Abstract: A head-worn device system includes one or more cameras, one or more display devices and one or more processors. The system also includes a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, configure the system to perform operations to initiate or join a joint visual computing session. The method may comprise receiving user input to initiate a joint session of a visual computing experience, monitoring for short-range data transmissions including data indicating the existence of a current session of the visual computing experience, and based on determining that a current session is in process, providing a user input option to join the current session of the visual computing experience.

Abstract: A logical router includes disaggregated network elements that function as a single router and that are not coupled to a common backplane. The logical router includes spine elements and leaf elements implementing a network fabric with front panel ports being defined by leaf elements. Control plane elements program the spine units and leaf to function a logical router. The control plane may define operating system interfaces mapped to front panel ports of the leaf elements and referenced by tags associated with packets traversing the logical router. Redundancy and checkpoints may be implemented for a route database implemented by the control plane elements. The logical router may include a standalone fabric and may implement label tables that are used to label packets according to egress port and path through the fabric.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and techniques for isolating the performance of a quality-of-service (QoS) policy for improved data streaming systems and applications. In at least one embodiment, a metric is determined for a QoS policy used to provide an application session based on a value of at least one characteristic of the application session that reflects an impact of one or more external conditions beyond the control of the QoS policy.

Abstract: A metrics collecting method includes: obtaining metrics configuration information, the metrics configuration information including information of a metrics reporting time segment; generating metrics reporting configuration information of a media streaming service; and transmitting the metrics reporting configuration information to a user equipment to cause the user equipment to perform metrics reporting of the media streaming service. The technical solutions provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure may control the metrics reporting of the user equipment with enhanced flexibity.

Abstract: This disclosure provides embedding a messaging channel directly into a media stream, where messages delivered via the embedded messaging channel are the extracted at a client media player. An advantage of embedding a message is that it can be done in a single ingest point and then passes transparently through a CDN architecture, effectively achieving message replication using the native CDN media delivery infrastructure.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for differentiating an XR device from other devices when initiating communications with an Internet gateway. Initially the XR device sends a probe request to the Internet gateway, where the probe request includes an identifier of the device type and network requirements of the XR device. It is determined that the particular device type and network requirements in the probe request are supported by the Internet gateway, and is communicated to the XR device in the form of a probe response. A communication session is set up between the XR device, the Internet gateway, and a network, the communication session including QoS control based on the device type and network requirements of the XR device.

Abstract: Techniques to handle calls to web services via a service proxy are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a technique includes an intermediate server receiving a request from a client device to the web service at a target server. In response to receiving the request, the intermediate server can authenticate the received request from the client device and upon successful authentication of the received request, forward the request to the targeted server and invoking the web service to process the forwarded request because the intermediate server is authenticated with the target server. The technique can also include receiving, at the intermediate server, data from the target server that represents execution results of the request by the web service at the target server. Upon receiving the data, the intermediate server can then forward to the client device, the data representing execution results of the request by the web service at the target server.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to accessing and interacting with requested web content using a modified web farm framework. A computing platform may receive a consumer request to connect to a virtual workspace. The computing platform may parse the consumer request to identify a cookie that contains server connections details associated with the virtual workspace. The computing platform may transmit the cookie to the consumer and may receive, from the consumer, a request to connect to a pod and a server that host the virtual workspace. The computing platform may monitor a server connection between the consumer and the virtual workspace to determine whether the server connection was lost and/or terminated. Based on determining the server connection was lost and/or terminated, the computing platform may transmit a notification to the consumer indicating the same. The computing platform may receive, from the consumer, a request to initiate a server re-connection loop.

Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides an economic development system, which enables individuals within a community to efficiently identify and express their interests in one or more economic propositions. The economic development system comprises an application which allows users to uniquely interface with the one or more economic propositions. Users of the economic development system are able to efficiently identify and express support or disapprove for one or more economic propositions. A plurality of engagement mechanisms is provided by the economic development system to assist users in democratizing their interests. The economic development system also allows for crowdfunding of economic propositions and further provides valuable statistical data which can be utilized by developers, business owners, and local municipalities to implement one or more economic propositions.

Abstract: A system configures a test case including a test script to validate a new product. The test script has a logic flow for communications through a sequence of network nodes and the test case includes pass/fail criteria for parameter data of packets communicated between the sequence of network nodes. The system initiates an automation engine that is configured to execute the test script and validates the new product based on actual parameter data relative to the pass/fail criteria. The system simulates the enhanced calling or messaging communications service to utilize by the new product during the test. The system instantiates a network probe that captures packets of the network nodes and extracts actual parameter data, which is compared to expected parameter data to generate test results relative to the pass/fail criteria. The system can present an indication that the new product passed/failed the test case based on the test results.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to token-based authentication mechanism. A computing device may receive information, determined by one or more sensors systems, corresponding to a user. The user information may comprise user biological information as measured by the one or more sensor systems. The computing device may generate a token based on the received user information. The computing device may store the generated token, in a memory associated with the computing device. The computing device may transmit the token to a user token device corresponding to the user. The user token device may be used to authenticate the user.

Abstract: Example apparatus disclosed herein are to send a request to a media provider that is to cause the media provider to initiate transmission of a transport stream that is to provide streaming media to a media presentation device. Disclosed example apparatus are also to extract metering metadata from a data file to be received by the media presentation device after the transmission of the transport stream is initiated by the media provider but before receipt by the media presentation device of the transport stream that is to provide the streaming media to the media presentation device, the data file associated with the transport stream. Disclosed example apparatus are further to report the metering metadata to a server in response to a detected event, and access an identification of secondary media responsive to the report of the metering metadata, the secondary media to be presented by the media presentation device.

Abstract: A method for managing adaptive progressive downloading of digital content broadcast in real time within a multimedia stream player terminal is disclosed. The method includes obtaining a description file of the digital content, including a list of time segments of the content to be downloaded each associated with several encoding rates of the content, and determining an encoding rate of the time segments to be downloaded for real time rendering of the content, according to a resource constraint of the terminal. If the determined encoding rate is less than a maximum encoding rate proposed in the description file, the method implements a selection of an option: of downloading the time segments at the determined encoding rate and rendering the content in real time; or of downloading the time segments at an encoding rate higher than the determined encoding rate and rendering the content offline.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method, a system, and a computer program product for streaming. The method includes: acquiring, during transmission of a stream, information indicating resources of a receiver of the stream available for compensating for degradation of a transmission quality of the stream; and determining at least a target transmission quality of the stream based at least on the resources of the receiver and network resources available for transmitting the stream. This solution provides a more flexible adaptive balance mechanism for streaming, and further optimizes utilization of various resources and user experience in streaming.

Triggered by receipt of a notification indicative of predicted network congestion, the electronic device requests and downloads a next increment of the content data at a second quality level lower than the first quality level from the content server.

Abstract: A distributed network system for call processing, according to one embodiment, includes: a plurality of relay devices; and a call routing server for managing information about the plurality of relay devices and information about subscribers registered to the plurality of relay devices, where each of the plurality of relay devices can include: a database; a protocol relay unit; a call processing unit for checking whether the sender of a call and the receiver of the call are at least one subscriber, on the basis of an SIP signal incoming through the protocol relay unit; and a packet processing unit for realigning incoming phone call packets of the call according to the sequence of the phone call packets, and adjusting the transmission speed of the realigned phone call packets according to a situation in which the phone call packets are incoming.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for streaming content. The embodiments described herein may apply to ABR streaming and output an optimized ABR ladder enabling a playback device to maximize the perceived video quality of received content, provide substantially constant visual quality, and/or minimize rebuffering content. The playback device may request an ABR representation associated with an ABR ladder that has been optimized based on one or more neural networks. The one or more neural networks may be pre-trained based on one or more properties and characteristics/features of the video content. The one or more neural networks may process the video content to dynamically determine parameters such as the bitrates of each ABR representation for the content. The parameters may be used to output the encoded ABR representations.

Abstract: A method and a mobile terminal are provided in which a first user interface is provided by which a user selects a first setting indicating whether still images stored in the mobile terminal are to be stored in a web server. A second user interface is provided by which the user selects a second setting indicating whether the still images are to be transmitted to the web server via a wireless local area network (LAN) if the mobile terminal enters a wireless LAN service area.
