  • Patent number: 11673003
Abstract: Radiation treatment planning includes accessing values of parameters such as a number of beams to be directed into sub-volumes in a target, beam directions, and beam energies. Information that specifies limits for the radiation treatment plan are accessed. The limits include a limit on irradiation time for each sub-volume outside the target. Other limits can include a limit on irradiation time for each sub-volume in the target, a limit on dose rate for each sub-volume in the target, and a limit on dose rate for each sub-volume outside the target. The values of the parameters are adjusted until the irradiation time for each sub-volume outside the target satisfies the maximum limit on irradiation time.

  • Patent number: 11654300
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods for radiotherapy treatment plan optimization for irradiating one or more target regions using both an internal therapeutic radiation source (ITRS) and an external therapeutic radiation source (ETRS). One variation of a method comprises iterating through ITRS radiation dose values and ETRS radiation dose values to attain a cumulative dose that meets prescribed dose requirements. In some variations, an ITRS is an injectable compound that has a targeting backbone and a radionuclide, and images acquired using an imaging compound that has the same targeting backbone as the injectable compound can be used to calculate the radiation dose deliverable using the injectable ITRS, and also to calculate firing filters for delivering radiation using a biologically-guided radiation therapy (BGRT) system. Image data acquired from a previous treatment session may be used to adapt the dose provided by an ITRS and/or ETRS for a future treatment session.

  • Patent number: 11628311
Abstract: A tumor positioning method includes obtaining projection images of a tumor at different angles; and registering the projection images with an initial reference image to obtain a first offset. If it is determined that a virtual reacquisition operation needs to be performed according to the first offset, the method further includes generating a first reference image according to the first offset; and registering the projection images with the first reference image to obtain a second offset. If it is determined that the operation does not need to be performed according to the second offset, the method further includes outputting a first accumulated offset being a sum of the first and second offsets. The method may solve problems of long time consuming and the service life of a treatment couch and acquisition devices being reduced due to repeatedly moving the treatment couch and repeatedly acquiring the X-ray projection images.

  • Patent number: 11612761
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for iteratively training artificial intelligence models using reinforcement learning techniques. With each iteration, a training agent applies a random radiation therapy treatment attribute corresponding to the radiation therapy treatment attribute associated with previously performed radiation therapy treatments when an epsilon value indicative of a likelihood of exploration and exploitation training of the artificial intelligence model satisfies a threshold. When the epsilon value does not satisfy the threshold, the agent generates, using an existing policy, a first predicted radiation therapy treatment attribute, and generates, using a predefined model, a second predicted radiation therapy treatment attribute. The agent applies one of the first predicted radiation therapy treatment attribute or the second predicted radiation therapy treatment attribute that is associated with a higher reward.
