Abstract: Enables a local positioning and response system that allows devices in a defined area to determine their local positions in the area, and to generate individual responses based on their positions, for example based on broadcast messages. Responses can include light, sound, shock, vibration, temperature or any other physical signal. Positioning may use overlapping shaped beam signals that permit each device to determine its local position. Response to broadcast messages with local position dependency enables efficient communication with potentially thousands or millions of response units over limited bandwidth channels. Efficient communication may also be supported by messages containing high-level graphical primitives, with devices determining their individual contributions to an aggregate image. The system may also provide correction for image distortions.
Abstract: A method for dynamically clocking one component located into a Wireless telecommunication apparatus comprising a RF transceiver subject to desensizitation by said component EMI, characterized in that it involves the steps of performing an adaptive control on the clock rate of said component so as to locate a wideband noise PSD null just to the left or to the right, in the frequency domain, of the RF transceiver wanted carrier frequency (fw) Particularly, the control is performed by means of the control of programmable frequency dividers, and under the control of a general control unit (UCM) for the purpose of performing a contextual analysis of the current mode of operation of said wireless telecommunications and, in response to said contextual analysis, for determining the fine tuning of the clock rate to be applied to said component.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a method and system for realizing integrity protection. The method includes: a radio connection is reestablished between a base station and a terminal, and the base station notifies the terminal of integrity protection configuration information included in a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection reconfiguration signaling after the radio connection is reestablished. With the method in the disclosure, the terminal explicitly acquires the point in time of applying integrity protection, and explicitly knows a data packet to which the integrity protection is applied; furthermore, a Data Radio Bearer (DRB) integrity protection configuration is modified through the first RRC connection reconfiguration signaling after the radio connection is reestablished, thereby it is avoided that the point in time of modifying integrity protection configuration is directly introduced into the RRC signaling, thus reducing the air interface load.
Abstract: A method for estimating position using WLAN access point radio propagation characteristics in a WLAN location based service is provided. A location-based services system has a plurality of Wi-Fi access points in a target area. The Wi-Fi access points are positioned at geographic locations and have signal coverage areas. A method of characterizing at least one of the Wi-Fi access points comprises determining the geographic location of the Wi-Fi access point, dividing the signal coverage area of the Wi-Fi access point into at least one section, and determining radio propagation characteristics for each section. The radio propagation characteristics of each section characterize a radio channel of the Wi-Fi access point, and the characterization can be used in a location algorithm.

Abstract: A system comprising a wireless earphone set and a client computing device, both of which are communicable with a host server via the Internet. The host server stores configuration parameters for the wireless earphone set that are transmittable to the wireless earphone set via the Internet, and that are configurable by an authenticated user of the client computing device via the host server to generate updated configuration parameters for the wireless earphone set. The updated configuration parameters for the wireless earphone set are transmitted by the host server to the wireless earphone set via the Internet.

Abstract: A first device may communicate by joining a wireless mesh network that includes at least one wireless device configured to operate a wireless routing protocol, discovering a group of other wireless devices configured to participate in the wireless mesh network, and accessing an interest metric for a second wireless device in the group of other wireless devices. The interest metric is based in part on a network topology from the wireless mesh network. The interest metric is related to an interest threshold and it is determined whether relating the interest metric to the interest threshold supports enabling messaging communications. If so, messaging communications may be enabled.
Abstract: Inter-radio access technology (IRAT) ping pong handover of a user equipment (UE) connection between a source radio access technology (RAT) communications network, e.g., LTE, and a different target RAT communications network, e.g., UTRAN, is detected. A control node determines IRAT ping pong handover information and evaluates an IRAT handover request message for the UE connection from the source RAT network with respect to the handover ping pong information. Based thereon, the node determines that the UE connection meets one or more ping pong conditions associated with the handover ping pong information and provides an indication of an IRAT ping pong handover condition to a base station in the source RAT network to allow the base station to make mobility adjustments.

Abstract: A mobile network is adapted to provide a first mobile telephony service to a first group of subscribers and a second mobile telephony service to a second group of subscribers. The mobile network includes a home location register; at least one switching equipment cooperating with the home location register for providing the first mobile telephony service to the first group of subscribers; at least one adapter node cooperating with the home location register and with the switching equipment for providing the second mobile telephony service to the second group of subscribers.
Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) that was registered on a non-preferred network operator may be forced to register immediately and seamlessly onto another available more preferred network operator by updating the EF_LOCI in the UICC with the MCCMNC (i.e. PLMN ID) of the preferred network operator and then sending the REFRESH—3G Session Reset command to the Mobile Equipment (ME).
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and systems to control remote devices or equipment via existing cellular telephone networks wherein information from a customer concerning a specific function is communicated and performed at the remote equipment. To achieve this, a Central Control receives information from the customer and correlates it to a specific cellular telephone MIN number which has been pre-programmed. The MIN number is then sent to a cellular provider. The cellular provider then transmits the MIN number to an antenna, which transmits the MIN number to a remote equipment controller at the remotely located equipment. The remote equipment controller then takes a part of the MIN and gives these numbers to a PLC at the remote equipment controller. The PLC then memory maps part of the MIN to a specific function to be carried out by the remote equipment controller, and the specific function is carried out.
