  • Patent number: 10440465
Abstract: A surface mounted loudspeaker design is provided that mitigates the interference between direct low frequency (LF) energy and reflected LF energy by breaking the LF energy from an LF driver into multiple paths using one or more of waveguides, driver load plates, and enclosure ports to diffuse the reflected energy and minimize frequency response errors. One or more embodiments of the present disclosure provides a loudspeaker have multiple acoustic exits strategically designed and located to generate, for example, three major wave front arrivals—2 source and 1 reflection—at target angles with favorable lag times, mitigating the cancellation notching and frequency errors that occur in conventional loudspeaker designs.

  • Patent number: 10405076
Abstract: The Present Invention is for a speaker system both standalone and in a phonograph that greatly reduces sympathetic vibration and feedback due to interaction of sound vibration transmitted from bass speakers to the chassis. The solution is twofold. First, the speakers are mounted in a substantially airtight enclosure. Second, the substantially airtight enclosure is suspended within the sound system chassis using elastic members in tension. A typical elastic member is an extension spring. In a phonograph, the elastic suspension almost completely isolates vibrations of the speaker enclosure from the phonograph chassis, thereby drastically reducing sympathetic vibration and feedback, and accommodating new depths of bass extension.

  • Patent number: 10397707
Abstract: A piezoelectric sounding component includes a diaphragm that includes a metal plate and a piezoelectric body formed on the metal plate. The diaphragm bends and vibrates according to application of voltage to the piezoelectric body. A casing includes a bottom wall, side walls which, in combination with the diaphragm define a sound chamber. The diaphragm is supported by a support portion formed in the casing such that outer peripheral edges of the diaphragm are spaced from inner surfaces of the casing. A terminal is located on the casing and is electrically connected to the diaphragm. At least two elastic adhesives join the diaphragm to the casing and respective conductive adhesives extend over its associated elastic adhesive from the diaphragm to a respective terminal. A frame-like sealing portion seals a gap between the outer peripheral edge of the diaphragm and the inner surfaces of the casing.

  • Patent number: 10341790
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods enabling self-fitting by a non-expert consumer. The method in some examples involves transmitting a wireless command by a computing device to a hearing device in-situ to produce a sequence of test audio signals corresponding to natural sound segments, while allowing the consumer to adjust fitting parameters based on perceptual assessment of hearing device output. The sound segments may represent a practical range of sounds within the normal human auditory range, with each sound segment selected to correspond to one or more fitting parameters of the programmable hearing device. The consumer is instructed to listen to the output of the in-situ hearing device and adjust controls on the personal computer's graphical user interface related to corresponding fitting parameters. The systems and methods disclosed herein allow dispensing or adjusting of hearing devices without requiring specialized instruments or clinical settings.
