  • Patent number: 4584239
Abstract: A stretched multilayer polypropylene film is described, comprising a stretched crystalline polypropylene layer and a layer of a composition (Composition B) laminated on at least one side of said polypropylene layer, wherein the composition B comprises a homo- or copolymer composed mainly of ethylene, propylene or butene-1 and having a melting point of 150.degree. C. or less, and a vinylcycloalkane polymer in an amount of 0.05 wt ppm to 10 wt % calculated as a vinylcycloalkane unit. This multilayer film is greatly improved in optical properties such as excellent see-through properties without deteriorating its good heat sealability. Thus it is very useful for wrapping.

  • Patent number: 4515704
Abstract: Pourable, fluid, non sedimenting, laundry detergent composition, comprising water, surfactant, builder, a surfactant desolubilizing electrolyte and, optionally, the usual minor ingredients, consist essentially of : at least one predominantly aqueous liquid phase which is separable into a distinct layer by centrifuging the composition at 800 times normal earth gravity at 25.degree. C. for 17 hours, and which contains at least part of the electrolyte and less than 75% by weight, preferably less than 10% by weight, of the surfactant, and one or more other phases which together contain at least part of the builder as solid particles dispersed in the composition and at least part of the surfactant, preferably either as a network of solid surfactant hydrate, or as a "G" phase liquid crystal which may be associated with an "L" phase, micellar solution.

  • Patent number: 4350752
Abstract: Imidomethyl blocked photographic reagents are useful in photographic elements, film units and processes. The blocked photographic reagents have the structure: ##STR1## wherein: J represents ##STR2## X represents the atoms to complete a 5- or 6-membered ring or ring system; R represents hydrogen, alkyl or 1 to 4 carbon atoms or aryl of 6 to 12 carbon atoms; andPR represents the residue of an organic photographic reagent containing a heteroatom through which it is joined to the imidomethyl blocking group.

  • Patent number: 4334568
Abstract: There is disclosed in the specification an improved tire chain including at least one pair of tire gripper portions adapted at one of their ends to exert pressure on the tire at the tread of the tire, and at the other end on their respective sidewall near the rim of the tire. Such tire gripper portions are adapted to grip the tire independently, but by themselves do not have strength to resist the rotational forces of the tire.To add to the traction of the tire, and hold the individual tire gripper portions on the tire during rotation, a pair of connecting chains is employed between the two tire gripper portions. To resist disengagement from the tire during rotation by centrifugal force, a pin portion is provided on the inner end of each gripper portion which is adapted to press into the tire to a predetermined stop so that such pin portion is actually embedded in the sidewall of the tire. It is disclosed that such pin portion could also engage a preformed recess in the sidewall of the tire.

  • Patent number: 4314864
Abstract: The present invention discloses a tire building apparatus (10) and preferred method for building a tire. The apparatus includes a longitudinally movable carriage (12), a guideway (20) for the longitudinal movement of the carriage, a headstock (14) mounted on the carriage, a tire assembly drum (11) having an inboard end (29) and an outboard end (28), and a drum support (15) mounted on the carriage. A plurality of operation stations (A-G) are spaced longitudinally along the guideway, and mechanical datum (30), fixedly located at each operation station, are provided to engage mechanical locators (31) secured to the carriage. A bladder (42) is provided selectively to cause engagement of the locators with the mechanical datum at each successive station to locate the tire assembly drum precisely with respect to the operation station.
