  • Patent number: 5857705
Abstract: A perforated multiweb product in the form of a folded display product or insert has a width greater than the width of any single web forming a part thereof. Gutterless joints are used to allow the display to lay flat when opened. Perforations allow the insert to be removably bound within a book or magazine. In several embodiments, the displays have widths exceeding commercially available web widths. Alternatively, two or more webs are combined to yield web printed single or double magazine inserts or displays having an active viewing width in excess of seventy inches.

  • Patent number: 5839673
Abstract: Apparatus for grinding material which enters the grinder in a wet condition and is subject to drying heat at the grinder to leave moisture in the ground material directed for independently material separation so the propelling initially hot gases looses its temperature level before returning to the grinder. A portion of the returning gases carrying ground fine with moisture therein is directed into a bag house to recover the fines and a portion of the drying heat is directed into the bag house to independently maintain a temperature level above the dew point temperature level in the bag house to prevent moisture from plugging the bag house. The apparatus provides two circulation loops, each with its independent moisture control, and a common transport for collecting product from each loop.

  • Patent number: 5727740
Abstract: A method of removing fractional components from earthen material, including processes for removing precious carbon jewels from soil, precious metals from low grade ores, lead pellets from contaminated soil, and free sulphur from coal, is initiated with a pulverizing of the earthen material bearing the fractional component to be removed therefrom. Subsequent process steps vary, but include the washing of the pulverized material and then removing the fractional component through electromagnetic extraction, chemical dissolution and sieving. Since no contaminate is added to the residue remaining after removal of the fractional component, the residue can be returned to the ground from which the original material was obtained without effecting any additional pollution to the ground or water.

  • Patent number: 5725163
Abstract: A hydraulic control system for a gyratory crusher has a hydraulically supported main shaft. An inlet line to the cylinder is provided with a pressure relief valve. When the pressure in the cylinder, e.g. because of a disturbance, exceeds the opening pressure of the relief valve, fluid flows from the cylinder through the pressure relief valve to the lubricating circuit of the crusher and further to the return line. The safety system of the crusher is simple, reliable, and quick.

  • Patent number: 5697561
Abstract: A modular ice crusher assembly for use in conjunction with an ice storage unit can be easily removed for cleaning or maintenance. Two parallel brackets are used to mount and support the ice crusher below the discharge opening for the ice storage unit. A release mechanism allows the ice crusher to slide relative to the brackets between a first position in which the inlet chute of the ice crusher is in vertical alignment with the opening of the ice storage unit for receiving ice to be chipped, and a second position in which the ice crusher can be removed for cleaning or service. For example, the release mechanism can consist of a series of pins extending laterally outward from the ice crusher housing that slideably engage a corresponding series of inverted L-shaped slots in the brackets. During normal operation, the ice crusher is held in position below the ice storage unit because the pins are supported in the horizontal portions of the slots.
