The method includes: executing the integrated administration program of the host apparatus; receiving function information on at least one image forming apparatus; storing the received function information on the image forming apparatus; determining whether the function corresponding to the stored function information on the image forming apparatus is compatible with the integrated administration program or a sub application program within the integrated administration program; and separately displaying the integrated administration program or the sub application program corresponding to a determination result.

Abstract: When receiving data in a unit of frame, each frame including a plurality of bits, based on a spread clock signal, a receiving time per bit of receiving data is calculated based on a receiving rate, and the change cycle of the spread clock signal is adjusted according to the receiving time per bit.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for allowing a user to create a document processing job (e.g., a print job, a scan job, a copy job, fax job) at a mobile device instead of at a document processing device, such as a printer, scanner, or copier. A cloud service interacts with the mobile device to retrieve job settings data from the mobile device. The cloud service generates a job identifier, associates the job identifier with job settings associated with the job settings data, and sends the job identifier to the mobile device, which displays the job identifier to the user. The user later enters the job identifier at the document processing device, which, in turn, uses the job identifier to request the job settings from the cloud service. The cloud service identifies the job settings based on the job identifier and sends the job settings to the document processing device.

Abstract: In a method or device to control at least one property of a print image printed on a substrate, a first evaluation period is defined. A measurement value is determined with aid of an optical sensor which measures at least one determination point on the substrate within the first evaluation period, and also determining a position of the determination point within the first evaluation period. The determined measurement value is compared with a preset reference value. Depending on a result of the comparison, an inking of the substrate is controlled for the print image in at least one subsequent second evaluation period at a point within the second evaluation period which has a position within the second evaluation period that corresponds to said position of the determination point in said first evaluation period.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a job control unit configured to impose an execution restriction on a job if the number of simultaneously-executed jobs on a function-to-function basis reaches an upper limit value; a guaranteed job count setting unit configured to set a guaranteed job count, wherein the guaranteed job count provides a guaranteed number of simultaneously-executable jobs on a function-to-function basis; and a shared job count setting unit configured to set a shared job count that can be allocated in common to respective functions, which provides the number of simultaneously-executable jobs.

Abstract: A processor determines a combination of the result of a comparison between a statistical value indicating the graininess of small dots and a predetermined reference value SDa and the result of a comparison between a statistical value indicating the graininess of large dots and a predicted value SDp. This combination shows which factors degrade image quality and which image forming conditions should be corrected and to what extent. Thus, the processor selects the image forming conditions to be corrected based on a combination of these comparison results, determines their correction values, and corrects the selected image forming conditions using the correction values. This makes it possible to properly correct the image forming conditions that correspond to the factors affecting image quality.

Abstract: Systems and methods consistent with some embodiments presented provide methods for the concurrent generation and parallel rasterization of at least one display list in a memory pool comprising frame buffer memory and display list memory, wherein the display list comprises a plurality of equal sized display list blocks, the method comprises: monitoring the completion status of the display list blocks; monitoring the availability of rasterization processes; assigning a completed display list block to an available rasterization process; and rasterizing the display list block using the available rasterization process. In some embodiments, rasterization processes may run concurrently and operate on distinct blocks corresponding to distinct bands. Rasterized display list blocks are returned to the memory pool. In some embodiments, each concurrently executing rasterization process may execute on a distinct core of a multi-core processor.

Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes a duplex path to guide a document, which is read by a first reading unit and a second reading unit. The document is subjected to a primary reading operation using the first and the second reading units, and the document is then guided via the duplex path and passes through the first reading unit and the second reading unit. At this time, the document is subjected to a secondary reading operation using the first and the second reading units, and a control unit compares image information obtained by the first reading unit and the second reading unit in the primary reading operation with image information obtained by the first reading unit and the second reading unit in the secondary reading operation. The control unit also determines whether the first reading unit and the second reading unit are normally operated.

Abstract: Methods and systems receive an instruction to print an accumulation e-mail message through a graphic user interface of a computerized device. The accumulation e-mail comprises an original e-mail message and one or more reply e-mail messages made to the original e-mail message. The methods and systems automatically identify boundaries between the e-mail messages within the accumulation e-mail using the computerized device; automatically truncate the original e-mail message and one or more of the reply e-mail messages from the accumulation e-mail message to create a modified accumulation e-mail message using the computerized device; and automatically print the modified accumulation e-mail message using a printing device.

Abstract: A printing apparatus or printing system that uses multiple print engines to form an image on a substrate. The printing apparatus or printing system may be a surface printing system or a reverse printing system. Each of the multiple print engines has at least one color station. The color stations are arranged in the print engines and between the multiple print engines based on whether the printing system is a surface printing system or a reverse printing system to control the order in which colorant is formed on a substrate. Multiple print engines allow for, among other things, a greater color gamut and therefore assists in expansion of the standard color gamut.

Abstract: Electronic systems, such as printing systems, often use components that have a memory. The integral memory can be used to store information about the component. In some printing systems this memory includes storing a portion that stores a value indicative of an amount of a consumable that has been used. Discloses is a method and system for updating a memory that is integral to a component within a printing system. The value stored in the memory can be read to determine an amount of a consumable used. Alternatively, when a specific value is stored in the memory the printing system can deactivate the component.

Abstract: A computer-readable storage medium and computer-implemented method of distributing a print-job including receiving, from a printer, a request to send a print job to the printer, converting the print job from a first format to a second format, sending the print job to the printer in the second format, wherein the second format is compatible with the printer, and wherein the second format is selected from a plurality of different formats depending on the identity of the printer from which the request to send a print job was received.
