  • Patent number: 11583640
Abstract: A medicine vaporizer apparatus comprises a base with an upwardly extending heating element disposed within a rigid tube. Air is drawn into the rigid tube through an aperture in the rigid tube below the heating element and directed over the heating element to then be drawn through a flexible tube and through a filter or screen comprising an amount of medicine. Heated air flows over the amount of medicine and vaporizes the same, wherein the medicine is thereafter drawn into the lungs of a patient pulling the air therethrough with his or her mouth. Thermal separation and cooling of various parts prevents accidental injury to users and provides an inert air path for the air therethrough. The apparatus further provides controlled incineration and/or vaporization of the medicine.

  • Patent number: 11559622
Abstract: The wound therapy apparatus may include a wound interface sealingly securable to the skin surface around a wound bed to encloses the wound bed within an enclosed space that is fluid-tight. The wound interface may be sufficiently deformation resistant to distend at least a portion of the wound bed into the enclosed space when pressure p0 within the enclosed space is less than ambient pressure pamb. Fluid may be communicated with the enclosed space when the wound interface is sealingly secured to the skin surface in order to vary a pressure p0 within the enclosed space periodically over the pressure range pmin?p0?pmax. The variation of the pressure p0 may distend the wound bed into communication with a pad received within the enclosed space and decreases the wound bed contact with the pad. Related methods of use of the wound therapy apparatus are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11540509
Abstract: In a method of ventilating excised lungs, a ventilation gas is supplied to an airway of a lung and a vacuum is formed around the lung. A quality of the vacuum is varied between a lower level and a higher level to cause the lung to breathe, while the pressure of the ventilation gas supplied to the airway is regulated to maintain a positive airway pressure in the airway of the lung. The vacuum may be cyclically varied between the two vacuum levels. The levels may be maintained substantially constant over a period of time, or one or both of the lower and higher levels may be adjusted during ventilation. The lung may be placed in a sealed chamber, and a vacuum is formed in the chamber around the lung.
