  • Patent number: 9742812
Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring communication traffic in communication networks, such as Internet Protocol (IP) traffic transferred over the Internet or over a wireless network. The disclosed techniques identify communication traffic that is associated with target individuals, by extracting digital images from the traffic and recognizing target individuals who appear in the images. A correlation system monitors communication sessions that are conducted in a communication network to identify known target individuals who appear in images. Upon recognizing a target individual in an image extracted from a certain session, the system correlates this target user with one or more of the communication identifiers used in the session. The system automatically identifies IP addresses or other identifiers that are used by target individuals, and enable subsequent tracking of such identifiers.

  • Patent number: 9741106
Abstract: The effect of a treatment on a rock sample or sub-sample extracted from the rock sample can be analyzed through computed tomography (CT). To determine the effect of a treatment of a rock sample or the sub-sample, pre-treatment and post-treatment CT images of the rock sample or the sub-sample are captured. Further, the pre-treatment CT images and post-treatment CT images of the rock sample or the sub-sample are compared based on one or more alignment markers added to the rock sample or the sub-sample. In some embodiments, pre-treatment and post-treatment CT scans of an extracted sub-sample provide higher-resolution information regarding the effect of the treatment. Further, pre-treatment and post-treatment CT scans of a rock sample with a restored sub-sample may be considered and may provide additional information regarding the effect of the treatment on the rock sample or the sub-sample.

  • Patent number: 9740915
Abstract: Methods and systems to identify relationships between individuals by analyzing digital images and automatically detecting individuals who appear together in the images. A link analysis system accepts one or more digital images, and automatically recognizes individuals who appear together in the images. The system may recognize the individuals, for example, by applying a suitable face recognition process to the images. Upon identifying individuals who appear together, the system defines a relationship between them and acts upon the relationship.

  • Patent number: 9628723
Abstract: A method and apparatus of aligning calibration projection data with object projection data to improve calibration corrections of the object projection data. In a first implementation, the method interpolates and upsamples both the calibration and object data, then shifts the upsampled calibration data to match a sub-view angular offset of the object data, and then performs calibration corrections before down-sampling the corrected object data. In a second implementation, the method continuously scans an object space—with the object absent (present) in the object space—to obtain calibration data (object absent) and object data (object present) both having the same sub-view angular offset. In a third implementation, the method obtains multiple scans having different sub-view angular offsets, organizes the scans into bins according to their respective sub-view angular offsets, and chooses the appropriate sub-view angular offsets bin for calibration corrections of the object data.

  • Patent number: 9542585
Abstract: A method to improve the efficiency of the detection and tracking of machine-readable objects is disclosed. The properties of image frames may be pre-evaluated to determine whether a machine-readable object, even if present in the image frames, would be likely to be detected. After it is determined that one or more image frames have properties that may enable the detection of a machine-readable object, image data may be evaluated to detect the machine-readable object. When a machine-readable object is detected, the location of the machine-readable object in a subsequent frame may be determined based on a translation metric between the image frame in which the object was identified and the subsequent frame rather than a detection of the object in the subsequent frame. The translation metric may be identified based on an evaluation of image data and/or motion sensor data associated with the image frames.

  • Patent number: 9467598
Abstract: A system and method for carrying out improved spatial and color adaptive gamut mapping algorithms, based on image decomposition in two bands Ihigh and Ilow using 5D bilateral filtering. A function g( ) applied to the low-pass band Ilow carries out black point compensation followed by a gamut clipping algorithm. Function k( ) applied to Ihigh is a locally adaptive function. The merging and adaptive mapping of IhighM and IlowM by function f( ) using local adaptive implementations of the two families of pointwise GMAs: compression and clipping is carried out. Two functions f( ) are proposed, they take into account the color properties of the neighborhood of each pixel.

  • Patent number: 9449250
Abstract: Techniques for providing an image download protection may be provided. In particular, an original image may be protected from being downloaded by providing a substitute image in its place, identified by a plurality of layers that are configured to look substantially similar to the original image. However, when a user device attempts to quickly store the image (e.g., by right-clicking on the image and selecting “save”), the user device can be hindered from downloading the substantially similar looking image because only one layer may be stored on the user device. In some examples, the layer of the image looks substantially distinct from the original image, but the layer in combination with a plurality of other layers can look substantially similar to the original image.

  • Patent number: 9418291
Abstract: A pattern light projection unit which stores information on pattern light including information on line patterns projects pattern light including line patterns having at least two lines and at least one reference line pattern serving as a reference of the line patterns on an object in accordance with the information on pattern light. An image pickup unit captures an image of the object to which the pattern light is projected. An information processing apparatus detects the reference line pattern and the line patterns from the captured image, and establishes correspondence between the information on the line patterns stored in the pattern light projection unit and the line patterns detected from the captured image in accordance with the topological positional relationship between the detected reference line pattern and the line patterns so as to identify the line patterns.
