Abstract: The phenols and phenol ethers are hydroxylated by reaction with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a catalytically effective amount of a titanozeosilite, advantageously a silicon oxide/titanium oxide MFI zeolite having the general formula:SI.sub.(96-x), Ti.sub.x O.sub.192.

Abstract: The present invention provides novel dyes for staining protein, particularly those in elecrophoretic gels. The dyes of the invention are derivatives of Coomassie.RTM. dyes. The invention also provides quantitative and qualitative methods for detecting proteins which comprise staining the proteins with a dye of the invention.
Abstract: Novel diheteroatom-substituted fatty acid analog substrates of myristoylating enzymes are provided which contain oxyen and/or sulfur in place of two methylene groups in carbon positions from 3 to 13 in the fatty acid chain of a C.sub.13 -C.sub.14 fatty acid analog or alkyl ester thereof in which said oxygen or sulfur atoms are separated by at least one methylene group.
