  • Patent number: 12692389
Abstract: A biodegradable polyurethane foam comprised of components polyol, isocyanate, blowing agent, catalyst, surfactant, and a non-starch, polycaprolactone-based biodegradable solid additive equal to or no greater than 3% of the foam by weight has a same function and performance characteristic profile as a standard polyurethane foam made with the same components and percentages by weight but without the biodegradable solid additive and made using a continuous line pouring method. The biodegradable polyurethane foam has a same durability as the standard polyurethane foam but degrades into inert humus, carbon dioxide, and methane only when subject to landfill conditions.

  • Patent number: 12649815
Abstract: Rigid polyurethane foams are made using a mixture of polyols that includes 4 to 33% by weight of triisopropanolamine. The mixture of polyols is reacted with an aromatic polyisocyanate in the presence of a blowing agent, a foam-stabilizing surfactant and a urethane catalyst to produce the foam. The foams are useful as thermal insulation layers in multilayer thermal insulation assemblies such as appliance cabinets and walls for industrial and commercial freezers and refrigerators.

  • Patent number: 12588736
Abstract: A sole for footwear and a method of manufacturing them comprising at least one polymeric foam expanded through supercritical fluid (SCF). The polymeric foam may have a plurality of holes or cavities introduced into the first surface of the polymer material prior to supercritical fluid expansion, wherein a relative proportion of the plurality of holes or cavities increases with a thickness of the polymer material. A portion of the polymeric foam having at least one hole or cavity may be translucent.

  • Patent number: 11987684
Abstract: Components for articles of footwear and athletic equipment including a foam are provided. The foam portion of the components and articles include a composition which includes a thermoplastic copolyester, the composition having a foam structure. A polymer layer is provided on at least on surface of the foam portion. The polymer layer can control or reduce the water uptake of the foam portion. Methods of making the compositions, foams, and components are provided, as well as methods of making an article of footwear including one of the foam components. In some aspects, the foams and foam components can be made by injection molding, or injection molding followed by compression molding.
