Patent number: 12674382Abstract: In several aspects, a processor receives a set of parameters characterizing sensor data from a plurality of sensors corresponding to drilling operations of a drill assembly for boring the Earth, and a condition of the drill assembly. The processor selects, by a drill assembly machine learning model executed by the processor, a subset of parameters that are related to the condition of the drill assembly. The drill assembly machine learning model uses an historical record of the set of parameters and a set of conditions of the drill assembly collected over time to determine whether a parameter is related to each condition. The processor applies weights to each parameter of the subset of parameters and weights to different levels of each parameter of the subset of parameters, producing a weighted subset of parameters and outputting the weighted subset of parameters.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2024Date of Patent: July 7, 2026Assignee: Inventus Holdings, LLCInventors: Dimitri C. Patent number: 12669026Abstract: A wireline cutting tool. The wireline cutting tool comprises an elongated tubular body. A knife housing resides within the tubular body proximate an upper end, while a plunger resides within the tubular body proximate a lower end. An electric wireline passes through a bore of the knife housing and the plunger en route to an electrical connection sub. The electrical connection sub includes a pin that transmits signals from the electric wireline down to a downhole tool. The plunger is configured to slide up the bore of the lower sub in response to a first upward shear load applied by the wireline. This causes the plunger to act against knives residing within the knife housing. The knives are configured to travel up the bore of the upper sub in response to a second upward shear load applied by the plunger, pinching the wireline until severed. The second shear load is greater than the first shear load, creating a two-stage cutting tool.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2022Date of Patent: June 30, 2026Inventors: Jon Randall Rasmussen, Brandon J. Patent number: 12669050Abstract: A connection system for a lid in a beacon housing. The lid is connected to the housing at a tab at a first end, after a lip of the lid is placed under a shelf at its second end. The tab has a cross-bore for receiving a connection pin through both the cross-bore and corresponding holes in the housing which form a continuous passage. The lid is placed under tension to reduce relative vibration between the lid and the housing. A set screw is placed within the tab to place a force on the connection pin. Further set screws are distributed about the lid and place the lid in tension relative to the housing. The lid can be removed by reducing the tension provided by the set screws, removing the connection pin, and adjusting the lid such that it is no longer under the shelf of the housing.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2025Date of Patent: June 30, 2026Assignee: The Charles Machine Works, Inc.Inventor: Greg L. Patent number: 12655705Abstract: A wireline release head system includes a housing, a cutter box situated within the housing, a fire control switch, and a wireline extending through the cutter box and in electrical communication with a control unit and the fire control switch. The cutter box includes a piston assembly operable to move within a first track and a cutter knife operable to move within a second track. The second track is angled relative to the first track. The fire control switch is in communication with a fire detonator, which is selectively activatable to detonate a power charge. An electrical signal selectively sent through the wireline from the control unit to the fire control switch detonates the power charge, which causes the piston assembly to move within the first track and contact the cutter knife causing the cutter knife to move within the second track, thereby severing the wireline.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2025Date of Patent: June 16, 2026Assignee: Reach Wireline, LLCInventors: John P.
