Abstract: The multi-layered sand assembly comprising neat sand, super-hydrophilic and super-hydrophobic sands for feasible and sustainable desert agriculture is described. The ingredients such as PAM used in the super-hydrophilic sand layer and the PS-PMMA/DVB polymer for the super-hydrophobic layer are relatively less expensive and thus the overall development of the coated sand is economical and cost effective for the mass production of modified sand layers. The tandem action of high water absorption and retention over time by super-hydrophilic sand layer and high water repulsion to avoid water loss by super-hydrophobic sand of the proposed assembly would make the achievable agriculture in desert lands.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for providing and operating crop control hardware are provided herein. Some embodiments include an assembly line grow pod having a master controller with a plurality of bays and being communicatively coupled to components of the grow pod, a crop control module within one of the bays such that the crop control module is communicatively coupled to the master controller and the components of the grow pod, and a second control module in one of the bays, which is removably insertable such that it is removable from the bay without altering the assembly line grow pod functionality. The crop control module is programmed to sense a removal of the second control module, determine control signals necessary to maintain an operation of the grow pod and the components of the grow pod, and provide the control signals to the grow pod or the components of the grow pod.

Abstract: A portable bait container with adjustable luminosity has an openable casing to access a receptacle for storing baits. Casing is provided with a handle to conveniently carry and handle container from one place to another. Container further includes a first illuminating device that illuminates surrounding and hence enable user to easily view the ground and search for fishing baits such as worms or night-crawlers. Actuating switch is provided on handle for its easy access which actuates and de-actuates first illuminating device. Intensity of first illuminating device is controlled by using dimmer adjuster that enables user to manipulate intensity and hence provides maximum opportunity for collecting fishing baits. Container is portable, easy to handle by a single user to perform various bait collection operations and has adjustable luminosity for viewing surrounding at desired light intensity and thus reduces opportunity loss during collection of fishing baits.

Abstract: A planter and planter stack are described. The planter includes a planter pot configured to be nestable with other such planter pots. The planter pot includes a base, a planter sidewall integrally formed on the base and extending upwards towards a rim, and a hollow support pillar formed on the base and extending substantially vertically upwards with a drain opening at the top of the hollow support pillar in communication with an exterior side of the base. The planter further includes a removable riser configured to be nestable with other such removable risers. The removable riser includes a plate supported by an interior of the planter sidewall by an interference fit, and an aperture configured to accept a corresponding hollow support pillar.

In some examples, the device may comprise a body of chew resistant material and a window formed through the body and adapted to receive the pet chew therein. When disposed inside the window, the pet chew remains partially exposed while the pet chew is simultaneously protected by the body of chew resistant material. The device adaptively pressures the pet chew, such that pet chews which change size over time (or having a range of different initial sizes) may nonetheless remain secured.

Abstract: A decorative stand assembly for combining a terrarium, an aquarium and a waterfall includes a terrarium for housing plant life. The terrarium has a plurality of first windows therein for viewing an interior of the terrarium. A waterfall housing is positioned on the terrarium and the waterfall housing has a plurality of second windows for viewing an interior of the waterfall housing. A pump is positioned within the waterfall housing to pump a fluid into the waterfall housing for simulating a waterfall. An aquarium is coupled to the waterfall housing to house fish.

Abstract: An apparatus for detecting and signaling a disturbance of fishing gear while ice fishing may include an elongated base for positioning above an ice fishing hole, with a channel having opposing sides being located on the base for receiving a portion of the bobber, and a disturbance detecting assembly for detecting a disturbance of the fishing gear when a fish engages with the fishing gear. The detecting assembly may comprise a movable flap for releasably holding the portion of the bobber in the channel, and a detection switch in communication with the flap such that movement of the flap in at least one direction causes the detection switch to be actuated. The apparatus may also include an alerting assembly for signaling that the disturbance detecting assembly has detected a disturbance of the fishing gear.
