  • Patent number: 11536573
Abstract: Provided herein is a method of generating and communicating map version agnostic road link identifiers. Methods may include: receiving an indication of a new road link being joined to an existing road link along a length of the existing road link, where the existing road link extends between a first node and a second node, where the existing road link has a first road link identifier, and where a new node is formed where the new road link joins the existing road link; generating a first new identifier for a segment of the existing road link between the first node and the new node; generating a second new identifier for a segment of the existing road link between the new node and the second node, where the second new identifier is set equal to an XOR function of the first road link identifier and the first new identifier.

  • Patent number: 11531114
Abstract: Systems and methods for imaging may include: receiving a first point cloud from a first LiDAR sensor mounted at a first location behind a vehicle grille, the first point cloud representing the scene in front of the vehicle, wherein as a result of the grille the scene represented by the first point cloud data is partially occluded with a first pattern of occlusion; receiving a second point cloud from a second LiDAR sensor mounted at a second location behind the vehicle grille; combining the first and second point clouds to generate a composite point cloud data set, wherein the first LiDAR sensor is located relative to the second LiDAR sensor such that when a point cloud data for the first optical sensor and the second optical sensor are combined, the first pattern of occlusion is at least partially compensated; and processing the combined point cloud data set.

  • Patent number: 11493925
Abstract: A method for predicting a collision between a mobile robot and an obstacle in an environment includes obtaining laser scan data for the mobile robot at a current location in the environment. The method also includes predicting a future location of the mobile robot in the environment and producing predicted laser scan data corresponding to the future location of the mobile robot in the environment. The method further includes assessing the predicted laser scan data relative to the mobile robot at the current location to determine whether a collision with an obstacle is predicted.

  • Patent number: 11440516
Abstract: The present disclosure includes a system, method, and device related to controlling brakes of a towed vehicle. A brake controller system includes a brake controller that controls the brakes of a towed vehicle based on acceleration. The brake controller is in communication with a speed sensor. The speed sensor determines the speed of a towing vehicle or a towed vehicle. The brake controller automatically sets a gain or boost based on the speed and acceleration.

  • Patent number: 11440518
Abstract: A vehicle braking system includes: a master cylinder; a slave cylinder communicated with the master cylinder; a vehicle behavior stabilizer communicated with the slave cylinder; first and second master cut valves, each being a normally closed valve for opening and closing a fluid flow path between the master cylinder and the slave cylinder, for making hydraulic pressures in the slave cylinder and the vehicle behavior stabilizer work in a valve closing direction; a pressure sensor for detecting the hydraulic pressure in the vehicle behavior stabilizer; and a piston controller for advancing first and second slave pistons in the slave cylinder when the hydraulic pressure on the vehicle behavior stabilizer side, detected by the pressure sensor, exceeds a predetermined value, and returning the pistons at a predetermined timing.

  • Patent number: 11436878
Abstract: A method for determining the severity of a possible collision between a motor vehicle and another vehicle is disclosed. Sensor data which describes the other vehicle is received from at least one sensor of the motor vehicle by means of a control apparatus, a change in velocity which describes a difference between a velocity (V1) of the motor vehicle before the collision and a collision velocity (Vc) of the motor vehicle (1) after the collision is determined on the basis of the sensor data, and the severity of the possible collision is determined on the basis of the determined change in velocity, wherein a mass (m2) of the other vehicle is estimated by means of the control apparatus on the basis of the sensor data, and the severity of the possible collision is additionally determined on the basis of the estimated mass (m2).

  • Patent number: 11420680
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a method for assisting a user of a motor vehicle when swerving around an obstacle on a movement path of the motor vehicle. A driver assistance device carries out the following: providing a warning signal which describes an object on the movement path and a collision area which is visible through a window, preferably a vehicle window of the motor vehicle in which the object is located; defining a swerving area visible through the vehicle window, in which a swerving point for travelling around the object is visible, generating an accentuation signal, which describes a measure for accentuating the swerving area, and transmitting the accentuation signal to an accentuation device. Depending on the accentuation signal, the measure for accentuating the swerving area is carried out. The accentuation device can control a heads-up display, a monitor integrated into the vehicle window and/or a headlight.
