  • Patent number: 10512051
Abstract: Systems and methods herein create unified synchronization to support various network deployments in which multiple UE states (e.g., idle, connected, etc) and multiple synchronization signal periodicities (5 ms, 20 ms, etc.) and standalone/non-standalone networks may exist. Unified synchronization may be achieved at least by designating transmit frames as being even or odd. With such a designation, when a network transmits synchronization signals (SS) comprising the most significant bits (MSB)s of a frame's system frame number (SFN), a UE of any state may receive the SS according to any periodicity and blind decode the SFN's least significant bits (LSBs) with less complexity as compared to traditional systems and methods due at least to the even or odd frame designations.

  • Patent number: 10477493
Abstract: Maintaining time alignment with multiple carriers is contemplated. A group of uplink carriers (UL CC sets) that operate with a single Timing Advance (TA) may be determined, and a TA value may be applied to a specific UL CC set. A wireless transmit/receive unit's (WTRU) capability of using multiple TAs may define a group index of a few bits for each UL CC set. A TA Command received in a Random Access Response message may be used to apply the TA value to each UL carrier of the UL CC set. The WTRU may determine which UL CC set the TA value applies to based on which DL carrier the command was transmitted from. The WTRU may determine which UL CC set the TA value applies to based on the Group Index being explicitly provided in the command. The WTRU may release multi-CC configurations upon Time Alignment Timer (TAT) expiry.

  • Patent number: 10461992
Abstract: In one embodiment, detection of failures in a network device can be achieved by obtaining a last hop of partial traceroutes. For example, the last hops of the partial traceroutes detected in a time period can be sorted by frequency of occurrence. Multiple clusters can be generated, one with last hops that are most frequent and at least one other with the last hops that are less frequent. The hop with the highest frequency and the last hop with the second highest frequency can be compared. If the last hop with the highest frequency exceeds the second highest frequency by a predetermined amount, then the last hop with the highest frequency is alarmable.

  • Patent number: 10454835
Abstract: Systems and methods of performing rate limiting traffic shaping with a time-indexed data structure in a network device are provided. A network interface driver of the network device can received packets at the packet layer of a network host from a plurality of applications. The network interface driver can prevent one of the applications from sending additional packets for transmission until the application received a transmission completion notification indicating a packet previously forwarded to the packet layer of the network host has been transmitted. The network interface driver can process the received packets to determine a transmission time for each packet based on at least on rate limit policy. The network interface driver can store an identifier associated with the respective packet in a time-indexed data structure at a position associated with the transmission time determined for the packet.

  • Patent number: 10420007
Abstract: A battery-powered node within a wireless mesh network performs energy-aware packet routing based on multiple factors. The battery powered node computes, for a given link to an adjacent node, the energy needed to transmit a packet to the adjacent node. The battery-powered node also determines the amount of battery energy remaining in the adjacent node. Based on these two factors, the battery powered node computes a link cost associated with the link to the adjacent node. The battery-powered node performs a similar computation for all adjacent nodes and then forwards packets via these adjacent nodes based on the associated link costs. The battery-powered node also maintains a table of routes through adjacent nodes, and reroutes packets through different adjacent nodes in response to link failures.
