  • Patent number: 9652719
Abstract: A system and computer program product that facilitates authoring of a Bayesian Belief Networks by: accessing text content stored in a content storage device; identifying statements within said accessed text content indicating a dependence relation; extracting said statements indicating said dependence relation from said text content; and aggregating said extracted statements into a form suitable for representation as a BBN network structure. To identify statements indicating a dependence relation, the system identifies one or more lexical and semantic attributes of variables within a text unit indicating a conditional dependence relation between two or more variables. The system further processes the text content to extract probabilistic information and probability statements and aggregate the probability statements into a quantitative layer of the BBN structure.

  • Patent number: 9619748
Abstract: An intelligent control system based on an explicit model of cognitive development (Table 1) performs high-level functions. It comprises up to O hierarchically stacked neural networks, Nm, . . . , Nm+(O?1), where m denotes the stage/order tasks performed in the first neural network, Nm, and O denotes the highest stage/order tasks performed in the highest-level neural network. The type of processing actions performed in a network, Nm, corresponds to the complexity for stage/order m. Thus N1 performs tasks at the level corresponding to stage/order 1. N5 processes information at the level corresponding to stage/order 5. Stacked neural networks begin and end at any stage/order, but information must be processed by each stage in ascending order sequence. Stages/orders cannot be skipped. Each neural network in a stack may use different architectures, interconnections, algorithms, and training methods, depending on the stage/order of the neural network and the type of intelligent control system implemented.

  • Patent number: 9619753
Abstract: A data analysis system includes a modeling unit, a feature-extraction unit, a processing unit and an output unit. The modeling unit creates a prediction model by a machine learning algorithm according to training data. The feature-extraction unit extracts a plurality of fragment of feature data of input data, and classifies the feature data into a plurality of groups. The processing unit obtains a probability of the input data corresponding to the prediction model by the machine learning algorithm according to the feature of one of the groups, and determines the probability. When the probability is less than a predetermined value, the processing unit uses another feature data corresponding to another group which is not used to renew the probability of the input data corresponding to the prediction model through the machine learning algorithm. When the probability is greater than or equal to the predetermined value, the processing unit classifies the input data. The output unit outputs a classification result.

  • Patent number: 9582756
Abstract: Techniques for data pattern analysis using deterministic finite automaton are described herein. In one embodiment, a number of transitions from a current node to one or more subsequent nodes representing one or more sequences of data patterns is determined, where each of the current node and subsequent nodes is associated with a deterministic finite automaton (DFA) state. A data structure is dynamically allocated for each of the subsequent nodes for storing information associated with each of the subsequent nodes, where data structures for the subsequent nodes are allocated in an array maintained by a data structure corresponding to the current node if the number of transitions is greater than a predetermined threshold. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

  • Patent number: 9577986
Abstract: A technique for the secure exchange and verification of data between multiple entities that use compatible business management systems utilizes serializable data transfer objects to transfer business data over a secure communication path. A conversion algorithm transforms a subset of the business data contained within the transfer objects, and the resulting data string is compared to data strings from other objects that are related to the transaction and which were transformed by the same conversion algorithm. If the data strings are not identical, a discrepancy exists. Serializable objects link all data objects relating to a given business transaction. An interface allows users to view and manage data contained in data objects, including discrepancies between compared objects.

  • Patent number: 9576249
Abstract: In accordance with the teachings described herein, systems and methods are provided for measuring a user's comprehension of subject matter of a text. A summary generated by the user is received, where the summary summarizes the text. The summary is processed to determine a first numerical measure indicative of a similarity between the summary and a reference summary. The summary is processed to determine a second numerical measure indicative of a degree to which a single sentence of the summary summarizes an entirety of the text. The summary is processed to determine a third numerical measure indicative of a degree of copying in the summary of multi-word sequences present in the text. A numerical model is applied to the first numerical measure, the second numerical measure and the third numerical measure to determine a score for the summary indicative of the user's comprehension of the subject matter of the text.

  • Patent number: 9569733
Abstract: To extract relationships between complex entities from unstructured data, a parser parses, using an existing language model, the unstructured data to generate a parse tree. From the parse tree, a set of tokens is created. A token in the set of tokens includes a set of words found in the unstructured data. The set of tokens is inserted in the existing language model to form an enhanced language model. The unstructured data is re-parsed using the enhanced language model to create a knowledge graph. From the knowledge graph, a relationship between a subset of the set of tokens is extracted.

  • Patent number: 9569721
Abstract: A system correlates intellectual property analyses, for example, patent claim charts, with respect to analyzed intellectual property and a target product or other intellectual property. Analyses are stored to enable searching and/or creating reports over multiple analyses. Units of the analysis are associated with a context, inherited, e.g., from the intellectual property document's assignment to a relative role within organizational hierarchy; and associated with a context derived from the analysis itself. The analysis and respective documents and/or targets of the analysis can be searched/retrieved/analyzed from the hierarchical analysis, the context analysis, and/or the content of the analysis. This obviates the need to store each analysis as a separate document. The target or annotations may be visually represented by an item such as a thumbnail or hyperlink, and the system automatically associates the item with the appropriate application program.

  • Patent number: 9552562
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for a visual information builder for business rules are provided. By providing an additional interface layer over a general purpose business rule creation interface, role-based and context-sensitive interaction and presentation can be provided to abstract the complexity of the underlying service platform that supports the business rules. Templates are used to provide custom context-sensitive user interfaces and to hide complexity from the user by limiting the scope of the rule dictionary exposed to the user. The general rule building process is uniformly consistent across different contexts and operates similarly at the block and rule scale. Moreover, logical combinations are built using a consistent logical layout specifying logical operators and order of operations based on direction of expansion and relative positions.
