Abstract: Technology is described herein for facilitating a user's interaction with a digital ink document. The technology internally represents the ink document using a data structure having a hierarchy of nodes. The nodes describe respective elements in the ink document. The technology leverages the data structure to identify a set of nodes that grows upon the user's repeated selection of a particular part of the ink document. At each stage of the selection, the technology highlights a set of elements in the ink document that correspond to the current set of identified nodes. According to another illustrative aspect, the technology produces the data structure by modifying an original data structure provided by a text analysis engine. The technology performs this task with the objective of accommodating structured interaction by the user with the ink document.

Abstract: A cross-correlation system includes control circuitry that obtains first sensor data of a first user from a radio detection and ranging system. A first portable device carried by the first user is detected based on the first sensor data of the first user. Second sensor data is obtained from the first portable device based on the detection of the first portable device of the first user. The first sensor data and the second sensor data are cross-correlated to obtain cross-correlated information of the first user. A first gesture specific to the first user is recognized based on the cross-correlated information. A first controllable device is identified from a plurality of controllable devices and a first action that is to be executed at the identified first controllable device, based on the first gesture. The identified first controllable device is controlled to execute the first action based on the first gesture.

Abstract: A method of coordinating engagement with a laundry appliance may include receiving one or more table conditions from an owner account for a notification table. The method may also include receiving a communication request from a remote user device of a guest user and recording a guest account to the notification table based on the received communication request. The method may still further include receiving a status signal from the laundry appliance and transmitting a notice signal to the guest account based on the status signal and the one or more table conditions.

Abstract: Computer implemented systems and methods for permanently displaying banner advertisements to a smartphone user, wherein the system provides logic and content to display such advertisements using a process which cannot be disabled by the user, and which does not require actions for the user, and which does not run via a standard-type application which the user would download. The banner ads are constantly displayed and the operating system, and other applications are not presented as full screen applications because the system of the present invention reserves screen space for banner ad placement. In one embodiment, a display driver used by the operating system is configured to reserve banner space on the screen and the “home” application and all other applications are given spatial dimensions representative of the normal viewable area in which those applications use to display information to the user with banner space reserved for display of advertising content.

A first user interaction input causing a reduced graphic distance between the left graphic slider user interface element and the right graphic slider user interface element is received and identified. The reduced graphic distance is determined to satisfy a minute mode triggering distance threshold and in response to determining that the reduced graphic distance satisfies the minute mode triggering distance threshold, the gas concentration data point graphic section is caused to display a second data set in a minute mode.

Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatus, and tangible non-transitory carrier media encoded with one or more computer programs for classifying an item. In accordance with particular embodiments, a labeling task is issued to workers participating in a crowdsourcing system. The labeling task includes evaluating an inferred classification that includes one or more of the class labels in a hierarchical classification taxonomy based at least in part on a description of the item and the class labels in the classification. Evaluation decisions are received from the crowdsourcing system. The classification is validated based on the evaluation decisions to obtain a validation result. The validating includes applying at least one consensus criterion to an aggregation of the received evaluation decisions. Data corresponding to one or more of the class labels in the classification is routed to respective destinations based on the validation result.

Abstract: Described are techniques for sensor agnostic gesture detection. The techniques include recording a gesture using sensor output from a first user device to a first user profile associated with a ubiquitous gesture agent. The techniques further include associating the gesture with a triggering threshold indicating the gesture and based on the sensor output, and a processor-executable action that is executable by one of a plurality of user devices associated with the user profile. The techniques further include transforming the triggering threshold into a corresponding triggering threshold for a different type of sensor. The techniques further include identifying the gesture using data from the different type of sensor that satisfies the corresponding triggering threshold. The techniques further include implementing, by the one of the plurality of user devices, the processor-executable action associated with the gesture.

Abstract: A system and related method are provided to receive user streaming interaction data (USID) and determine a context of the interaction. Processed stream data is stored, and emotion information (EI) is created by analyzing the processed stream data, producing an EI-tagged interaction record. An overall first EI value (EIV) reflects a value of an EI at a first time, and an overall second EIV reflects a value of an EI at a second time. Indicators related to the EIs are provided on a device of a service representative (SR). When the second EIV is more negative than the first EIV, the system communicates a recommended action to the service representative that is dependent upon on the context of the interaction and the EI.

The profile of the user includes preferences of the user for the vehicle and learned behavior data of the user for the vehicle. Confirming, by one or more of said process entities, an identity of the user. Identifying, by one or more of said process entities, the preferences of the user responsive to confirming said identity of the user. Sending, by one or more of said process entities, the preferences of the user for the vehicle to electronics of the vehicle. The preferences including an assignment of control functions and associated display interface data to be rendered on display screen of a plurality of dials of a control interface of the vehicle.
