Patent number: 5128622Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-channel electrostatic sensor apparatus including a main oscillation circuit; a plurality of pull-in type sub-oscillation circuits which are adapted to synchronize with the main oscillation circuit to generate sub-frequency signals whose frequency is equal to the main oscillation frequency or a multiple thereof; and a plurality of resonance circuits which are sensitive to any change in exterior capacitance when detected by an associated detector for changing its resonator resonance point with respect to the sub-frequency signal. Positive synchronization of the sub-oscillation circuits with the single main oscillation circuit prevents any adverse effect from being caused by the varying stray capacitance in flexible conductors connecting the sub-oscillation circuits to the main oscillation circuit while allowing the relatively free movement of the video heads of a video system, on which video heads the sub-oscillation circuits and subsequent components are attached.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1991Date of Patent: July 7, 1992Assignee: Murata Mfg. Patent number: 5126669Abstract: Apparatus for characterizing the magnetic field of a device under test includes a device for nullifying the ambient magnetic field in a test environment area with a constant applied magnetic field, a device for rotating the device under test in the test environment area at least nearly through a complete circle, a device for sensing the magnetic field at a sensor location which is along the circumference of rotation as a function of the rotation angle for successive ones of a set of predetermined orientations of the device under test to obtain a profile of the magnetic field at the sensor location as a function of the rotation angle for each one of the predetermined orientations, a memory for storing the profiles, and a processor coupled to the memory for characterizing the magnetic field of the device from the magnetic field profiles thus obtained.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 1990Date of Patent: June 30, 1992Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Administrator, of the National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationInventors: Shawn B. Patent number: 5068613Abstract: A method and apparatus of developing a stabilized power firing event signal for a cylinder in a wasted spark ignition system having pairs of complementarily connected cylinders, each with a spark plug connected to an opposite end of an independent ignition coil. The first and second firing event signals are developed for each spark plug upon firing of the ignition coil. The first and second signals are combined with like polarity in a summation circuit for eliminating common mode signal portions. The combined signal, which is now stabilized and accurately indicates spark duration, is used for capturing secondary ignition data and may be visually displayed for analysis.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1988Date of Patent: November 26, 1991Assignee: Sun Electric CorporationInventors: Keith A. Patent number: 5065092Abstract: A system for determining probe tip alignment for a probe card having a plurality of probes downwardly extending in a defined region of the probe card. Each probe has a tip assigned to a precise X, Y position in a plane spaced from the probe card. The assigned X, Y position is dictated by the topology of the integrated circuit chip for which the probe card was designed. A first memory stores the assigned X, Y position for each of the tips, a second memory stores the measured location of the plane that each of the tips is found in, and a sensor measures the actual X, Y position of an individual probe tip. The sensor is moved to the measured plane at the assigned X, Y position for each tip and obtaining, for each tip, a meausred X, Y position.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1990Date of Patent: November 12, 1991Assignee: Triple S Engineering, Inc.Inventor: Michael R. Patent number: 5030910Abstract: In a method and apparatus for monitoring the path of the cut in slicing wrs from non-magnetizble crystalline workpieces with a slicing tool which is moved through the workpiece, a measuring unit is disposed in a defined position with respect to the slicing tool and a constant magnetic field is established between the measuring unit and the slicing tool. The magnetic field during the slicing process passes at least partly through the wafer to be sliced off and varies with deviations of the slicing tool from the required line of cut established between the fixed measuring unit and the slicing tool. By measuring the change in the constant field caused by the deviation of the slicing tool, the slicing tool can be brought back into the required direction again by regulation so that wafers with excellent planarity are obtained.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 1989Date of Patent: July 9, 1991Assignee: Wacker-Chemitronic Gesellschaft fur Elektronik-Grundstoffe mbHInventors: Joachim Junge, Johann Glas, Johann Niedermeier, Gerhard Brehm

Patent number: 4978886Abstract: At least one of grid electrodes which serves as a main lens of an electron gun for use in a color cathode ray tube is divided into a plurality of cylindrical electrodes coaxially connected. An inner electrode is provided at the connection part between the cylindrical electrodes so that the center of an elliptical aperture of the inner electrode coincides with the center of an inner wall of the grid electrode. Thus, astigmatism in the main lens is removed, thereby improving the resolution of the color cathode ray tube.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1988Date of Patent: December 18, 1990Assignees: Hitachi, Ltd., Hitachi Device Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventors: Satoru Miyamoto, Yoshiaki Takahashi, Katsuyuki Shirai, Ikuya Takahara, Satoru Endo
