The docking mechanism includes a first docking connector on the manipulator arm and a second docking connector on the carriage. The first and the second docking connector may establish an electrical connection between the manipulator arm and the carriage when the manipulator arm is docked. The manipulator arm includes a connector for connecting the manipulator arm via a cable to an electric power supply, and be configured to supply the carriage with the electrical power via the electrical connection when the manipulator arm is docked.
Abstract: A suture anchor has a tubular body having an axial bore therethrough with one or more purchase enhancements on an exterior surface of the body adapted to enhance purchase of the body within a bone hole. These are preferably screw threads. A distal nose of the suture body has a smooth exterior surface. A length of suture passes down along the exterior surface over the purchase enhancements, over the distal nose, and up into the bore. The smooth exterior surface of the distal nose allows tension of the suture to be held by the engagement of the nose within the bone hole thus making it easier to obtain proper tension as the remaining portion is engaged into the bone hole to provide final fixation.

Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a housing including an actuator disposed thereon and an elongated shaft extending therefrom. The elongated shaft includes an end effector assembly including a pair of opposing jaw members including a knife channel defined therein. An articulation section is disposed between the housing and the end effector assembly and is configured to articulate the end effector assembly upon actuation of the actuator, the articulating section and a proximal end of the knife channel defining a first distance therebetween. A knife assembly includes a knife having a length, the proximal end including an engagement feature disposed thereon. A knife drive rod is configured to engage the engagement feature to secure the knife drive rod to the knife such that the distal end of the knife extends beyond the engagement feature and wherein the knife length is less than the length of the first distance.
Abstract: A nasal speculum, rhinoscope, designed for examination of the nasal cavity in both humans and animals, is characterized in that it is made from one piece of material and has a resilient arc-shaped connector (1) of the arms (2), said arms connected centrally to one another by means of a catch (3) located in opening (4), said arms extending beyond the said point of connection in the form of parallel shorter arms (5), said shorter arms terminating in appropriately shaped members (6) resembling a truncated cone, the speculum being also provided with a lip (7) positioning the arms of the speculum and with indentations (8) that prevent slipping of the hand when arms (2) are being pressed.

Abstract: A surgical robotic system has a robotic grasper, a user interface device (UID), and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the UID and the robotic grasper. The system detects a directive to engage or re-engage a teleoperation mode, determines that the system is in a non-teleoperation mode, receives a sequence of user actions through the UID, determines the UID matches a jaw angle or a grip force of the robotic grasper, and transitions into teleoperation mode. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
Abstract: This invention relates to an aneurysm occluder, and more particularly but not exclusively, to an endovascular aneurysm occluder that can be inserted into an aneurysm cavity by using endovascular surgical procedures. The aneurysm occluder has a deformable housing and an absorber or material that causes blood clotting made of an absorbent material in or attached to the housing.
Abstract: A robotic surgical system is disclosed including an end effector movable relative to a tissue of a patient. The robotic surgical system further includes a control circuit configured to determine a distance between the end effector and the tissue and cause the end effector to be transitioned between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration based on the distance.
