Abstract: A clip is crimped onto the upper edge of a metal or plastics material wall panel to retain the crimp form against relaxing over an extended time period. The clip engages a trim strip shoulder to prevent removal in a direction normal to the elongated axes of the panel and trim strip.

Abstract: A unitary extruded, plastic screed track is disclosed for use in connection with concrete slab construction. The screed track includes two elongated, parallel side members disposed in substantially vertical planes in close, spaced-apart relationship. An interconnecting member extends between the spaced apart side members at a point intermediate the top and bottom edges of the side members so as to form an H-shaped cross section. An elongated, bonding member projects outwardly from not more than one of the side members for anchoring the screed track to the concrete slab which is cast in place on one side of the screed track. A pair of oppositely extending flanges project outwardly from the lower edge of respective side members for transferring load between the concrete slabs cast in place on opposite sides of the screed rail.

Abstract: A device for supporting a building structure or the like includes an elongate shaft which is of square cross section and has a short length of screw flight at a lower end and the male screw threaded portion at an upper end extending coaxially with the shaft. A stabilizer in the form of a sleeve arranged to closely surround the square shaft together with three wings to be hammered downwardly into the ground surrounding the shaft after the shaft is screwed into the ground. Various heads can be provided including particularly a building support head in the form of a sleeve with a female screw thread at one end for attachment to the threaded portion of the shaft and a plate separate from the sleeve which can swivel relative to the sleeve to allow adjustment of the height.

Abstract: A protective canopy attachment for a motorized golf cart of the type having an uncovered rear compartment within which golf bags and clubs are positioned during use of the cart utilizes frame members attachable to the cart and a canopy assembly movably secured to the frame members. The canopy assembly includes a pair of brackets pivotally connected to the frame members and a flexible cover section which is draped across portions of the brackets. The brackets are movable relative to the frame members between an operative condition at which the cover section is arranged in a taut condition across the rear compartment for protecting bags and clubs positioned therein and a non-operative condition at which the cover section is arranged in a limp, out-of-the-way condition so as not to obstruct the withdrawal of clubs from the bags.

Abstract: A remote grasping device of simplified construction which requires little operator strength or manual dexterity. The device associated with a walking aid includes a pair of opposed jaw-like gripping members and a mechanism for selectively urging the members toward one another to an article grasping position or apart to an article release position. A reversible motor is operatively associated with the urging mechanism, and a remote switch is provided for activating the motor to operate the motor in a direction to effect urging of the members in a desired direction.

Abstract: A portable shelter is set forth easily erected and disassembled for ready transport of same. Captured "U" shaped supports are secured within conduits formed by means of an elongate capture fabric secured to tent fabric structure to capture the supports therein. Linear supports are positioned within four corners of the tent fabric structure and are also captured in a similar capture fabric wherein the formed contents for securing the support elements therein are discontinuous medially of the tent height to enable visual manipulation and securement of the various supports together. Included in the portable structure is a removable floor formed with integral compartments for inflation thereof for selective use of the compartments as an air mattress. Additionally, luminescent portions are positioned overlying the entrance flaps to the structure for indication of orientation of the tent and positioning of the entranceway during periods of limited light.

Abstract: A vehicle sun shade is disclosed, formed from a rectangular water impervious non-transparent sheet having a width approximately equal to the width of the vehicle to be protected, and a length greater than the length of the vehicle. Flexible tie strips formed of an elastic cord with plastic coated hooks, are secured at each of the corners of the rectangular sheet for attaching the sheet to the vehicle. Light weight spacers preferrably being four in number, and of hollow construction, are inserted between the inner surface of the sheet and the outer surface of the vehicle.

Abstract: A manual/automatic dual-purposed umbrella structure comprising a handle, a stationary tube, an inner tube, an outer tube and a top tube. The handle has two buttons which respectively control a pushing rod and a hook portion to fix or loosen the outer tube. The inner tube and the top tube are separately passed into the outer tube from the top and the bottom thereof. The top tube and the stationary tube each respectively comprises a hook hole used for hooking a hook rod installed on the outer tube. Two springs are respectively set on the inner tube and the top tube, the elastic forces thereof forcing the umbrella frame to be opened or closed.

Abstract: A portable structure that, without disassembly or separation of its basic parts, can be rapidly transformed between its fully erected configuration and its fully collapsed configuration by one individual unaided by another person. The structure, in its collapsed configuration, can be easily carried by one individual. In its expanded configuration the structure is instantly stable when placed on the ground. In one embodiment the structure serves as a light weight beach cabana that can be easily carried by a child. The basic portable structure does not require separation and reassembly of its components at any time before, during or after transformation from the collapsed or expanded configuration.

Abstract: A portable shelter which can be quickly and easily set up at the beach or other recreation area. The shelter is formed of a sheet of lighweight material having creases to form hinges between back and roof panels and supporting side panels. The side panels having upper and lower sections which have mutually engaging slots. The shelter is easily and quickly set up by folding the lower side panel sections approximately ninety degrees to the back and interlocking the mutually engaging slots of the upper and lower side panel sections.

Abstract: A movable cart for merchandising products wherein a canopy is supported on an upper surface of the body portion of the cart so that it may be raised or lowered relative to the upper surface wherein upwardly extending supports are mounted on four corners of the upper surface and downwardly extending supports are pivotally connected to a frame on which the canopy is mounted and the upwardly and downwardly extending supports are connected together to provide relative sliding movement therebetween and a gas spring is mounted within the upwardly and downwardly extending supports to urge the downwardly extending supports and therefore the canopy away from the upper surface, and locking apparatus is provided to hold the upper and lower supports in a relatively fixed relationship so that the canopy will be maintained at a desired distance above the upper surface.

Abstract: A tent construction comprises a tent member including a frame portion and a fabric wall portion, and a periscope assembly adjacent the upper end of the tent member which permits a person inside the tent member to view the surrounding area. The periscope assembly includes a base portion which is secured to the frame portion of the tent member and a periscope portion which is rotatably received in the base portion so that it is operative for viewing the area surrounding the tent member.

Abstract: A partition panel system, including at least two from each other spaced longitudinally extending supporting sections (1, 1', 1"), having a first end portion arranged with a supporting member (2, 2', 2"), intended to take up contact with a floor surface and to maintain the supporting sections (1, 1', 1") in a substantially vertical direction of extension. Each other adjacently located supporting sections (1, 1', 1") are arranged internally connected by means of at least one frameshaped member, formed by an upper and a lower attachment member and two side members, said frameshaped member being arranged to support one or a number of plate-shaped members and/or to be surrounded by a layer, thus forming a wall surface unit (3, 3', 3").

Abstract: A removable L-shaped clip fastener of integral, one-piece construction, that is inserted between the risers of installed metal structural roof panels for use in attaching and supporting insulated ceilings, light fixtures, paddle fans, simulated beams. The clip fastener has a long leg and a short leg normal thereto. The long leg has and arcuate and edge-sharpened distal portion to facilitate insertion of the long leg between the risers; the long leg has bent-back ears defining limit stops to limit the extent of insertion of the long leg between the risers; the long leg has a longitudinal axis; and the long leg has a twisted portion at an angle of approximately 22.5 degrees in a radial direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the long leg, and such twisted portion wedges against the inside surfaces of the risers to render the clip fastener self-tightened and self-locked.

Abstract: The invention is described toward a collapsible disposable umbrella formed from plastic, polyethylene and/or kraft paper components. The invention has a tubular container that serves as a handle when the umbrella is in use. The other components of the unit are stored within the container and when partially removed therefrom, an umbrella support structure expands and locks into position with a few simple movements.

Abstract: The invention relates to a spring-biased foot subassembly for use in the lower corners of a wall panel of a ground tent to yieldably resist the tension placed upon such panels when the diagonally-extending portions of the subframes supporting same in free-standing relation elongate as they move from an inwardly bowed partially folded relation out and over center where they assume a more or less straight line relation and on beyond into a fully-extended and outwardly-bowed position. The same elements that yieldably resist this tensioning of the wall panel also cooperate therewith to maintain the latter taut and under slight tension once the subframe has moved into its fully-extended and outwardly-bowed wall-supporting position.

Abstract: An apparatus for alternately raising a cover into a storage configuration adjacent an overhead support, like a carport roof, and lowering it over a vehicle parked thereunder and including a plurality of hollow tubes extending outward in radial pattern from a position centered over the vehicle, an upper frame of a plurality of bendable rods attached together in end-to-end fashion about the perimeter of the vehicle, a lower frame made similarly for positioning about the lower perimeter of the vehicle, a series of cover control lines attached at various points to the lower frame passing upward therefrom and through the tubes inward toward the hub and upward toward the overhead structure, a shaft mounted adjacent the overhead structure, and a sheet-like cover covering the tubes and frames for positioning over the vehicle and arranged for being retracted up to the overhead structure when not in use.
