  • Patent number: 11710328
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying a presence of a completed document are disclosed. The system may receive an image file from a client device associated with a first document, identify one or more image regions within the image file corresponding to a presence of one or more extractable data entries, selectively extract the one or more extractable data entries, and determine whether the one or more extractable data entries match one or more stored data entries. When the one or more extractable data entries match, the system may determine the status of the first document as completed. When the one or more extractable data entries do not match, the system may proactively replace one or more inconsistent extractable data entries with corresponding stored data entries to form a corrected first document, and generate a request for a client to verify the corrected first document.

  • Patent number: 11710012
Abstract: A digital printing process for printing an image (I) including a white area (W) and/or a coloured area (C) on a packaging material includes selecting a packaging material with a substantially white side, and preparing print data to be sent to a printing means taking into account that the side of the packaging material is substantially white. The print data represents one or more first image areas (A1) representing the image (I), and one or more second image areas (A2) representing a packaging look (L), to be printed on the substantially white side of the packaging material, outside the one or more first image areas (A1) where the image (I) is to be located. The method further includes printing by the printing means on the substantially white side of the packaging material using the print data.

  • Patent number: 11704921
Abstract: Character recognition processing suitable to a handwritten character area and a printed character area among character areas in a scanned image of a document is performed. Next, character recognition results for the handwritten character area and character recognition results for the printed character area are integrated and a likelihood indicating a probability of being an extraction target is calculated for a candidate character string that is an extraction candidate among the integrated character recognition results and a character string that is the item value is determined. Then, at the time of the determination, different evaluation indications are used in a case where a character originating from the handwritten character area is included in characters constituting the candidate character string and in a case where such a character is not included.

  • Patent number: 11699243
Abstract: Paired images of substantially the same scene are captured with the same freestanding sensor. The paired images include reflected light illuminated with controlled polarization states that are different between the paired images. Information from the images is applied to a convolutional neural network (CNN) configured to derive a spatially varying bi-directional reflectance distribution function (SVBRDF) for objects in the paired images. Alternatively, the sensor is fixed and oriented to capture images of an object of interest in the scene while a light source traverses a path that intersects the sensor's field of view. Information from the paired images of the scene and from the images captured of the object of interest when the light source traverses the field of view are applied to a CNN to derive a SVBDRF for the object of interest. The image information and the SVBRDF are used to render a representation with artificial lighting conditions.

  • Patent number: 11651526
Abstract: An apparatus and corresponding method for frontal face synthesis. The apparatus comprises a decoder that synthesizes a high-resolution (HR) frontal-view (FV) image of a face from received features of a low-resolution (LR) non-frontal-view (NFV) image of the face. The HR FV image is of a higher resolution relative to a lower resolution of the LR NFV image. The decoder includes a main path and an auxiliary path. The auxiliary path produces auxiliary-path features from the received features and feeds the auxiliary-path features produced into the main path for synthesizing the HR FV image. The auxiliary-path features represent a HR NFV image of the face at the higher resolution. As such, an HR identity-preserved frontal face can be synthesized from one or many LR faces with various poses and may be used in types of commercial applications, such as video surveillance.

  • Patent number: 11620781
Abstract: A system and method for controlling the animation and movement of in-game objects. In some embodiments, the system includes one or more data-driven animation building blocks that can be used to define any character movements. In some embodiments, the data-driven animation blocks are conditioned by how their data is described separately from any explicit code in the core game engine. These building blocks can accept certain inputs from the core code system (e.g., movement direction, desired velocity of movement, and so on). But the game itself is agnostic as to why particular building blocks are used and what animation data (e.g., single animation, parametric blend, defined by user, and so on) the blocks may be associated with.

  • Patent number: 11615260
Abstract: There is disclosed a method of and a system for predicting text in an image using one or more constraints. The image is input to a machine learning algorithm (MLA). The MLA outputs a probability distribution. The probability distribution comprises a predicted probability for each of a plurality of pairs, where each pair comprises a class and a next state of the MLA. The states of the probability distribution are added to a set of states to be searched. States that are end states or that fail to satisfy at least one of the constraints are removed from the set of states to be searched. States of the set of states to be searched are input to the MLA. The search is repeated with new states output by the MLA. End states output by the MLA are output as output states that each comprise a sequence of characters.

  • Patent number: 11610360
Abstract: A real-time neural radiance caching technique for path-traced global illumination is implemented using a neural network for caching scattered radiance components of global illumination. The neural (network) radiance cache handles fully dynamic scenes, and makes no assumptions about the camera, lighting, geometry, and materials. In contrast with conventional caching, the data-driven approach sidesteps many difficulties of caching algorithms, such as locating, interpolating, and updating cache points. The neural radiance cache is trained via online learning during rendering. Advantages of the neural radiance cache are noise reduction and real-time performance. Importantly, the runtime overhead and memory footprint of the neural radiance cache are stable and independent of scene complexity.
