Abstract: A medical surgical cover sheet comprises a hydrophobic fabric (11) and a hydrophilic fabric or knitted structure (16) arranged thereon. A pocket can be formed between the hydrophilic and hydrophobic fabrics and can receive an absorbent material. Provision is made for stiffening the edge adjacent the surgical wound and for adhesively connecting the cover sheet to the patient's skin adjacent the site of the operation.
