Abstract: A sterile surgical drape for protecting a robotic surgical system includes an oblong drape of a clear flexible plastic material, which unfolds from a compact packet. From the proximal side of the main panel of the drape there project two pocket flaps, which are separated by a medial trough. The two pocket flaps are configured to slip over one another and together enclose the top of the control tower in an overlapping fashion, such that the robotic manipulator arms extend on either side of the main panel, while the camera/endoscope arm extends through the medial trough. The open ends of the pocket flaps are folded over to form cuffs, wherein a nurse can insert his/her hand to draw the flap over the top of the tower without touching non-sterile surfaces. The unfolding of the main panel is controlled by adhesive tabs or tear strips, so that the bottom of the panel does not engage the cart's wheels or the floor.
Abstract: Surgical drapes having opposing first and second primary surfaces with fixably attachable patches to provide ports through which cables or tools can be inserted without compromising a sterile field. The patches may be earlier affixed to the surgical drape or the patch may be affixed in situ by a clinician to the drape prior to a surgical procedure.
Abstract: A method for applying pressure to skin with a dressing. The method including: adhering at least a portion of the dressing to the skin; and subsequent to the adhering, changing the shape of the dressing by removing a restraint which restrains an elastic member associated with the dressing into a first shape. Where the removing of the restraint from restraining the elastic member moves the elastic member towards an unrestrained second shape to one or more of elongate or reduce a dimension of the dressing to apply a pressure to corresponding portions of the skin.
Abstract: A device in connection with sleep apnoea, includes a dental splint (1) designed to engage with the jaws of the user in the position of use of the device and the device moreover includes elements (10, 11) for delivering air to the nostrils of the user from an external air source and a holder element (3) for supporting the elements (10, 11) for the delivery of air, the holder element (3) being connected to the dental splint (1). The holder element (3) is connected to the dental splint (1) by way of elements (7, 9) for adjusting the distance between the dental splint (1) and the holder element (3).
Abstract: A topical proprioceptive tube and method of use for enhancing performance, reducing the risk of knee injury, or both. The tube includes a flexible sleeve having at least: a hamstring buttress, a knee buttress, or both, wherein the hamstring buttress and the knee buttress are configured to be coupled to the interior of the flexible sleeve such that the hamstring buttress applies pressure to at least a portion of one of the subject's hamstring muscles and the knee buttress applies pressure to at least a portion of the subject's Vastus Medialis Obliquus (VMO) when worn by the subject to provide the desired effect.
Abstract: A fornix manipulator includes a collar and stabilizer. The collar has a first end and a second end, the second end having an opening and diameter greater than the first end and the first end having an opening to receive a cervix into the collar. The stabilizer has a base portion defining a guide hole and a plurality of prongs extending from the base portion to contact the first end of the collar.
Abstract: Disclosed is an apertured hydrogel that is used in connection with an insertion device to provide comfort at the site of entry into the skin. In one embodiment, the hydrogel contains antimicrobial properties to help inhibit microbial growth at the site of insertion of the device into the skin. In the invention the apertured hydrogel is provided with a medical dressing and comprises a hydrogel having an upper surface and a lower surface, a film covering the upper surface of the hydrogel, a base sheet releasably covering to the lower surface of the hydrogel, an aperture in the film and hydrogel from the upper surface to the lower surface of the hydrogel, wherein the base sheet extends beyond the hydrogel to form a tab.

Abstract: An orthotic sock for treatment of an orthopedic condition is formed from a resilient material and has means for restricting movement of a wearer's foot in one or more predetermined directions and/or means for assisting movement of a wearer's foot in one or more predetermined directions. An opening is defined through a posterior leg portion of the sock.
Abstract: Methods and devices for dressing a wound are disclosed. One such dressing includes a layer of spaced protrusions, each protrusion shaped to receive medication for treating a wound and a plurality of holes defined in the layer, the holes configured to allow evaporation of exudate from the wound. Another such dressing includes multiple layers, each layer sandwiched over the next and including spaced protrusions, with alternate layers comprising absorptive materials. The alternate layers of absorptive materials can communicate via holes in the non-absorptive layers to allow exudate to travel from between the absorptive layers and away from the wound.
Abstract: A brace has a plurality of elongated beams that extend in parallel along the length of the brace. The adjacent beams are coupled to posts that extend around the circumference of the brace in a staggered pattern and hold the beams in place around the brace. The beams and posts define a plurality of elongated fenestrations. The configuration of the beams and fenestrations allow the brace to be strong in compression and bending and also provide elastic radial expansion.
