Abstract: Systems and methods for presenting information in a header region of an application are provided. In some aspects, a URL is received in an omnibox of an application window of a computer. A page corresponding to the URL is presented in a page display region of the application window. The URL is presented in the omnibox. A collapsed form of the URL and connection information associated with the page are presented in a button of the application window adjacent to the omnibox. The collapsed form of the URL includes a representation of a top-level domain and a hierarchy of the URL. The collapsed form of the URL includes different text from the URL.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing an improved cellular user quality of experience (QoE) are disclosed. The system can comprise a database including multiple cell towers and their operating frequencies. The system can also include a database of frequencies for a plurality of user equipment (UE). The system enables user to input a chosen UE, a chosen location, and a connection type. The system can then provide a compatibility map depicting the coverage provided by cell towers proximate the chosen location that operate at the same frequencies as the chosen UE. Improved knowledge of UE and cell tower compatibility in areas of interest to the user can improve cellular customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty, and reduce UE returns.
Abstract: A GUI for an LMS includes a plurality of graphical modules, each representing a lesson, medium, or deliverable for a project. Each module has attributes permitting interconnection with other modules within the context of the project when moved adjacent to one another within a course creation workspace. The course creation workspace includes a visual editing facility allowing a user to assemble the project through drag and drop interconnection of the modules within a project prompt that is a visual instantiation of learning goals associated with an educational standard. Such assembly automatically generates lesson content and associates badges representing the lessons, which badges become available to students as they complete the respective lessons.
Abstract: Example systems and methods to visualize and manage medical device operations and troubleshooting are provided. Interface information from a plurality of medical devices is used to generate a visualization of the interface information from the one or more of the plurality of medical devices. Each medical device interface is represented by a miniature representation of the interface in the visualization. Each miniature representation is to convey information shown on the interface of the medical device. The visualization is provided to a user via a user interface at a remote control computer. The user interface is to facilitate user selection of a miniature representation to trigger display of a larger representation of the selected medical device interface information via the user interface.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for receiving, processing, and presenting user reviews, or logging user experiences, with products and services, e.g., restaurant services. One aspect is a method providing user interface elements including a region having panels each for receiving ratings of a general aspect of the product or service, a region having panels each for receiving ratings of a specific item of the product or service, where each panel includes an analog user interface element to input a rating and presents an image corresponding to the rating. Another aspect is a method that includes providing for each panel an analog user interface element for a user to input a rating for a corresponding item of the product or service, and accepting as a completed review a review input by the user that does not include any text input by the user.
Abstract: A display and operator control apparatus in a motor vehicle, which display and control apparatus can be used at least to display information from various driver assistance systems and to select functions which are associated with these driver assistance systems. At least one mode of operation in which a digital map display with specific display parameters is displayed and, in the process, at least one function can be selected. A changeover in respect of the possibility to select at least one other function can be activated and this changeover is not made from a fundamental basic display to the user even when a changeover is made between selectable functions, which may be separately displayed via buttons. Only one or more display parameters are changed, and therefore the display to the user can be adapted in an optimum manner.

Abstract: A platform allows experts, for example home improvement professionals, to upload their portfolios, i.e. content such as photos, videos, text, and sound, to a publicly available resource, such as a Web browser accessible, network based commerce system. Users may then browse the content, for example by room, style, and metro area. The content is arranged in collections that are in part passively sorted, based upon user relevance. Tags are shown on objects, for example within photos, for which there is more information. In the case of a movable display device, the tags can simulate the physics of real tags, for example they can move back and forth when the device is shaken. In another embodiment, a snap point is set to impart either a scrolling transition or a step transition between display pages, based upon user scroll activity.
Abstract: Communicating information through a user platform by representing, on a user platform visual display, spatial publishing objects as entities at locations within a three-dimensional spatial publishing object space. Each spatial publishing object associated with information, and each presenting a subset of the associated information. Establishing a user presence at a location within the spatial publishing object space. The user presence, in conjunction with a user point-of-view, being navigable by the user in at least a two-dimensional sub-space of the spatial publishing object space.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method for operating a virtual agent will be described. An interaction context is obtained. An agent state is determined based on the obtained interaction context. The agent state indicates an activity of the virtual agent. The emotion of the virtual agent is updated based on the obtained interaction context, the determined agent state and/or a personality of the virtual agent. One or more behaviors are selected. Each behavior involves or indicates a change in an appearance of the virtual agent or generation of audio. Various embodiments relate to devices, servers, software and systems arranged to implement one or more of the above operations.

Abstract: A terminal is provided with an input unit configured to detect contact of an object and a position of the object, and a controller configured to generate a control signal corresponding to a recognition of a gesture of the object, which is detected at a position spaced apart from the input unit when touched by the object. The terminal may allow an operation command desired by the user to be completed since a gesture is initiated at a surface of the terminal, and terminated at the surface of the terminal again after being performed in a space on the surface of the terminal. By specifying a start or an end of the gesture, the intention of the user may be clearly presented and may improve the recognition rate. Therefore, the user may easily manipulate mobile phones and various equipments while driving.

Abstract: An information processing system that calculates an estimated display duration for which a content item will be displayed on a page displayed by a display of an electronic device; determines an amount of content to be included in the content item, wherein the determining includes reducing an amount of content included in the content item in a case that the estimated display duration is less than a predetermined threshold value; and causes the content item to be displayed on the page displayed by the display of the electronic device based on the determining.
Abstract: An organization mode in a user interface that displays multiple user interface elements. The multiple user interface elements fit over a grid positions that are at least conceptually imposed over a canvas. In organization mode, the grid positions are displayed, allowing the user to more easily see where user interface elements may be placed. As the user moves and/or resizes a user interface element, one or more corresponding grid positions are highlighted to show where the user interface element would be placed if the move or resize operation were to conclude at that moment. The organization mode may also provide a contextual actions menu with respect to a particular user interface element. The contextual actions menu includes multiple organization mode commands, including one or more that may be directed selected from the contextual actions menu to invoke the command.
