  • Patent number: 5762238
Abstract: A spray bottle which comprises a bottle body having a mouth around which an annular groove is formed and a spraying pump having a stem located through the mouth of the bottle body for pumping up and spraying out liquid contained in the bottle body. The spraying pump includes a press-knob incorporating a spraying nozzle provided at an upper end of the stem and a cap provided co-axially around the stem for locating the overall spraying pump in position upon fitting over the mouth. An O-ring is located in the annular groove for engagement with an inner side of the cap for sealing.

  • Patent number: 5339999
Abstract: A metering device includes a valve body defining a chamber extending longitudinally between an inlet and an outlet and an intake valve having an opening extending into the chamber adjacent the inlet and a metering valve having an opening extending into the chamber between the intake valve and the outlet. A tube is connected to the chamber outlet, and a reciprocable piston closure is positioned for sealing the chamber from the tube. An intake piston is positioned within the intake valve and reciprocates in operation to draw product into the chamber in a retracted position and to seal the chamber inlet in an extended position. A metering piston is positioned within the metering valve and reciprocates in operation to draw product into the chamber in a retracted position and to expel product from the chamber by forcing product to open the flap in an extended position.

  • Patent number: 5320254
Abstract: A liquid dispensing nozzle assembly is provided for mounting on a liquid container and dispenser having a flexible wall and liquid storage cavity for manually squeezed dispensing of a liquid from the cavity through the nozzle assembly. The nozzle assembly maintains the liquid, such as contact lens saline solution, in sterile condition during storage and repeated dispensing of the liquid from the container cavity. The nozzle assembly includes a liquid conduit for communication from the container cavity to a liquid discharge port from the nozzle assembly to enable dispensing of the liquid displaced by manually squeezing the flexible wall of the container. The nozzle assembly also includes an air aspiration conduit separate from the liquid conduit for aspirating air into the container cavity to replace the dispensed liquid. The nozzle assembly includes a partitioned diaphragm including separate portions respectively included in the liquid conduit and the air aspiration conduit.

  • Patent number: 5292039
Abstract: A bottle for storing a liquid and dispensing measured quantities thereof. The bottle has a large storage chamber and a small measuring chamber, each chamber including its own threaded, removable cap. The measuring chamber is adjacent and partially above the storage chamber, an opening extending and communicating therebetween. The opening opens to the top of the storage chamber and to the middle of the measuring chamber. A conduit controlled by a manually operated valve extends and communicates between the lowermost portion of the storage chamber and the lowermost portion of the measuring chamber. In a preferred embodiment, the conduit forms a loop with the remainder of the bottle, thus serving as a handle. In this embodiment, the manual valve is located such that it is operated by the hand grasping the handle. In use, the bottle is first inverted, and the valve held open, so that stored liquid fills the measuring chamber.

  • Patent number: 5213237
Abstract: A low profile, lock-gate type of valve for handling dry particulate material forms a conduit therethrough, and a pair of curved flow control blades are mounted on arms and are pivoted with respect to the conduit, to define therebetween a flow measuring chamber, in which the blades are supplied with the convex surface facing the direction of flow in the conduit. The conduit is dog-legged within the valve to provide a low valve profile, and the blades are fully enclosed within the blade housing. A part of the enclosure walls form surfaces on which air cylinders are mounted for controlling the movement of the valve blades. The valve blade seals are accessible from an exterior wall of the valve and are replaceable by extraction through wall openings, and the valve seals are mounted on external brackets on the valve side walls so that they may be easily withdrawn and replaced.

  • Patent number: 4941595
Abstract: A spray pump comprising a main cylinder and a secondary cylinder with a main piston and a secondary piston, first and second springs are provided for urging the pistons to particular positions. A fixed attachment between the main piston and the secondary cylinder and the latter forms a space with a closed bottom and an open upper end through which the interior of the main cylinder and the secondary cylinder are in communication.
