  • Patent number: 10052263
Abstract: A pacifying cleaning device is comprised, generally, of an elongated and rounded nipple portion attached to a guard portion, a set of bristles protruding from a raised lip displacer located atop the guard portion and located about the base of the nipple portion, and facing generally in the direction of the nipple portion, and a ring attached to the guard portion on the other side. The nipple portion of the pacifying device is inserted by a caregiver into an infant's mouth. The infant sucks on the nipple thereby becoming pacified. As the infant sucks on the nipple, the lip displacer acts to subtly separate an infant's lips so that the bristles attached to the lip displacer can work their way forward into the infant's mouth, between and adjacent to the infant's teeth and/or against the gums. The action of the bristles moving against the teeth and gums serve to clean them, removing contaminants and leaving the infant's teeth much cleaner and free of bacteria than they otherwise would be.

  • Patent number: 10045778
Abstract: A surgical tool for use with a surgical system is disclosed. The surgical tool comprises a housing containing three drive motors and three non-concentric rotatable output members, a modular shaft assembly comprising three rotatable drive shafts coupled to the three non-concentric rotatable output members, an end effector comprising a first jaw and a second jaw, and a motion conversion assembly. The motion conversion assembly is operably coupled to one of the drive motors and an axial drive assembly. The motion conversion assembly is configured to convert a rotational motion of one of the three rotatable drive shafts to an axial motion. The application of the axial motion to the axial drive assembly approximates the first jaw from an open position to a closed position and performs an actuation stroke within the end effector.

  • Patent number: 10039659
Abstract: Catheter for delivery of a medical device such as a stent or filter includes an inner tubular member and an outer tubular member movable relative to the inner tubular member. The outer tubular member is disposed at the distal end of the inner tubular member. The inner tubular member includes a fluid lumen defined therein, the fluid lumen having a fluid flow port directed to the exterior surface of the inner tubular member. A pressure chamber is defined by the inner tubular member, the outer tubular member, a proximal seal and a distal seal, and is in fluid communication with the fluid flow port, wherein fluid introduced through the fluid flow port and into the pressure chamber applies a force on the proximal seal to move the outer tubular member in a proximal direction allowing the medical device constrained by the outer tubular member to be released.

  • Patent number: 10039656
Abstract: A scaffold is formed by several segments joined or connected to each other by only at least one coupling. The coupling decouples the segments in the axial direction over a finite distance of axial displacement. The scaffold when implanted in a peripheral vessel reduces loading on rings of a segment due to the decoupling of the segments in the axial direction over the finite distance.

  • Patent number: 10016195
Abstract: Methods and devices are provided for securing tissue to bone. In general, a suture leader can have leading and trailing ends, and an inner passageway configured to receive a strand of suture therein. More specifically, the trailing end of the leader can be configured to receive the strand of suture therein to form an overlapping region of suture leader and suture. When the suture is positioned in the leader, an outer diameter of the leading end of the leader can be less than an outer diameter of the over lapping region. The leader can have a lower bending stiffness than the suture so that the leader can be more easily folded into a bend. In certain aspects, the suture leader can be formed from a substantially flexible, braided material so that the leader can be configured to contract when a pulling force is applied to the leader. In another embodiment, the suture leader can have a pre-formed crease configured to mate with a threading tool.

  • Patent number: 9993257
Abstract: A clot removal device has a segment that has two main struts that serve as a frame for holding a plurality of secondary struts. Each of the two main struts has a proximal end that is connected at a proximal point of the segment and extends along a generally circumferential path, with each main strut terminating at a separate connecting point that is distal from the proximal point. The connecting points are connected to each other to form a generally tubular structure defining an inner lumen. The plurality of secondary struts forms a lattice of cells, with each cell surrounded by four secondary struts. Two generally straight distal struts are connected to the lattice of cells at a distal end of the segment, and are connected to each other to form a distal point. A distal opening is defined by the cells adjacent the distal struts, the distal opening communicating with the lumen and terminating at the proximal point.
