platform and placing the volume at the determined location. A resource tracker collects resource use and/or limits data and stores it in a database. A volume placement service receives a volume deployment specification having constraints for creating a new volume. The volume placement service retrieves the data from the database. The volume placement service identifies an optimal location for the volume based at least in part on given constraints from the specification and the resource usage data. The system places the requested volume at the determined location.

  • Patent number: 11381639
Abstract: Request routing in a network of computing devices. Back-end nodes associated with a request router send load reports to request routers. To select a back-end node for processing a request, a request router determines, based on the reports, estimated loads and corresponding errors of the estimated loads for respective nodes. A load balancing technique may be selected, based on the estimated loads and corresponding errors (e.g., round robin may be selected if the significance of an average error outweighs the difference between estimated load values for the nodes, or least estimated load may be selected of the difference between load values is greater than the average error). The selected technique is applied to choose one of the nodes to process the request. Load probability distribution may also be used for request routing, in combination with or separate from the selection based on the estimated loads.

  • Patent number: 11381495
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods that may determine a net neutrality status. Server and agent of an internet network may each generate two flows of data that are transmitted/received by the server/agent, respectively. The first flow comprises an unspoofed data flow as may be transmitted over the network based on an HTTP GET command. The second flow may comprise a spoofed data flow. The second flow may emulate, or spoof, a video stream or other data flows that may be altered in the network. Server or agent may compare the first flow relative to the second flow to determine differences in performance data, from which a net neutrality status can be detected. Generally, after a measurement command is invoked, the system starts a downstream measurement. Then after completion of the downstream measurement, the system starts an upstream measurement.
