  • Patent number: 7053320
Abstract: A switch device is configured by engaging a plurality of switches in a cam section of an operating member in a manner such that a detecting section can detect positions of operation of the operating member based on electric ON/OFF states of the switches. With this arrangement, it is possible to detect the positions of operation of the operating member by only detecting the electric ON/OFF states of the switches wherever the position of operation the operating member may be. Consequently, a switch device that is simple in construction and capable of reliably detecting positions of operation of the operating member can be provided.

  • Patent number: 7045725
Abstract: A safety sensor for a power operated overhead door includes an elongated housing having an elongated pathway which is a circular in cross sections along its length, with the greatest diameter of the pathway being at it midpoint. Form the midpoint, the pathway tapers downwardly in opposite directions, with a recess portion at each opposite end. In each recess portion there are two spaced electrical contacts. A ball bearing is disposed in the elongated pathway. The sensor is mounted horizontally to an overhead door, and if the door is tilted from the horizontal, the ball bearing rolls to the lower recess area, thereby establishing electrical contact which operates to stop the movement of the door. The obstruction to the door is then cleared, and the system is reset.

  • Patent number: 7041920
Abstract: Structure and method for forming a switchable shunt for a suspension assembly having conductive, insulating and metal base layers. The shunt includes a bridge in the conductive layer with either a continuous connection or small gap between ends of the bridge. The continuous connection of the bridge is severed either by temporarily moving the lands out of their original plane by stretching and rupturing the bridge or by shearing the continuous connection of the bridge. For the sheared or gapped bridge, at least one end of the bridge is moved out of plane, compressed and elongated. When released, the separated ends of the bridge overlap and contact each other to form a normally-closed switch. To subsequently open the switchable shunt, at least one of the lands is moved out of plane to physically and electrically open the connection between the separated and overlapped ends of the bridge.

  • Patent number: 7038148
Abstract: An operating device of an electronic apparatus contains a rotatable operating knob protruding from a panel and stopper means for preventing the rotation of the operating knob. When the power of the electronic apparatus is turned off, the rotation of the operating knob is prevented by a stopper part of the stopper means. When the power of the electronic apparatus is turned on, the rotational operation of the operating knob is can be performed by releasing the stopper part of the stopper means. Therefore, when the power of the electronic apparatus is turned off, that is, when the adjustment of the electronic apparatus is not needed, even when a user inadvertently touches the operating knob, the operating knob does not rotate. Thus, a previously set value is prevented from being inadvertently changed.

  • Patent number: 7026559
Abstract: A switch has insulation displacement connectors on a connector portion of the switch body. Such an insulation displacement connector has two tines with an open-ended slot for receiving a wire transverse to the slot. When the wire is pushed along the length of the slot, insulation is displaced and there is electrical contact made with the connector. An insulating flap is hinged to the switch body for rotation between an open position, an intermediate catch position at an acute angle from the connector portions, and a latched position approximately parallel to the connector portion. Rotating the flap from the catch position to the latched position presses wires into the insulation displacement connectors. Each of the connectors has a generally keyhole-shaped opening for receiving the wire. The axis of the hinge between the flap and body is approximately parallel to the length of the wire in the connector and is integrally molded with the switch body and flap.
