    Abstract: An aqueous silicone emulsion which crosslinks by a Michael addition reaction, yielding a cured composition upon removal of the water has been prepared. The aqueous silicone emulsion comprises the product formed by mixing an organosiloxane polymer containing at least two Michael acceptor groups per organosiloxane molecule, water, a surfactant and an effective amount of a crosslinker having sufficient reactive hydrogens of a Michael donor per crosslinker molecule. The invention also describes a method for making these silicone emulsions.

    Abstract: The present invention provides for microporous ceramic materials having a surface area in excess of 100 m.sup.2 /gm and an open microporous cell structure wherein the micropores have a mean width of less than 20 Angstroms and wherein said microporous structure comprises a volume of greater than about 0.05 cm.sup.3 /gm of the ceramic. The pyrolysis product of ceramic precursor oligomers or polymers having a number average molecular weight in the range of from about 200 to about 100,000 g/mole in an ammonia atmosphere at temperatures of up to less than about 1200.degree. C. gives rise to the microporous ceramics of the invention. Also provided is a process for the preparation of the microporous ceramics of the invention involving pyrolysis of the ceramic precursor under controlled conditions of heating and with intermediate hold times, up to temperatures of less than 1200.degree. C., preferably less than 1000.degree. C., to form a microporous ceramic product.

    Abstract: A dry, non-oily, non-greasy, rubber or vinyl surface protectant contains a silicone component and an acrylic component in its formulation. When only the silicone component is applied to rubber and vinyl surfaces, the surfaces become glossy but feel oily. When only the acrylic component is applied, they are glossy and feel dry but are tacky and draggy as if a heavy residue was present. When components are blended and applied to rubber and vinyl surfaces, the surfaces have a dry shine with good gloss and feel completely dry. The treated surfaces are also not tacky and give no sensation of heavy residue presence.

    Abstract: An exercise putty kit for providing manipulative physical therapy of increasing difficulty comprises a container (12) of a large mass (14) of borosiloxane putty and a package (16) of borosiloxane or siloxane putty. At least one small mass (18-32) is provided to the patient along with the large mass (14), the small mass and large mass being manipulated by the patient until a uniform color and stiffness are achieved in the combined mass (38). Preferably, a plurality of small masses (18-32) having a variety of colors are available for successive manipulation with the combined mass (38). The kit provides a means by which the difficulty of manipulative physical therapy may be monitored and increased. As more small masses (18-32) are added to the combined mass (38), the stiffness increases, requiring more manipulation to fully blend the masses.

The composition having the conductive agent uniformly dispersed therein yields a semiconductive silicone elastomer having a volume resistivity of 10.sup.5 -10.sup.10 .OMEGA.-cm with a dispersity of 1 to 10.

Polydiorganosiloxane is added gradually to the resulting fluidized filler over a time period of less than 10 minutes to obtain the free flowing powdered reinforcing silica-polydiorganosiloxane concentrate. The foundation mixture is obtained by massing the concentrate and adding more polydiorganosiloxane to obtain a mixture which has from 8 to 20 weight percent silica filler.
