  • Patent number: 12352581
Abstract: A method for ascertaining an initial pose of a vehicle using a control device. Measured data ascertained by a GNSS sensor system and/or an odometry sensor system are received and evaluated to ascertain an approximate pose of the vehicle with a margin of uncertainty. At least one trajectory of road users is extracted from a trajectory map for the ascertained margin of uncertainty. Test points are positioned along the extracted trajectory. An optimization algorithm is performed for each test point along the trajectory. The optimization algorithm ascertains poses having corresponding cost functions. A pose having the greatest cost function is determined as the initial pose of the vehicle from the poses ascertained by the optimization algorithm. A control device, a computer program, and a machine-readable storage medium are also provided.

  • Patent number: 12321765
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for providing on-demand localization in a microservice application environment. Generally described, an on-demand localization environment enables the system to serve localized user interface labels for an existing, e.g., monolith application, on-demand-without impacting the existing setup of the application or its present means of handling localizations. The described approach can ensure that only the localization which is needed for a particular user interface or visited page is served, without incurring additional round-trips back to the server for user interface messages that could have been served from the client. For applications and user interfaces comprising more than one module, the system can retrieve the localization for each of the modules in a single call.

  • Patent number: 12273400
Abstract: A user authentication system comprising one or more cloud server computers storing a user database storing user data associated with a user account and one or more corresponding user graphical representations, and a facial scanning and authentication module connected to the database. The one or more cloud server computers are configured to authenticate a user by performing a facial scanning of the user, including extracting facial feature data from camera data received from a client device and checking the extracted facial feature data for a match against a user graphical representation associated with the user account in the user database. If a matching user graphical representation is found in the checking step, the system provides the user with access to the corresponding user account. Otherwise, the system generates, from the camera data, a new user graphical representation along with a new user account stored in the user database.

  • Patent number: 12260080
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed preventing accidents by altering user interfaces of self-driving vehicles based on movements of passengers in the self-driving vehicles. The system and methods generate for display media content on a user interface for a self-driving vehicle and determine whether a value of movement from a wearable user device of a user within the self-driving vehicle exceeds a threshold value (indicating the maximum value at which the self-driving vehicle removes the media content on the user interface). Responsive to a determination that the value of the movement from the wearable user device exceeds the threshold value, the system and methods remove the media content on the user interface for the self-driving vehicle.

  • Patent number: 12174314
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for generating non-semantic reference data for determining the position of a motor vehicle involves a set of raw data points being provided that models a stipulated surrounding area. A stipulated descriptor characterizing a property of the surrounding area is determined for each of the raw data points. At least one point cluster is generated by grouping the raw data points on the basis of their descriptors. A characteristic number relating to an information gain for determining the position of the motor vehicle is assigned to a first point cluster on the basis of the descriptors of the raw data points. The characteristic number is taken as a basis for storing feature information of the first point cluster on a memory unit as non-semantic reference data for determining the position.
