Abstract: A glove with a base layer of a flexible material which extends along at least a palm-side portion of the glove which includes a palm area and inner sides of a plurality of finger stalls and a thumb stall. The glove also has a second layer positioned on the palm-side portion and disposed on top of the base layer. The second layer includes a plurality of contact areas and a contact surface. Also, the glove has a plurality of siping grooves which conduct liquid away from the contact surface and a plurality of channels which direct liquid away from the contact areas.

Abstract: Embodiments of an eye protector are made of a molded plastic part connected with a metal part. The plastic part consists of a generally C-shaped configuration with an elongated portion overlying the eyebrows and arcuate fingers designed to overlie the wearer's cheekbones. The metallic part includes an arcuate portion staggered significantly forwardly with respect to the plastic part. The horizontal stagger virtually precludes a ball from impacting on both the plastic part and the metallic part simultaneously, and the thin profile of the metallic part causes deflection of a ball rather than rebound. Embodiments also include a downwardly depending inverted V-shaped portion that protects the wearer's face below the eyes.

Abstract: A multi-purpose unisex garment that can be worn in a variety of configurations on different parts of the body and for a variety of occasions. The garment includes a first sheet of material and a second sheet of material, which is positioned opposite the first sheet of material. The first and second sheets of material are secured to one another at or near two opposite ends of the sheets of material. The two other opposite ends of the sheets of material are open to allow a part of the body to pass through at least one of the openings. At least one of the open ends has a securing device positioned along at least a portion of the opening that may securely close at least a portion of the respective opening to secure the garment about the person.

Abstract: The helmet visor with wiper apparatus provides a visor that can wipe inclement weather products off of the visor center section with a pendulum action wiper blade that is replaceable. The visor removably fits most existing helmets. The center section of the visor provides for less curvature than do the left section and right section, thereby providing for most efficient cleaning. The center section outward flares provide best all around visibility from the center section. Also, the wiper mechanism removably fastens to the visor, providing for inexpensive wiper mechanism replacement without having to replace the entire apparatus and further providing for the various components of the wiper mechanism to be serviced and replaced easily, without great expense. The flexible blade is replaceable.

Abstract: A protective sports glove including a contoured wrist cuff that substantially shields a gap defined between adjacent portions of the protective sports glove, such as hand and cuff portions. The contoured wrist cuff and/or the cuff portion can include multiple segments that enable the wrist cuff to flex with a wearer's wrist. The contoured wrist cuff can include a leading edge that contours forwardly adjacent a thumb portion of the contoured wrist cuff and rearwardly across a portion of the radial side of a wearer's hand when the glove is on the wearer's hand. This can allow protection of the wearer's wrist in flexion without also impairing movement of the wearer's wrist.

Abstract: A protective jaw pad for equipment having a shell includes a first resilient shock absorbing member having a sheet portion with a plurality of hollow protrusions, tapering side walls of the protrusions being compressible for absorbing shocks applied to the shell. The pad includes a second resilient shock absorbing member that is either a monolithic block of foam or is made up of a second sheet portion with a plurality of hollow protrusions that are interleaved with the first protrusion. A cover covers either the first or the second shock absorbing member and a plurality of fasteners removably connect the jaw pad to the shell.

Abstract: A goggle and a strap assembly method thereof are provided. The goggle includes an eyeglass, a frame and at least one strap. The frame receives and secures the eyeglass therein and is bilaterally provided with a pair of engaging portions each having a through hole. The strap has at least one connecting portion and is passed through the through hole of a corresponding one of the engaging portions of the frame. The connecting portion of the strap is provided with a resisting portion which makes the connecting portion slightly larger than an opening of each of the through holes, so that the strap which is passed through the through hole of a corresponding one of the engaging portions can be securely attached to the frame.

Abstract: Lower-body garment with a combined stretchably-retained, fastenably-split waist. The waistband is sleevelike and split by overlapping ends having circumferentially opposing mouths. A stretchable band is encapsulated in, and unfixed entirely throughout, the waistband. The stretchable band has opposing ends passing out of the opposing mouths in the waistband and coupled into an endless loop by a coupling device for adjusting the length of the stretchable band. An unfastenable locking mechanism is provided on the overlapping ends of the waistband. Opening/closing portions are formed by at least one split in a predetermined location in the garment body, extending to a common terminal position and continuous with the split in the waistband.

Abstract: A protective head gear for a user having an outer panel, an inner panel, a retention pleat on the inner panel, a respirator, and an indexed fastener. The outer panel is disposed relative to the inner panel to provide efficacious spatial separation therebetween. The fastener is formed to adjustably and releasably secure at least a portion of the inner panel to the user. An indexing element is attached to the fastener, and is formed of material substantially tactilely different from the fastener, the outer panel, or the inner panel, to permit the user to unambiguously locate the point of fastening. The outer panel, inner panel, and respirator, can be composed of fabrics having one or more layer, and one layer can have a repellent characteristic different from another (e.g., hydrophobic vs. hydrophilic).

Abstract: The invention concerns a series of underwater vision articles comprising two optical elements (1, 3), two sealing elements placed in contact with the face via their right and left contact areas (2, 4), having the following characteristics: the optical elements are placed flatly on a plane on the side opposite the contact areas: P1, P2 represent respective points that are the lowest and to the furthest left from the inner edge (5) or outer edge (6) of the left contact area (4); P3, P4 represent respective points that are the lowest and the furthest right from the inner edge (7) or outer edge (8) of the right contact area (2). Independent of the size, the ratio between PP2,4 and PP1,3 is constant, and/or the ratio between, on the one hand, PP2,4 and a constant and, on the other, PP1,2 is constant or PPi,j is the distance between Pi and Pj for any i and j.

Abstract: A glove having one or more reinforcements affixed thereon that reduce restriction of movement of fingers of a user. The reinforcements cross to form at least one X-shaped pattern when projected on a plane of motion of an interphalangeal joint of the fingers. The one or more reinforcements are located substantially on one or both sides of the interphalangeal joint of the fingers. The X-shaped pattern is substantially centered over an axis of rotation of the interphalangeal joint.

Abstract: A sleeping cap for lifting the face of a person away from a sleeping surface to prevent facial wrinkles comprises a U-shaped basic form covered with a fabric and having first and second extensions, each of the extensions being flexibly positioned within the fabric adjacent to each leg end of the U-shaped basic form, and the fabric covering the end of the first extension is attached to the fabric at the end of the second extension to form the sleeping cap. Straps from each side of the sleeping cap secure the cap on the person's head.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a lacrosse glove having a rigid protective element extending over and secured to the padding disposed on the back side of the thumb receiving portion of the glove. The protective element comprises a protective thumb portion that extends from proximate to a tip of the thumb receiving portion to a base region of the thumb receiving portion, and a protective transverse portion that extends in a direction generally perpendicular to the protective thumb portion from the base region of the thumb receiving portion toward a center portion of the glove.

Abstract: A protective goggle assembly includes a protective goggle having two side straps, each side strap comprising a free end and a first surface attachment region adjacent to the free end on at least one surface of each side strap; and a strap assembly that encircles the user's head, on each side of the strap assembly a second surface attachment region is provided that is configured to engage the first surface attachment region of the side straps. The strap assembly includes a base band with opposite free ends and an elastic ring. The free ends of the base band are connected to the elastic ring to form a complete encircling band. The second surface attachment region is carried on two locations of the base band. The complete encircling band is configured to fit around a soldier's helmet and the elastic ring being configured to fit over and around a night vision goggle mount at a front of the helmet.

Abstract: There are disclosed a protective cover for a lens of a goggle and a method of protecting a lens. In an embodiment, the cover has a front panel shaped to substantially contour the goggle, a first portion extending from the panel, a second portion extending from the panel, a first connector mechanism and a second connector mechanism configured to secure the front panel onto the lens, and openings sized to allow a strap of the goggle to extend away from the panel. In one embodiment, the method includes positioning the panel over the lens, positioning the first portion toward an inside portion of the lens, positioning the second portion toward the inside portion of the lens, and attaching the first portion and the second portion to secure the panel onto the lens. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

Abstract: A quick release faceguard retainer for use with a protective headgear and faceguard. The headgear has a face opening and an outer surface with a selected curvature. The faceguard has at least one top substantially horizontal bar. The retainer includes a base portion with a front surface and a back surface. The back surface of the base is adapted to be fixedly attached to the outer surface of the headgear above the face opening and has a curvature matching the curvature of the outer surface of the headgear above the face opening. Two complementary retention arms protrude out from the front surface of the base to form two complementary retention channels. One channel has a downward opening and the other has an upward opening and both have an inner surface which together surround the top horizontal bar of the faceguard. Also provided is a faceguard engagement space between the two retention arms having a size for receiving the top bar.

Abstract: The present invention provides a glove for a wearer. The glove has a hand covering portion and an arm covering portion connected to the hand covering portion. The arm covering portion has a number of segments with each connected to one another by a pivot. The arm covering portion in a first position covers and protects the wearer. The arm covering portion in a second position forms an obstruction to prevent a liquid from contacting the wearer with the obstruction trapping the liquid therein.

Abstract: A retractable hat tether apparatus for a hat having a cap portion. The tether apparatus includes a guide base movably mounted to the cap portion for movement thereof along a fixed path between a first position and a second position. A flexible tether includes a first end and an opposite second end thereof mounted to the guide base. A clip device is configured for releasable attachment to a user's clothing. The clip device is mounted to the first end such that, when the guide base moves along the fixed path between the first position and the second position, the tether and the clip device move between a retracted condition, positioning the tether substantially along the fixed path, and an extended condition, positioning the tether at an exterior of the cap portion to enable the clip device to be mounted to the user's clothing.
