  • Patent number: 12289211
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, according to one approach, includes: sending a notification to a host regarding a first logical unit number (LUN) in response to receiving an indication that a first node will be taken offline. The first LUN that the notification is sent to has a preferred communication path that extends through the first node. Communication paths extending through the first node are blocked and communication paths extending through a second node are promoted. Moreover, in response to determining that existing I/O operations previously assigned to the first node have been completed, the first node is taken offline. I/O operations are thereby sent to the first LUN through the second node while the first node is offline.

  • Patent number: 12284070
Abstract: A system for monitoring quantized signals in a bidirectional data stream and alerting a networked device of metric divergence by georegion includes a computing system that automatically, for each of multiple user entities, receives input signals and stores corresponding records , associated with the user entity, each representing a quantized input event. The computing system increments a resource of the user entity by a respective input quantity. Georegion-specific attributes associated with a respective georegion are discriminated, and the input records are associated with georegion. The computing system measures user-specific georegion-specific metrics for each georegion and determines whether the metrics diverge from a georegion-specific index. An alert is sent across a network for display on a user device upon determining a user-specific georegion-specific metric diverges from a georegion-specific index.

  • Patent number: 12271803
Abstract: Methods and systems are presented for providing automated online chat assistance in an online chat session. One or more utterances transmitted from a user device of a user via the online chat session are obtained. The one or more utterances are provided to a first prediction model to predict an intent of a user. If it is determined that the first prediction model is unable to predict the intent of the user based on the one or more utterances, the one or more utterances are provided to a second prediction model. After predicting the intent of the user by the second prediction model, the intent is used by a chat robot to provide a dialogue with the user via the online chat session. The one or more utterances and the predicted intent are used to re-train the first prediction model.

  • Patent number: 12244508
Abstract: The invention relates to a method implemented in a packet-switched network for scheduling transmission of Ethernet frames, where a time of a next transmission of a future time-critical traffic frame (Express frame), among several time-critical traffic frames to transmit, is determined on the basis of respective priority levels of the time-critical traffic frames. The determination of this next transmission time allows a fair timing of transmission of such time-critical traffic frames which might belong to different streams. It makes possible also to transmit, before the aforesaid next transmission time, preemptable frames of non-time-critical traffic.

  • Patent number: 12206591
Abstract: Example embodiments describe a method for managing data traffic congestion in a network communication node. The method comprising maintaining a marking probability based on a marking ratio indicative of a change in packets responsible for congestion in a network queue in the network communication node over a change in a total number of packets processed by the network queue. The method further comprising classifying packets processed by the network queue as scalable packets or other packets based on an identifier included in the packets; wherein the scalable packets support scalable congestion control. The method further comprising marking the scalable packets responsible for congestion in the network queue with a congestion mark to signal data traffic congestion; and marking the other packets that support unscalable congestion control with the congestion mark based on the marking probability.

  • Patent number: 12199882
Abstract: An information processing device in a communication apparatus performs a management process of traffic flow management information for transfer of data including a plurality of frames from a transmission source terminal to a transmission destination terminal. Where new traffic flow management information of a traffic flow associated with a data frame identified by an identification unit on the basis of identification information included in the received data frame is recorded in the communication apparatus, a recording unit determines whether the number of pieces of traffic flow management information already recorded is equal to or more than a threshold value, and calculates and records a scheduled release time of the traffic flow management information according to a determination result.

  • Patent number: 12199833
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for using a first SDN controller as a Network Controller as a Service (NCaaS). The first SDN controller receives a first set of network attributes regarding network elements in a first container cluster configured by a second SDN controller, and a second set of network attributes regarding network elements in a second container cluster configured by a third SDN controller. These container clusters do not have a controller for defining particular network policies. Based on the sets of network attributes, the first SDN controller defines the particular network policies to control forwarding data messages between the first and second container clusters. The first SDN controller distributes at least a subset of the particular network policies to the first container cluster in order for network elements at the first container cluster to enforce on data messages exchanged between the first and second container clusters.

  • Patent number: 12184723
Abstract: Nodal work assignments efficiently distribute server work items, such as storing redundant copies of electronic data. A cloud computing network establishes a policy that governs how and where the redundant copies are stored cloud computing nodes (such as by region, zone, and cluster targets). The cloud computing network repeatedly or continuously re-evaluates the work assignments based on replication assignment skews and/or leadership penalties. The nodal work assignments thus minimize hardware and software operations, network traffic, and electrical energy consumption.

  • Patent number: 12184515
Abstract: A computing device (e.g., a policy management server) obtains a segmentation policy that includes a set of rules for controlling network traffic between workloads. The computing device also receives infrastructure feedback regarding configuration of third-party network infrastructure. The computing device uses the infrastructure feedback to identify a discrepancy between the segmentation policy and the configuration of the third-party network infrastructure and triggers a corrective action in response. The corrective action may include providing a notification or suggestive remedy for the discrepancy to the user or automatically remedying the discrepancy.
