Abstract: In one embodiment, candidate routing backup paths are limited based on policy considerations. In one embodiment, a smaller plurality of next-hop candidates is established by policy filtering a plurality of next-hop candidates for backing up one or more routes over one or more links to a first packet switching device in a network, with the smaller plurality of next-hop candidates consisting of fewer next-hops than in the plurality of next-hop candidates. A shortest-path, loop free backup route is determined for each of the plurality of routes by considering each of the smaller plurality of next-hop candidates and not all of the plurality of next-hop candidates. This routing information corresponding to each of said determined shortest-path, loop free backup routes for use in backing up corresponding routes is installed in a routing data structure.

Abstract: A computing system architecture is based upon a peer-to-peer, asynchronous model. The architecture specifies a set of infrastructure facilities that comprise an inter-prise operating system. The inter-prise operating system provides all the facilities that make application coding as easy in the peer-to-peer asynchronous model as it is in a hierarchical, synchronous model. Services, which reside in containers, are linked asynchronously by an inter-prise bus and use data from a virtual data store.

Abstract: An approach for a publisher-assisted, broker-based cache that can be utilized to reduce a volume of data delivered between a publisher and broker is provided. Specifically, when a message is being generated on a publisher system, the publisher system will determine if the message includes a set of data that has a potential to be repeated in subsequent messages. An identified set of data will be associated/marked/tagged with a unique identifier corresponding thereto. The modified message will be sent to a broker system, which will detect/locate the unique identifier, cache the corresponding data, and send the message along to any applicable subscriber systems. When a subsequent message that is supposed to contain the cached set of data is generated, the publisher system will substitute the unique identifier for the set of data to yield an abbreviated message and send the abbreviated message to the broker system.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying an optimal configuration of a resource is described. In one embodiment, the method for using a health scoring technique to improve a health of the computer comprises processing profile information and a health score associated with the computer having a resource, wherein the profile information indicates installed software and hardware configuration, wherein the health score represents a health of the computer and identifying an optimal configuration of the resource based on profile information and the health score.

Abstract: A method for displaying live video of a tooth identifies a tooth tissue region in a viewable image frame obtained from a video stream and processes pixel data within the tooth tissue region to identify a suspected caries site. Intensity values for pixels that correspond to the suspected caries site are modified and a highlighted viewable image frame is formed as a combination of the modified intensity values corresponding to the suspected caries site and other pixel values in the viewable image frame. The highlighted viewable image frame is displayed in video form.

Abstract: Storage and network transmission bandwidth requirements of a portable image capture device are reduced. An online service using at least one hardware server on a network provides action information for an image capture device, the action information corresponding to an action that can be performed on images by the online service. A captured image is received uploaded from the image capture device to the online service. A request is received from the image capture device to perform the action for the uploaded image. The request includes an image identifier assigned by the online service.

Abstract: A method, server and system for optimizing the delivery of email messages is provided. In accordance with one embodiment, the method comprises: receiving an email message containing at least two alternative versions of content, each version being in a different format; obtaining a reduced email message from the received email message, the reduced email message containing fewer versions than the received email message; and sending the reduced email message to the mobile communication device.

Abstract: Methods and systems for distributed push-to-storage with redundancy. One method includes the steps of setting at least two storage groups according to a required storage redundancy; registering a plurality of peer-to-peer devices; associating the peer-to-peer devices with at least one of the storage groups; receiving a first content having a large size to be stored in the at least two storage groups; fragmenting the first content into a plurality of first content fragments having a small size; and distributing the first content fragments approximately homogenously between the peer-to-peer devices associated with each storage group according to a first distribution function associated with each storage group.

Abstract: Controlling access to a file includes selecting, by a first network node in a peer to peer file sharing system, a file to make available for sharing with a second network node in the peer to peer file sharing system, the file being stored on the first network node. The first network node sends index information associated with the selected file to the second network node. The second network node subsequently performs a local search of a set of index information associated with a set of files stored in the peer to peer file sharing system to locate the index information for the selected file; and requests a copy of the selected file from the first network node using the index information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for creating predictive filters for messages. In one embodiment, filter information is coupled to a reputation database. One or more filters for a message feature are generated if a reputation of the message feature is associated with one or more portions of the filter information. In one embodiment, SPAM filters are generated. In yet another embodiment, one or more message features are tested using heuristics. One or more message features are blacklisted based on a determination of the heuristics. One or more additional message filters are generated if a reputation of the message feature is associated with a blacklisted feature.

Abstract: Message routing between a mobile communication network and wireless devices is enabled by establishing a communication session between a mobile router and the mobile communication network which includes the mobile router being assigned an IP address. A wireless device is authenticated to the mobile communication network through the mobile router so that the wireless device is uniquely identifiable to the mobile communication network. A new packet data network (PDN) connection is established between the wireless device and the mobile communication network over the communication session established with the mobile communication network based on an IP address uniquely assigned to the wireless device by the mobile communication network.

A first capture unit captures: a visible first color component of a visible left image combined with a fluorescence left image from first light from one channel in the endoscope; a visible second color component of the visible left image from the first light; and a visible third color component of the visible left image from the first light. A second capture unit captures: a visible first color component of a visible right image combined with a fluorescence right image from second light from the other channel in the endoscope; a visible second color component of the visible right image from the second light; and a visible third color component of the visible right image from the second light. An augmented stereoscopic outputs a real-time stereoscopic image including a three-dimensional presentation including the visible left and right images and the fluorescence left and right images.
