Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for the intelligent, automated, and dynamic selection of anchor evolved Node Bs (“eNBs”) for Next Generation Node Bs (“gNBs”) in a Non-Standalone (“NSA”) wireless network environment. An eNB may be selected as an anchor eNB based on distance to a particular gNB, and one or more sectors of the anchor eNB may be selected as anchors based on coverage areas associated with the sectors. Sectors of additional eNBs may be identified based on frequent handovers between the identified sectors of the anchor eNB and sectors of the additional eNBs. Selected eNBs and/or sectors may be notified of the designation as an anchor, and may thus provide gNB carrier information to connected User Equipment (“UE”), which may facilitate the connection of such UEs to the gNB.

Abstract: A method and system is disclosed for populating a local second line service (“SLS”) database in a telecommunications device (“TD”). The local SLS database is for use by an SLS application that provides a second line service to the user of the TD. To populate the local SLS database, historical data associated with prior use of the TD is mined for relevant information. Relevant information may include, for example, a primary phone number associated with other contact data. Relevant information is then used to populate the local SLS database. The local SLS database is then updated with a relationship number(s) in association with the relevant information. The relationship number enables the SLS application to direct a telecommunication to the primary number via a remote SLS platform.

Abstract: A method for facilitating a wireless transaction includes receiving, by a transaction fulfillment system, a transaction request from a transaction requester and verifying an identity of the transaction requester. After verifying the identity of the transaction requester, a transaction code is communicated from the transaction fulfillment system to a wireless communication device. After receiving the transaction code, the transaction code is optically scanned from a visual display of the wireless communication device by the transaction fulfillment system.

Abstract: A mobile device can include ranging circuitry to determine distance to another mobile device. A first wireless protocol can establish an initial communication session to perform authentication and/or exchange ranging settings. A second protocol can perform ranging, and other wireless protocols can transmit content. In one example, the distance information can be used to display a relative position of another device on a user interface of a sending device. The user interface can allow a user to quickly and accurately select the recipient device for sending the data item. As other example, the distance information obtained from ranging can be used to trigger a notification (e.g., a reminder) to be output from a first mobile device or used to display a visual indicator on a receiving device. Proximity of a device (e.g., as determined by a distance) can be used to suggest recipient for a new communication.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for providing protection from economic exploitation. The apparatus and methods may include a platform for tagging a social security number and/or other suitable identification number. The system may allow a person associated with a social security number to automatically flag and deny any product or service request associated with the social security number. The alarms are “silent,” because the alarm may initiate an institution internal process in which the customer interaction with the institution follows a normal evaluation process until an intervention can be effectively executed on behalf of the customer. This reduces the likelihood of a reaction from the customer's associate prior to completing the evaluation process. A system may provide the customer with an opportunity to electronically activate an alarm by typing keystrokes on a card reader keypad or interacting with a physical sensor on the reader, on the card, or the like.
