  • Patent number: 12341680
Abstract: For a multi-tenant environment, some embodiments of the invention provide a novel method for forwarding tenant traffic through a set of service machines to perform a set of service operations on the tenant traffic. In some embodiments, the method performs a classification operation on a data message flow of a tenant, in order to identify a set of service operations to perform on the data message flow. For some data message flows, the classification operation selects the identified set of service operations from several candidate sets of service operations that are viable service operation sets for similar data message flows of the tenant. In some embodiments, the classification operation is based on a set of attributes associated with the data message flow (e.g., five tuple identifier, i.e., protocol and source and destination ports and IP addresses).

  • Patent number: 12328198
Abstract: A conferencing system disables one or more conference components for a participant that is in-transit during a conference. The conferencing system receives a request to generate a calendar entry for the conference in a timeslot and obtains conference preference information (CPI) for each participant for that timeslot. The conferencing system determines that at least one participant is in-transit during the timeslot and determines one or more conference settings based on the CPI of the participant that is in-transit and generates the calendar entry for the conference. Prior to, or during the conference, the conferencing system disables one or more conference components for the participant that is in-transit based on the one or more conference settings.

  • Patent number: 12323317
Abstract: A network device may originate a route, and may designate the route as a first colored route having a first color. The network device may advertise the first colored route to a first intermediate network device to cause the first intermediate network device to propagate the first colored route to an ingress network device over a first colored border gateway protocol session. The network device may designate the route as a second colored route having a second color, and may advertise the second colored route to a second intermediate network device to cause the second intermediate network device to propagate the second colored route to the ingress network device over a second colored border gateway protocol session.

  • Patent number: 12301380
Abstract: Protocol detection circuits for detecting the field device protocol of a field device attached to a channel having a data line are sequentially connected to the data line by a controller that communicates to the field device through the protocol detection circuits. The protocol detection circuits are disconnected from the field device after protocol detection is completed. The channel may be one of a number of channels; the controller may also connect and disconnect the protocol detection circuits from the one channel whereby the protocol detection circuits can be used with any channel. After the protocol of the field device is identified a protocol adapter can be inserted into the channel to enable data conversion between the field device protocol and an another protocol used by the channel for data transmission.

  • Patent number: 12301406
Abstract: Methods and systems for resilient network communication are provided. In one aspect, a network includes multiple West NEs, spine elements, and East NEs. Each element has multiple physical communication interfaces. A working communication path connects the West NE to the East NE through a spine element. A protection communication path connects that West NE to that East NE through a different spine element. The working and protection communication paths terminate at the West NE and East NE at maintenance end points. A protection group is formed of the working communication path and the protection communication path. The protection group maintains a state designating an active path and a standby path. Maintenance groups at the spine elements monitor continuity messaging for their associated maintenance end points to determine network health. Faults between the West NEs and East NEs are detected through RDI and CCM.

  • Patent number: 12289240
Abstract: An edge services controller may use a service scheduling algorithm to deploy services on Network Interface Cards (NICs) of a NIC fabric while incrementally scheduling services. The edge services controller may assign services to specific nodes depending on their available resources on these nodes. Available resources may include CPU compute, DPU compute, node bandwidth, etc. The edge services controller may also consider the distance between the services that communicate with each other (i.e., hop count between nodes if two communicating services are placed on separate nodes) and the weight of communication between the services. Two services that communicate heavily with each other may consume more bandwidth, and putting them further apart is more detrimental than keeping them closer to each other, i.e., reducing the hop count between each other depending on the bandwidth consumption due to their inter-service communications.

  • Patent number: 12289289
Abstract: This disclosure describes example techniques for automatically configuring domain name system (DNS) servers to handle custom hostnames assigned to hosted zones. The techniques monitor DNS record sets of the hosted zones for special DNS records registering new hostnames. When such a special DNS record is detected, the central DNS server checks a database to see if that hostname is already assigned to another hosted zone. If the hostname is not assigned to another hosted zone, the central DNS server automatically updates its own DNS configuration data pair the new hostname with the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the hosted zone requesting the hostname. This allows the central DNS server to resolve future DNS queries for the new hostname by routing requests to the proper zone.

  • Patent number: 12289375
Abstract: A system and method is presented for sending a message between devices in a communication network. The system includes a first processor and a first memory in communication with the first processor. The first processor executes instructions stored in the first memory to divide the message into a plurality of segments according to a first procedure and assign a respective sequence number to each segment, and to construct a plurality of packets. Each packet comprises a payload and a header. The payload comprises at least one segment. The first processor further establishes a plurality of parallel socket connections, each to a second processor, and passes respective packets to respective parallel socket connections. The parallel socket connections are selected according to a second procedure, for transmission to the second processor until a determined number of segments has been successfully received and processed by the second processor.

  • Patent number: 12284056
Abstract: In an example, a network device may receive, from a client device, a multicast query for a service advertised by a host device connected to another network device. The network device is configured as a first Virtual tunnel endpoint (VTEP) and the other network device is configured as a second VTEP in an overlay network. The network device may determine whether a host name, of the host device, corresponding to the service name in the multicast query is present in a resource record. In response to determining that the host name is present in the resource record, the network device may identify, from the resource record, an overlay network path corresponding to the host name. The network device may encapsulate the multicast query based on an overlay encapsulation protocol implemented at the first VTEP and route, the encapsulated multicast query, via the overlay network path, to the host device.

  • Patent number: 12278771
Abstract: A method for latency control in a communication network is disclosed. The method includes identifying that a service is currently associated with a user device associated with the communication network, wherein a deviation between a latency requirement of the service and an internal latency performance of the communication network is bounded, and dynamically adjusting a configuration of the communication network for the service. In some embodiments, the dynamic adjustment is performed only for user devices associated with services with bounded deviation between the latency requirement of the service and the internal latency performance of the communication network. In some embodiments, dynamically adjusting the configuration of the communication network comprises controlling the communication network to provide latencies below a maximum latency threshold for the service. In some embodiments, the dynamic adjustment of the configuration of the communication network is based on the current traffic load.

  • Patent number: 12255784
Abstract: It is enabled that network load prediction for executing scale-out of an element included in a communication system is started at an appropriate timing. A policy manager (90) determines whether network load prediction is required based on performance index value data and a determination criterion which is based on a usage amount of computer resources. An AI (70) starts network load prediction in response to a determination that the network load prediction is required. After the network load prediction is started, the policy manager (90) determines whether scale-out is required based on a network load prediction result. The policy manager (90), a life cycle manager (94), a container manager (78), and a configuration manager (76) execute scale-out of the element included in the communication system in response to a determination that the scale-out is required.

  • Patent number: 12231310
Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to a centralized computing system that interacts with a plurality of data centers, each having an edge server. Each edge server obtains sensor information from a plurality of sensors and processes the sensor information to detect an imminent shutdown and sends emergency data to a centralized processing entity when detected. In order to make a decision, the edge server processes the sensor data based on dynamic sensor thresholds and dynamic prioritizer data by syncing with the centralized computing system. Because of the short time duration to report emergency data before an imminent complete shutdown, an edge server may utilize a quantum data pipeline and quantum data storage as a key medium for all data transfer in a normal condition and at the time of emergency for internally transporting processed sensor data and providing the emergency data to the centralized processing entity.
