Abstract: A disposable wearing article has a first surface and a second surface. The second surface is provided with a tape fastener attached thereto. The tape fastener may be folded so as to be unfoldable in a longitudinal direction and includes a first tape strip and a second tape strip underlying the first tape strip. The first tape strip has a free end zone and a first end zone and is adhesively attached to the second tape strip. The second tape strip has a fixed end zone secured to the second surface and a second end zone. The first end zone of the first tape strip has an extension that extends beyond the second end zone of the second tape strip and is adhesively attached to the second surface either directly or via a third tape strip of the tape fastener.

Abstract: An absorbent article includes an absorbent structure. The edge portions in the absorbent structure's middle portion have a first mean pore size, and the central portion in the middle portion of the absorbent structure has a second mean pore size, the first mean pore size being greater than the second mean pore size. The absorbent article can be folded along the longitudinal centre axis so that a part of the article on one side of the longitudinal centre line and a corresponding part of the article on the other side of the longitudinal centre line are brought together to lie against one another at a plane of the longitudinal centre line on the upper surface of the article. The edge portions which have the greater, first mean pore size thereby form an area of the absorbent article that is first wetted during use.

Abstract: A disposable absorbent article such as a disposable diaper having standing cuffs around leg portions or a waist portion. The disposable absorbent article has, in a used condition, standing cuffs each having a free portion thereof stand toward the wearer by means of a stretching force of stretching members. Stretching members are respectively provided at the tip end of the free portion and at a portion between the base end and the middle of the free portion and closer to the base end. The standing cuff may not have a plane-gathering cuff at the outer side thereof.

Abstract: A double diaper package includes adhesively attached, similarly sized inner and outer diapers. Each of the diapers has a liquid permeable skin contacting net and a liquid impermeable polymeric back sheet edge bonded to each other so as to surround and encase a super-absorber in a fibrous matrix. The inner diaper has an adhesive coated edge flap of the liquid impermeable sheet extending from the edge bond. This edge flap secures the outer diaper to the inner diaper, forming a double diaper package that is attached to the baby using waist-securing tabs connected to the inner diaper. When soiled, the inner diaper is pulled away by releasing the waist-securing tabs and the adhesive edge flap attachment. The fresh, clean, outer diaper is attached using the waist-securing tabs of the outer diaper. The inner soiled diaper is then discarded.

Abstract: A colostomy bag having a cleansing system wherein the bag is cleaned while in its operable position associated with the person. More specifically, the system mounts a manifold within the colostomy bag with an access to water under pressure from outside, the manifold providing a spray dispersion of fluid, or cleansing water, at the top of the bag and gravity then drips it down through the bag and out the open bottom end, with the residue of the bag being washed out by the water and passing into a toilet. The user can thus easily flush the bag to complete cleaning with all residue from the bag passing into the toilet. A water source from the toilet itself, or other suitable water supply, provides the water under pressure to the manifold inside the top of the colostomy bag.

Abstract: The invention relates to absorbent structures for use in absorbent articles. The structures include a first region for distribution of fluid and a second region for storage of fluid. The first region contains materials, with a relatively high capillary desorption pressure, while the second region contains materials exhibiting a sufficiently high capillary absorption pressure efficiently drain the first region. Exemplary materials have a CSDH 50 of more than 40 cm, and a second region containing a material which satisfies at least one of following requirements: (a) an absorption capacity of at least 15 g/g at 35 cm (b) an absorption capacity of at least 15 g/g at 0 cm and an absorption efficiency of at least 55% at 40 cm; and (c) a Capillary Sorption Absorption height at 50% of its capacity at 0 cm absorption height (CSAH 50) of at least 35 cm.

Abstract: In a disposable diaper having a feces retaining pocket formed by body fluid absorbent panel sections overlapping each other in a crotch covering region so that the feces retaining pocket can be largely opened, a second panel section overlaps on a first panel section in the crotch covering region of the diaper to form the feces retaining pocket. The crotch covering region is provided along transversely opposite side edges thereof with elastically stretch- and contractable leak-barrier cuffs. Inner side edges of the respective leak-barrier cuffs are bonded to the second panel section in the vicinity of a rear end of the second panel section lying in the crotch covering region.

Abstract: An interlabial pad is provided that can be easily worn in the interlabial space. A wrapping body is provided that contains the interlabial pad. In the interlabial pad, a finger insertion cavity is formed along the longitudinal direction of a back side sheet between a mini-sheet piece and the side opposite to body on the back side sheet. An opening of the finger insertion cavity for inserting a finger leads to a finger insertion restriction portion which farther restricts the insertion of the finger.

Abstract: A reusable diaper generally includes an inner layer configured to wick moisture from a diaper wearer's body and an outer layer configured to be substantially liquid-impervious. At least one pocket is defined generally by a space between the inner and outer layers. The at least one pocket is configured to receive at least one liquid-absorbent insert therein. The diaper also includes at least one slit in the inner layer that provides access into the space between the inner and outer layers defining the at least one pocket. At least one flap is provided that is positionable in an open configuration in which the at least one slit is exposed and allows access into the at least one pocket, and a closed configuration in which the at least one flap substantially covers the at least one slit.

Abstract: An interlabial pad individual wrapping container is presented which facilitates sanitary application and removal of an interlabial pad between the labia of a wearer. The interlabial individual wrapping container can be used as a preferred handling member at the time of application or removal of the interlabial pad. Two fingers of the left hand are inserted in finger insertion openings formed from a belt body attached on the wrapping container, the wrapping container is separated into the sections along a separation part by opening these fingers to the left and right, and in this state, the action for applying the interlabial pad held on a finger of the right hand is performed.

Abstract: A disposable wearing article is provided with a pair of tape fasteners each composed of inner and outer tape strips and a hook member. The outer tape strip has a proximal portion fixed to the side section of the rear waist region and a distal portion extending outwards from the side section. The inner tape strip has a proximal portion fixed to the side section, a first distal portion bonded to the distal portion of the outer tape strip, and a second distal portion extending outwards from the distal portion of the outer tape strip. The hook member is attached to at least the second distal portion of the inner tape strip. The tape fastener has first and second zones corresponding to the distal portions of the outer and inner tape strips. A stiffness of the second zone is lower than that of the first zone.

The prefastened absorbent articles can include a multiple property fastener (60) that has at least one engagement zone (65) and at least one non-abrasive zone (67).

Abstract: An absorbent article has a chassis assembly with a front region, a rear region, a crotch region disposed between the front and rear region, and a pair of longitudinal edges. A chamber is positioned adjacent to each longitudinal edge and extends from the front region to the rear region with each chamber being substantially enclosed. Drawstring members extend through each of the chambers and exit the chassis assembly from an opening in the rear region. A waist fit member extends across the rear region and is connected to a portion of the drawstring member. The drawstring members are substantially unattached to their respective chambers such that a more secure fit is provided about the legs and the waist of the wearer upon tensioning of the drawstring members.

Abstract: A disposable pull-on garment includes an absorbent main body and a ring-like elastic belt forming a waist opening and two leg openings. The absorbent main body has longitudinal side edges and transverse end edges. The elastic belt includes a front belt and a back belt each having a transverse waist border and a transverse abdomen border. In the back belt, a waist border elastic material is disposed adjacent to the waist border between the waist border and the end edge of the absorbent main body, a side elastic material is disposed adjacent to the abdomen border, and a waist anchoring elastic material is disposed between them. A leg opening angle formed by the abdomen border and each of the longitudinal side edges of the absorbent main body is greater when the disposable pull-on garment is in a contracted configuration than when the disposable pull-on garment is in an uncontracted configuration.

Abstract: A pant-like, prefastened, disposable absorbent article having side seams which include a front ear passively bonded to a back ear, wherein the front ear is releasable from the back ear desirably without tearing or damaging the back ear. The tearable front ear has a basis weight less than a basis weight of the back ear.

Abstract: A medical instrument includes a housing having a housing member with a passage through which a catheter is inserted. A valve body is mounted in the housing and abuts the housing member at an end of the passage, and, as the catheter penetrates through the valve body, the valve body conforms to the outer wall of the catheter to maintain a fluid tight seal between the valve body and the catheter. When the valve body is unstressed before being mounted in the passage, the valve body has a first planar dimension and a second planar dimension that is less than the first planar dimension.

Abstract: An absorbent article, such as a disposable diaper, having a topsheet, barrier cuffs, an optional acquisition layer, an absorbent core, a barrier layer, and a backsheet. The diaper is arranged so as to create breathable zones of reduced stiffness surrounding the wearer's thighs. That is, the layers of material forming the diaper are arranged so the area surrounding the wearer's thighs includes only the backsheet, barrier cuffs and leg elastics. No liquid-impervious material is present within the breathable zones of reduced stiffness. Furthermore, these breathable zones of reduced stiffness preferably are formed so that only hydrophobic material is present. Thus, providing a better fitting, less irritating absorbent article by reducing the stiffness and increasing the breathability of the diaper in the area surrounding the wearer's thighs, resulting in increased comfort and fit around the wearer's thighs.
