  • Patent number: 5052240
Abstract: A structural arrangement for supporting a tilt steering device includes a steering column into which a steering shaft coupled at one end thereof with a steering wheel, is inserted so as to be rotatable. A lower steering column bracket is attached to the lower end portion of the steering column, and a connecting bracket is attached to the vehicle body, facing the lower steering column bracket. A shaft supports the lower steering column bracket to the connecting bracket so that each bracket is able to rotate with respect to each other. A rotation blocking element is located between the lower steering column bracket and the connecting bracket so that the bracket does not rotate with respect to each other when a force, which is larger than a predetermined force, is applied between each bracket.

  • Patent number: 5050441
Abstract: A centrifugally disengageable engine starter gear of the positive shift type that has a clutch to provide for driving and indexing of the starter gear, an internal mechanism keeps the clutch teeth in engagement during the indexing function, and a centrifugal separator separates the clutch teeth in an overrunning condition. The separator includes a plurality of flyweight members disposed in a like plurality of flyweight recesses provided in a driven member of the clutch. Radial displacement of the plurality of flyweight members axially displaces a thrust washer to separate the clutch teeth. A projection extending longitudinally from each web which separates the flyweight recesses prevents the flyweight members from disengaging from the flyweight recesses during an overrunning mode.

  • Patent number: 5029836
Abstract: An improved mechanism for feeding paper sheets from a stack by suction includes a manifold provided with a plurality of spaced sheet pick up devices carried by the manifold and in fluid communication therewith. The improved mechanism also includes motion orginating devices supporting said manifold for lifting the same and the suction mechanisms and a paper sheet held thereby from said stack and feeding it into the entry grippers or the printing roll feed mechanism of the printing machine. The motion originating devices are adjustable to pick up sheets at different locations relative to their leading edges while the printing machine is operating as contrasted with the heretofore necessary steps of shutting down the printing machine and making a mechanical adjustment in the feed linkage. The adjustment mechanism of the sheet register control extends to a point convenient to the printing machine operator.
