  • Patent number: 9977763
Abstract: A system and method are provided for network proxying. The network proxying may occur in a node of a fabric or across nodes in the fabric. In the network proxying, the node has a processor with a low power mode and the system remaps, by a management processor of the node, a port identifier for a processor that is in a low power mode to the management processor. The management processor then processes a plurality of packets that contain the port identifier for the processor that is in the low power mode to maintain a network presence of the node.

  • Patent number: 9973949
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed that may perform ranging operations between an initiator device and a responder device. The initiator device may request the responder device to perform a ranging operation. The responder device may transmit a first fine timing measurement (FTM) frame to the initiator device, may receive an acknowledgement (ACK) frame from the responder device, and may transmit a second FTM frame to the initiator device. The second FTM frame may include a time value and angle information. The time value may indicate a difference between a time of departure (TOD) of the first FTM frame and a time of arrival (TOA) of the ACK frame. The angle information may indicate a direction of the initiator device relative to the responder device. The initiator device may determine its position, relative to the responder device, based at least in part on the received time value and angle information.

  • Patent number: 9929830
Abstract: An access point receives notification of a bit rate setting specifying a throughput needed to transmit corresponding content to a communication device. Based on the bit rate setting, the wireless access point identifies a set of multiple possible modulation-coding options supporting transmission of data at different bit rates greater than the bit rate setting needed to transmit the corresponding content. The wireless access point selects a respective modulation-coding option that provides a throughput bit rate that is lower than a modulation-coding option in the set providing a highest possible throughput bit rate. Selection of the lower bit rate modulation-coding option provides adequate capacity to transmit the corresponding content, yet does so with a higher signal to noise ratio than would be provided by the higher bit rate modulation-coding option. Subsequent to selection, the wireless access point transmits the corresponding content to the communication device via the selected modulation-coding option.

  • Patent number: 9923677
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for multiplexing many client streams over a single connection. A proxy server establishes multiple TCP connections with respective clients that desire to access a web server connected to the proxy server via a multiplexed TCP connection. TCP packets received from the clients via the TCP connections are separated out based on their TCP connections, a packet payload data is extracted and added to client data streams. Data segments comprising sequential runs of bits from the client data streams and embedded in multiplexed (MUX) TCP packets that are sent over the multiplexed TCP connection. Upon receipt, the web server de-encapsulates the data segments and buffers them in queues allocated for each TCP connection in re-assembled client data streams. This enables the packet flows transported over the multiplexed connection for the TCP connections to be individually controlled.

  • Patent number: 9872189
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure relate to systems and methods for determining asymmetric downlink and uplink propagation delays in a wireless distribution system (WDS) for more accurately determining propagation delay. In this regard, a WDS is configured to determine both the separate downlink and uplink propagation delays between a central unit and a plurality of remote units. It is not presumed that the downlink propagation delay and the uplink propagation delay in the WDS are symmetric to provide a more accurate determination of propagation delay. Therefore, it is possible to determine the downlink and uplink propagation delays with improved accuracy, thus enabling more precise location identification in the WDS.

  • Patent number: 9843408
Abstract: Techniques described herein relate to reducing co-channel interference between macrocells and small cells in a heterogeneous network environment. Macrocells and small cells may dynamically select from among multiple interfaces (e.g., an X2 or S1 interface) to communicate FeICIC control communications. In one implementation, the selection may be based on the round trip delay (RTD) time between pairs of nodes. Thus, the macrocells and small cells nodes may dynamically select either the X1 or S1 interface based on whichever of these interfaces has the smallest RTD to the destination radio node.
