  • Patent number: 6803265
Abstract: A manufacturing method for an integrated circuit memory includes providing a semiconductor substrate and depositing a charge-trapping dielectric layer. First and second bitlines are implanted and a wordline layer is deposited. A hard mask layer is deposited over the wordline layer. A photoresist is deposited over the wordline layer and used to form a hard mask. The photoresist is removed. The wordline layer is processed using the hard mask to form a wordline and the hard mask is removed. A reduced hydrogen, ultra-violet block data retention liner covers the wordline and the charge-trapping dielectric layer. The reduced hydrogen levels reduce the charge loss compared to prior art. The surface of the liner is processed to block UV light before completing the integrated circuit.

  • Patent number: 6730606
Abstract: A masking material (14) is formed on a foundation layer (12) and a substrate (10). A mask (16) is disposed onto the masking material (14) where a trench (26) is desired to be formed. An etch step removes all of the masking material (14) except at regions where the mask (16) was formed leaving a protruding portion (18) with an opening (20) on either side. An epi layer (24), is grown on the foundation layer (12) adjacent to the protruding portion (18) in the opening (20). A wet oxide etch process is used to remove the protruding portion (18) leaving a trench (26) formed in the epi layer (24). To complete the process, a silicon wet etch process is used to round off the corners at an edge (28) of the trench (26).

  • Patent number: 6514089
Abstract: A flexible substrate is attached to a terminal connecting device by inserting hold pins of the terminal connecting device to associated holes of the flexible substrate. The terminal connecting device is attached to recesses of an external substrate by means of hold body sections, and concurrently, the signal input/output terminals of the flexible substrate are connected to those of the external substrate. The terminal connecting device is provided with resin springs acting as springs for pressing the signal input/output terminals of the flexible substrate to those of the external substrate to ensure that the signal input/output terminals of the flexible substrate are pressed to those of the external substrate to establish connections between these signal input/output terminals. With this arrangement, a terminal connecting device for a flexible substrate can be offered which allows for readily establishing connection between the external substrate and the flexible substrate.

  • Patent number: 6234826
Abstract: A connector includes a first housing half and a second housing half, with one of the connector halves being a socket half, and the other connector half being a plug half. A latching mechanism is provided so that when the connector halves are assembled, they are latched together in the assembled position. A CPA device is also provided which is independent of the connector halves. The CPA device may be securely mounted on one of the connector halves prior to assembly of the connector halves. Following latching of the connector halves into the assembled condition, the CPA device may be slid forward to a final position to lock the latching mechanism to prevent the connector from being inadvertently unlatched. Also, if the connector halves are not fully and properly assembled, it is not possible to slide the CPA device into the final position.

  • Patent number: 6164980
Abstract: A three point alignment feature facilitates alignment of an integrated circuit chip relative to a socket that is mounted on a printed circuit board 14. The socket includes four walls that define a rectangle in which the integrated circuit chip is mounted. A first contact point 28 extends inward from a first one 22 of the walls. Second and third contact points 30, 32 extend inward from a second one 20 of the walls, which adjoins the first wall. A first force is applied against the integrated circuit chip from a third one 18 of the walls, which is parallel with the first wall. Second and third forces are applied against the integrated circuit chip from a fourth one 16 of the walls, which is parallel with the second wall. Hence, the integrated circuit chip is aligned in a corner defined by the first and second walls, and is oriented by the three contact points. Spring members 34, 36, 38, 40 may be employed to provide the first, second and third forces.
