Abstract: This disclosure details a surgical system and method, which is permits percutaneous insertion of anchors, and is useful in orthopedic surgical procedures involving fixation of soft tissue to bone. Because the anchors may be inserted percutaneously, the anchors can be inserted into bone without requiring a skin incision and without requiring a pre-drilled bone hole. As such, use of the disclosed system and method leads to a reduction in the number of steps in a surgical procedure, which reduces surgery time, while also reducing the size of openings formed in the skin relative to other known techniques, which reduces recovery times and results in smaller and less noticeable scarring.
Abstract: A device for closing an opening in a body lumen, the device having a first elongate member with a first lumen, a second elongate member distal the first elongate member, and a needle assembly slidably cooperating with the first elongate member to position a plurality of sutures within the lumen of the first elongate member. The needle assembly includes a needle base and a plurality of needle portions extending from the needle base. Slidable movement of the needle assembly in relation to the first elongate member locates the plurality of sutures selectively mounted to the needle assembly within the first lumen.

Abstract: A method of attaching target tissue to a pilot hole in a bone that utilizes a suture assembly having an anchor sleeve; a sliding suture, having a first end and a second end, and passing through the anchor sleeve; and a shuttle having a shuttle loop and a free end, opposed to the shuttle loop, and passing through the anchor sleeve, with the free end and the shuttle outside of the anchor sleeve. In the method, the sliding suture is passed about the target tissue and the first end is engaged to the shuttle loop. Then, the anchor sleeve is pushed into the pilot hole, and the free end is pulled to pull the shuttle into the anchor sleeve in the pilot hole, thereby setting the anchor sleeve into the pilot hole.

Abstract: The binky rings is the only product of its kind that combines teething beads and pacifiers into one multi-functional product and can be conveniently clipped onto any and all items and surfaces. This unprecedented product is uniquely designed to be large enough to be hard to lose, and small enough to fit in any purse, diaper bag, and even a pocket for transport and quick access. Furthermore, the durable lobster clasps will allow for the option to turn the binky rings into a traditional binky clip, per consumer preference.
Abstract: A heart valve repair device may include a support configured to extend through a native annulus of a native heart valve, wherein the support comprises an upstream portion and a downstream portion; an annular expandable retainer extending from the upstream portion of the support, and an arm extending from the downstream portion of the support. The annular expandable retainer may include a C-shaped cross-section that is open inwardly. The arm may be configured to reach behind a leaflet of the native heart valve and sandwich the leaflet between the arm and the support.

Abstract: A pacifier for cooling of oral tissue including: a nipple having an outer shell forming an outer chamber which is configured to retain a first cooling medium having a freezing temperature below 0 degrees Celsius, an inner shell forming an inner chamber positioned inside the outer chamber and which is configured to retain a second cooling medium having a freezing temperature above the freezing point temperature of the first cooling medium to assist in chilling the first cooling medium; a handle coupled to a proximate end of the nipple; and a shield positioned between the handle and the proximate end of the nipple.
Abstract: A heart valve prosthesis delivery device can be modified in situ to facilitate retrieval of the device from a patient after delivery of a heart valve prosthesis. The device can include a nose cone that permits enclosures of the device to be drawn together in an aligned configuration, reducing the likelihood that the device will get caught on the prosthesis or vasculature as the device is retrieved from the patient.

Abstract: A method and system for secure attachment of tissue to bone and other anatomical structure is disclosed. The system includes an all-suture anchor assembly including an all-suture anchor having at least one suture strand and an all-suture anchoring element threaded along the suture strand. The system also includes an adjustable self-locking device including a length of suture passing through at least one clinching portion.
Abstract: A surgical implant comprising a receiver member and deployment member for clamping and sealing tissue of variable thickness, a corresponding applicator tool and surgical system for connecting, sealing, fastening and/or attaching tissue to itself, to other tissue and/or to non-tissue structures, and/or sealing the flow of fluid at and/or between structures such as tissue and vessel structures.

Abstract: A prosthetic component for repair of a patient's aorta includes an uncovered portion spanning the innominate arteries, and a graft material on a proximal end thereof.
Abstract: A method of using a suction device to remove an object from a subject's body includes extending a suction device into the body through a lumen of a medical device and expanding the suction head from a contracted configuration to an expanded configuration within the body. The suction head may be provided at a distal end of an elongate conduit. The method may also include applying suction to move the object into the expanded suction head, and removing the suction device with the object from the body.
Abstract: A device for orienting a medical object in respect of an object under examination includes an orientation element, a guide element, an ancillary element, and a light guiding device. The orientation element is movably mounted about a center of rotation and is configured for the longitudinal guidance of the medical object along a guide axis. The ancillary element includes an identification marker configured to be arranged in the center of rotation. The light guiding device is configured to emit a predefined distribution of light for specification of a path. The arrangement of orientation element and ancillary element may be moved about the center of rotation arranged on the path, such that the predefined distribution of light illuminates the identification marker with a predefined light pattern, when the guide axis of the orientation element is oriented in a defined positional relationship in respect of the path.
Abstract: A method and apparatus can include: a shield; a shaft coupled to the shield; a nipple coupled to the shaft; and a membrane coupled between the shield and the shaft, the membrane providing a retracted configuration creating a storage cavity for the nipple based on the shaft being pulled away from the shield, and the membrane providing an extended configuration with the nipple exposed and extended past the shield based on the shaft being pressed toward the shield and the membrane inverting from the retracted configuration.
Abstract: An embolic filter device has a tubular structure having a front end, a first section, a first section rear end, a left collection pocket formed in the first section rear end, a right collection pocket formed in the first section rear end, a first narrow passage, a second section, a second section front end, a second section rear end, a left second section collection pocket, a right second section collection pocket, a second narrow passage, and a rear end.
Abstract: A knotless suture anchor construct for securing a tissue in a desired position relative to a bone hole. The construct includes a substrate having a first end and a second end, and a filament woven through a plurality of passing locations along the substrate. The filament forms a first loop extending to a passing limb and reducing limb. There is a passing portion in the reducing limb between two adjacent passing locations of the plurality of passing locations. In a pre-deployment configuration, the first loop of the filament extends from a first end of the substrate and the passing limb and the reducing limb extend from the second end of the substrate. Also, in the pre-deployment configuration, the passing portion extends through the first loop, forming a second loop in the reducing limb.
Abstract: A ventilation tube includes a hollow main portion having an inner wall, an outer wall, a distal end and a proximal end. The outer wall defines an outer wall width dimension. At least one distal member is coupled to and extends from the distal end and has an outer end. At least one proximal member is coupled to and extends from the main portion and has an outer end. In an undeployed state, the outer end of the at least one proximal member is more greatly spaced apart from the outer wall width dimension than the outer end of the at least one distal member. In a deployed state the outer end of the at least one distal member changes in position relative to the outer wall width dimension and the outer end of the at least one proximal member remains unchanged relative to the outer wall width dimension.

Abstract: A medical device for treating a PFO is presented as well as a mechanism for its delivery, repositioning and/or removal. The device includes a wire or cable framework of six shape-memory cables formed into a right side having six loops that support a right side sail and a left side having six loops that support a left side sail. The right side loops and left side loops are connected together via waist members that extend between the right side and left side loops. Each cable is threaded through a through hole of a central post and pass through one of each of four types of connecting collars that establish the basic shape of the PFO device and retain the cables together to form a flexible and resilient PFO device.
