Abstract: A method for forming a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag on a packing bag is disclosed and includes the steps of: equidistantly attaching RFID tags to a release film, one by one, to form a roll of tag web; installing the roll of tag web in a packing bag forming device to move the release film along a feeding direction of a packing material; changing a moving direction of the release film for peeling the RFID tags from the release film; intermittently pressing on the RFID tags for attaching the RFID tags to the packing material; bonding the RFID tags to the packing material with a melting technology; and processing the packing material by folding, sealing, and cutting to form packing bags securely installed with the RFID tags. A packing bag forming device for carrying out the method is also disclosed.
Abstract: Herein are disclosed methods and assemblies for mounting an article to a surface by a double-faced adhesive. At least one spacer is used that is deflectable upon the application of sufficient force. When in a first, undeflected condition, the spacer provides sufficient space between the mounting surface and the double-faced adhesive such that the double-faced adhesive does not contact the mounting surface, thus the position of the article can be adjusted. When in a second, deflected condition, the spacer allows the double-faced adhesive to contact the mounting surface such that a bond can be established between the double-faced adhesive and the mounting surface.
Abstract: A defect detection method of a layered film having a polarizing plate and an optical compensation layer includes steps of: applying light from a light source arranged at the polarizing plate layer side of the film surface of the layered film; a step of imaging a transmitting light image of the layered film by an imaging unit arranged at the optical compensation layer side of the film surface; and a defect detection step for detecting a defect existing on the layered film according to the transmitting light image captured by the imaging unit. The imaging unit performs imaging via an inspection polarizing filter arranged on the optical path between the light source and the imaging unit and adjacent to the imaging unit; and an inspection phase difference filter arranged on the optical path between the light source and the imaging unit and between the inspection polarizing filter and the layered film.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for applying tear tape to a packaging substrate. Features of the system include a tear tape applicator unit comprising a laser/tear tape unwind assembly and a tear tape applicator assembly and a winder comprising an unwind roll and a rewind roll. A packaging substrate is advanced from the unwind roll to the rewind roll. The tear tape applicator unit interfaces the winder such that at least one portion of a tear tape is cut by the laser/tear tape unwind assembly and applied to the web of packaging substrate by the tear tape applicator assembly. Features of the method include advancing a web of a packaging substrate along a rewinding line from an unwind end to a rewind end, cutting at least one portion of a tear tape, advancing said at least one portion of said tear tape toward said rewinding line, and applying said at least one portion of said tear tape to said web.
Abstract: Extruded, striped drinking straws are formed by coextruding at least two polymers of different color through a common extruder to form an elongated tube. An oscillator consisting of a pair of rolls supported for rotation about their central axes, extending normally to the extension of the tube, bear against opposed sides of the tube and are reciprocated in opposing directions so as to rotate the tube by a gear and spline mechanism. A straight puller draws the tube out of the extruder and through the twisting oscillator and a cutter forms the tube into straw lengths at the output of the puller.
Abstract: Polyurethane shapes containing a core layer of a water soluble polymer such as polyethylene oxide (PEO) are produced by casting onto a surface an aqueous mixture containing a pre-polymer of a hydrophilic polyurethane as a first layer of uncured polyurethane, covering the uncured first layer with release paper and compressing the layer, uncovering the uncured first layer and distributing PEO on the uncured surface, applying a second layer of uncured polyurethane on top of the PEO while the polyurethane is still uncured, then covering the resulting mass with release paper and compressing it to form an integrated, layered shaped article containing a core region enriched in PEO that when wetted releases PEO over an extended period.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a thin functional member having no base material, which exhibits a special function and is free from curling caused by the base material. The method includes the following steps (1) to (4): (1) filling a functional layer comprising an ionizing radiation curable resin between a base material and a mold having a predetermined concavo-convex pattern, (2) irradiating the filled functional layer with ionizing radiation to half-cure the functional layer, and then delaminating the functional layer and the base material from the mold, (3) adhering an adhesive sheet to a part of the functional layer, and delaminating the functional layer from the base material starting from a portion to which the adhesive sheet is adhered, and (4) irradiating the functional layer with ionizing radiation again to further cure the functional layer.
Abstract: The invention relates to a vent plug for a tire vulcanization mold used for a vent hole of the mold, the tire vulcanization mold, and a manufacturing method for the tire using the mold. The vent plug includes a plug holder with a hollow ventilation portion and a plug head within the ventilation portion. The plug holder includes a tapered seat portion, an inside diameter of which becomes smaller toward a mold rear side, and a cylinder portion located at the mold rear side of the seat portion. The plug head includes a tapered head portion, an outer diameter of which becomes smaller toward the mold rear side, a base body portion located at the mold rear side of the head portion, and a slit portion communicating with the ventilation portion from an upper end face of the plug head.

In one embodiment, the device comprises a central support assembly comprising first and second elongated members having a first longitudinal axis and a second longitudinal axis, respectively. The first longitudinal axis of the first elongated member is off-set from the second longitudinal axis of the second elongated member. The central support assembly further comprises first and second extension members each having a first portion telescopically engaged with the first and second elongated members, respectively, and a second portion. The device further comprises a right support assembly engaged with the second portion of the first extension member and comprising a film mounting roller adapted to support the first end portion of the roll of film.

Abstract: Mesostructured inorganic-organic materials, in the form of patterned films, monoliths, and fibers, can be prepared with controllable orientational ordering over macroscopic length scales. They are synthesized by controlling solvent removal rates across material interfaces, in conjunction with the rates of surfactant self-assembly and inorganic cross-linking and surface interactions. A method for controlling the rates and directions of solvent removal from a heterogeneous material synthesis mixture that allows the nucleation and directional alignment of self-assembling mesostructures to be controlled during synthesis is disclosed. The aligned mesostructured inorganic-organic materials and mesoporous inorganic or carbon materials can be prepared in the form of patterned films, monoliths, and fibers with controllable orientational ordering.

Abstract: A reverse molded, plant-on decorative panel component comprises a panel portion lying on a first plane, a skirt portion, and a contoured portion. The skirt portion has a first surface adapted to be exteriorly disposed and an opposite second surface adapted to be interiorly disposed in order to be adhesively secured to a planar surface. The contoured portion extends outwardly from and surrounds the panel portion and interconnects and is integral with the panel portion and the skirt portion. The skirt portion extends peripherally about the contoured portion.

Abstract: In a corrugated cardboard machine and in a method of producing a web of corrugated cardboard, an electronic control device is provided in order to avoid downtimes of the corrugated cardboard machine, said control device being designed such that at least one web length of the web of corrugated cardboard between the at least one production device and a longitudinal cutting device is detectable and an application width of the at least one production device is variable in dependence on the at least one web length. Changing the application width prevents an escape of glue from the sides so that there is no need for cleaning.
