Abstract: A fishing line signalling device for attachment to a fishing rod and receiving the fishing line in a manner that a visual or audible alarm or both will be activated when the fish strikes or takes the bait thereby alerting the person using the fishing rod to the fact that a fish has taken the bait or hook. The fishing line signal is battery operated, provided with a switch to selectively actuate either or both the visual and audible signals and is adaptable to any size fishing rod, used with any type of reel and allows a person to fish with more than one rod at a time and is suitable for trolling, still water fishing, night fishing, ice fishing and fresh or salt water fishing.
Abstract: A winding machine for coil bobbins in which a one-piece or divided index carriage is reciprocally movable in its axial direction and reversibly rotatable about the axis. A plurality of slide plates are supported on the carriage for reciprocally slidable movement axially along the carriage and equally angularly spaced from each other, a plurality of bobbin mount jigs project outwardly in one row from each of the slide plates in equally spaced relationship, and a plurality of part guide members corresponding in number to the number of the bobbin mount jigs are provided to guide wire onto and about bobbins loaded on the bobbin mount jigs. A common soldering unit solders wire to the bobbins, a common bobbin feed unit is provided to feed bobbins to the jigs, a product discharge mechanism discharges complete full coil bobbins from the machine and a cut unit is optionally provided to cut wire to a predetermined length.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing a bulb wherein a bead mount and a glass bulb are set in a recess in an upper surface of a heater arranged inside a hermetically sealed chamber, a first gas comprised of one component of a composition of a sealing gas in the glass bulb or an inert gas excluding the sealing gas is supplied to the chamber at a predetermined pressure after the chamber is evacuated, a second gas comprised of a remaining component of the sealing gas or all of the components thereof is sprayed in a space between the glass bulb and the bead mount at a pressure higher than that of the first gas to exhaust the first gas from the space within the glass bulb. The heater is energized after the substitution of the gas within the space of the bulb is performed, or while the gas substitution in the space is being performed, in order to heat and melt an edge portion of the bead mount and glass bulb to seal the glass bulb to the bead mount with the second gas sealed within the glass bulb.
Abstract: A novel mouse trap is provided herein. The trap includes a base, a sensing platform having a forward end and a rearward extension and pivotable as a first class lever about an intermediate fulcrum. A spring loaded garrot wire is movable between a spring-load position extending rearwardly of the base and a spring-released, tripped position extending forwardly of the base, holding means for holding the garrot wire in its spring-loaded position and trip bar means for releasing the holding means to allow the garrot wire to move to the spring-released, tripped position. The essence of the invention resides in the provision of a combined holding member and trip bar, of a particular specified shape and having one essential element extending rearwardly from the sensing platform and lying beneath the garrot wire when the garrot wire is in the spring-loaded position. The linkage is pivotal about a fulcrum, and is held to the garrot wire by the holding member.
Abstract: A crab trap is provided and consists of a plurality of collapsible doors. Each collapsible door is pivotally coupled to one side of a wire mesh bottom panel and slideably coupled to supports for coupling a wire mesh top panel to the bottom panel. A flexible hoist line is connected at each end to each collapsible door. When the crab trap is submerged within water the collapsible doors will collapse opening the crab trap allowing a crab to enter. When the crab trap is pulled up by the hoist line the collapsible doors will slide up closing the crab trap entrapping the crab within.
Abstract: A special fishing hook and bait system, wherein one or more barbed hooks are incorporated on a shank, and wherein the preferred embodiment employs on the shank spaced from the hook barb a removably mounted prepared fish food package forming the bait, that is made in the form of a tube having therein separate bait compartments which are used sequentially as needed by a fisherman, by puncturing the package end nearest the hook barb.
Abstract: A troll line stabilizer disclosed herein includes a pair of triangular wings with a dihedral angle of about 100 degrees therebetween. A towing rod is connected to the wings at a point so as to create a downward force with respect to the direction of motion.
Abstract: The device is generally U-shaped and has first and second side portions and an end portion joining the side portions. The device has a first section near the end portion with a width between the side portions at least as great as the diameter of the line, a second section adjacent the first section with a width between the side portions slightly less than the diameter of the line, and a third section adjacent the second section with a width between the side portions at least as great as the diameter of the line. One end of one side portion opposite the end portion is joined to the hooked item. When the hooked item is a lure, the device is joined to the lure generally at one end thereof and the other end of the device is positioned over the center of gravity of the lure and adapted for securing the line thereto so that when the lure depends from the line it will have a generally horizontal disposition.
Abstract: A novel multi-function fishing sinker embodying compact and simple means for locking circumventingly and captively yet freely slidable, to any point between the extremities of the line supporting the heavy weight of a downrigger. The lock is rotarily operated by a torque lever which is an extension of a centrally located threaded cylinder and doubles as a hitch for attachment of the trailing portion of a trolling line.
Abstract: A wire form shape is presented which may be used in the manufacture of a fishing lure as both a line tie means and a hook attachment means. The wire form includes a 270.degree. loop at one end which cooperates with assembly locating pins within a fishing lure body and a 180.degree. loop near the other end of the wire which forms a means to suspend hooks or tie a line.
Abstract: System for assembling a divider box from a main body blank, separate end panels and at least one divider panel. The end and divider panels are delivered to a container-erecting station where the panels are secured to the main body blank while the container is being erected.
Abstract: A soldering method comprises forming bubbles by blowing gas into a pool of molten solder, and striking the bubbles against a printed circuit board with electric and or electronic components temporarily fixed thereto to solder them to each other.
