A plurality of expanded microspheres is dispersed through the thermoplastic. The microspheres are expanded to a volume in a range of between 180 square micrometers and 1450 square micrometers. The microspheres makeup between 1.0% by volume to 7.5% by volume of the hybrid underlayment. The hybrid underlayment is extruded into a flat sheet having a thickness of between 1.0 mm and 2.0 mm and a density from 7 pcf to 25 pcf. A metalized thermoplastic film is laminated to the top surface of the thermoplastic sheet. A pre-stretched laminated oriented mesh fabric is fused to the metalized thermoplastic film.
Abstract: A fastener guide for accurate spacing and aligning of fastening means in light wood frame construction, comprising a vertical leg comprising a generally flat rigid material and including a plurality of through-holes spaced according to a calculated matrix for driving fasteners therethrough to secure a first structural member to a second structural member, and a flange attached to or integral with the vertical leg and positioned approximately at a right angle thereto. The fastener guide is placed against a face of the first structural member such that the vertical leg plurality of through-holes are positioned to allow for transfer of thrust, tension and shear forces to the second structural member oriented adjacent thereto at a building frame joint. Fasteners are driven through the plurality of through-holes into the second structural member to secure the first structural member to the second structural member.
Abstract: A space saving anchor point for a concrete deck or column. The anchor point includes an external rigid member that attaches to the elongated receiver box and becomes embedded into the concrete. Formed between the two side flanges on the T-bracket is a center space that receives an elongated receiver box. The elongated box is a partially enclosed structure with a lower opening that communicates with an interior cavity. Extending between the side flanges and transversely through the interior cavity is a rod with its opposite ends that extend laterally from the sides of the side flanges and become covered with concrete. Attached to the portion of the rod located inside the elongated box's interior cavity is an elongated connector plate.
Abstract: A space saving anchor point for a concrete deck or column. The connector plate is assembled on the rod and is configured to rotate around the rod and move longitudinally inward inside the interior cavity to hidden position or moved outward from the interior cavity partially exposing the plates' second opening.
Abstract: Disclosed is a roof assembly for a modular building unit that comprises a roofing sheet that is welded to the frame of the modular building unit to form a unitary, continuous sealed weld between the roofing sheet and the generally horizontal structural frame of the modular building unit, and that is pitched to downwardly direct water toward one end of the modular building unit. The welded roof assembly prevents water infiltration into the modular building unit, and such watertight structure may then receive any gutter configuration the user wishes to implement without risking water infiltration into the building unit. The welded roofing sheet avoids the use of screws or other fasteners, and the associated possibility of water leakage around the screws and into the building unit.
Abstract: A door leaf for a vehicle, in particular for a rail vehicle. The door leaf includes a door leaf frame for supporting a first shell, which is or can be arranged on a first main surface of the door leaf frame, and a second shell, which is or can be arranged on a second main surface of the door leaf frame opposite the first main surface. The door leaf has at least one connecting piece for thermally decoupling the first shell from the second shell, the connecting piece is or can be arranged or arrangeable on the door leaf frame. The at least one connecting piece is or can be arranged on the door leaf frame so the first shell and the second shell are movable relative to each other in at least one section of movement as a result of temperature variations.

Abstract: Disclosed is a new type of two-ply solid hybrid wood flooring system that utilizes an improved, more dimensional and stable solid wood backing layer or foundation with continuous solid structural edge beams made out of many small pieces of finger jointed solid wood strips and bonded together in such a way which eliminates waste of raw material, uses less adhesive and yields the maximum structural stability. The present invention combines the dimensional stability characteristics of a traditional perpendicular-grain engineered flooring product with the benefit of the thickness of the traditional solid wood flooring.
Abstract: A retention tie system for post-construction installation to stabilize masonry or composite walls. The system comprises a tie member anchored in an anchor hole bored into the existing foundation and a tensioned against a base plate and a cover plate seated along the top of the wall. A bracing member is used to provide lateral stability to the respective plate members. A tension washer is used to ensure that the tie members are tensioned to the appropriate load.
Abstract: A method for installing a truss-wall stud unit includes coupling a set of bottom plates with a foundation, coupling a set of hinge brackets with the set of bottom plates, coupling a first partial truss with a second partial truss to form a truss-wall stud unit, coupling the truss-wall stud unit with the bottom plates and hinge brackets, and hoisting the truss-wall stud unit into a substantially vertical position. A system includes truss-wall stud units which are connected to bottom plates using hinge brackets. Once connected to the hinge brackets and bottom plates, the truss-wall stud units are hoisted upright into a substantially vertical position using a cable system with a cable support system. Temporary interlocking spacer bars are used to brace the truss-wall stud units at predetermined intervals.
Abstract: A stair system according to one illustrative embodiment comprises: a support body mountable in a wall and comprising a connecting region; a stair body; and a mounting apparatus. The mounting apparatus comprises: a connector connectable to the connecting region of the support body in any one of a plurality of different positions in the connecting region of the support body; and a holder configured to hold the stair body such that when the connector is connected to the connecting region of the support body, the stair body is spaced apart from the support body to permit a wall panel between the stair body and the support body. Wall assemblies comprising such stair systems are also disclosed.
Abstract: A modular construction system used for reinforcing all shapes of foundation, pillars, isolated footings and anti-seismic separators intended for transpiring, heat-insulation variable-geometry formwork, including at least one guide plane for the vertical elements of such reinforcement and at least one supporting bracket for such plane, said bracket being suited to make it possible to install such guide plane relative to such transpiring, “disposable” heat-insulation formwork.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of installing bathroom accessories such as towel racks on the walls of a bathroom. The method includes the following primary steps: revising accessories if said accessories lack horizontal wall fastener apertures to provide that they have at least one such aperture, selecting a location to place an accessory and marking it, drilling a fine opening at each mark to determine whether a wall stud is disposed at such opening, drilling a big enough hole to accommodate an expansion anchor collapsed end at each fine opening where no wall stud has been located, locating the accessory at that point, inserting fasteners into each aperture using a screw if a wall stud was found at that opening and using an expansion anchor at the other locations, tightening the fasteners while inserting any central element such as a towel bar, completing tightening, and covering each fastener with a cover cap.
