  • Patent number: 11553910
Abstract: A method for arthrotomy closure includes using a first sutured needle to form a first series of parallel stitches from a caudal end of the arthrotomy incision to a first point spaced from the cephalad end of the arthrotomy incision, using a second sutured needle to form a second series of parallel stitches from a cephalad end of the arthrotomy incision to the caudal end of the arthrotomy incision. The second series of stitches intersect the first series of stitches at a 45 degree angle after passing the first point. After the second series of stitches is formed, the first sutured needle is used to form a third series of stitches from the first point to the cephalad end of the arthrotomy incision. The third series of stitches are parallel to the first series of stitches and intersect the second series of stitches at a 45 degree angle.

  • Patent number: 11547399
Abstract: An articulating suture hook for passing or retrieving suture. The suture hook having a handle with a proximal end and distal end. A stiffening tube is fixed to the distal end of the handle extending distally from the handle. A flexible outer tube is fixed to the stiffening tube and extends distally therefrom. A cut portion of the flexible outer tube has a plurality of cuts positioned therealong. In a first configuration, the flexible outer tube extends parallel to or in alignment with the stiffening tube, but in a second configuration, the flexible outer tube is curved at the cut portion. The plurality of cuts may be arranged into two patterns. Each cut arranged in a first pattern is offset at an angle from each cut arranged in a second pattern. The pattern, shape, and size of the cuts determines the movement of the flexible outer tube to the second configuration.

  • Patent number: 11534154
Abstract: A tissue repair construct having first and second implants coupled via a flexible element is provided. The flexible element forms an adjustable loop closed with a sliding knot, and has first and second free ends extending from the knot formed by wrapping the second end around the first end. The second implant can have a changeable configuration. The construct can be placed within a surgical site in a patient's body such that the first implant is passed into a bone adjacent to soft tissue and the second implant is disposed on an opposed side of the soft tissue. The first free end of the flexible element is configured to be tensioned to decrease a size of the loop and thereby change the configuration of the second implant and to thereby cause at least the second implant to move towards the first implant.
